The principals never change. To lose fat, eat a caloric deficit. To gain muscle, lift and eat a surplus.

The only thing that has changed for me as I got older is how much sleep effects recovery. Ideally you get a good nights sleep regardless of age, but you definitely feel it a lot more in your 40s.

But as said, you should be getting good sleep regardless of age. I left a lot of gains on the table by training and then going out to party late in my 20s and 30s.

This. A study of people on the same amount of calories and similar workout routines but with on egroup that got 5.5 hours and 1 that got 8 hours showed that the 8 hours sleep gained/retained 60% more muscle and loss 60% more fat than the 5.5 hours.

Not that hard if you are in the 10 1/3 socioeconomic status giving you leisure time and good Healthcare.

Hellishly hard if you are overworked, poor and divorced with a household to maintain by yourself and see your children 1/6 of the time meaning you have to totally focus on being at all of their activities not during your parenting time so that they experience you as a father.

So I guess just win at life and you'll be a winner.

Not him and not American. But you can cook lunch for a whole week with some rice, chicken and frozen vegetables. Just do the same with dinner. Breakfast is whatever. The idea that shit food is cheaper is a moron cope by people who don't know how to cook.

Live on potatoes, veggies, Greek yogurt and whatever health food exists and only drink water.
It might still be hard but you'll lose weight for sure.

Avoiding goyslop, alcohol and deserts are priority one

If your goals are the same as when you were 20, it's harder now. But you can set easier goals because much less is required to mog everyone close to your age when everyone else is fat and weak

I'm 50 with abs. In my experience you have to modify habits to adjust to the aging of your body. No breakfast, no soda/beer (straight scotch/mezcal), sprinting to create afterburner effect, Apple Cider Vinegar to frick with stubborn fat, L citrulline (does wonders for nitric oxide, blood, and cellular repair).
