It was the first thing I hit because before I started lifting the only thing I really trained were shoulders. The first months of lifting my OHP was almost the same as my bench.
I'm assuming 135 means 1pl8 or 60kg; that took me a bit over five months if I remember correctly.
I was following the SL progression and that 1pl8 milestone came and went without much trouble.
I don't know what that image is supposed to represent. I was a fat frick who worked at a machine shop, dieted hard did a bunch of cardio and lifted heavy shit at work, lost a lot of weight, wanted to up my game went to the gym with gymbro and did 1pl8 OHP for 5x3. Not flexing just telling a truth.
I started working out again in February after taking 4 years off from back issues. Took about 8 weeks to get to 135 5x5 again from a start of 65 5x5. Initially I have no frickin clue because I started lifting in high school and didn't frickin care what I was doing just followed what coach put on the board lol.
it's possible. i think 1pl8 OHP is the easiest to reach out of the 4. problem is going higher in OHP is extremely fricking hard and slow. i got like 60kg OHP for 5 reps in maybe 6 months as well? 6 months later i'm only at 67.5kg for 5. though i did have a few months off from covid and laziness.
i don't know, maybe 12 seconds?
5 reps shouldn't take you that long
I hate you homosexuals so much
post sexy wimin sir

I help you good sirs because OP lov dek and bol instead of bob and vajne

If you are a manlet it will take forever. I’m not a manlet so it was ez for me
I love you guys so much
Le heccin redditarino kind stranger thanks for the gold teehee I love dad jokes and Rick and morty!! I’m pickle Rick!!!!!!
You could OHP 135 for 5 but you’re better off trying to do it faster. 5 minute reps will take too long
It took me a long time since I started out very weak. It's also taken me about a year to go from 1 plate to 1.5 plates. It's super slow.
either you speak in PLATES or KILOGRAMS or I won't understand how much we're talking about (I have a severe mental disability)
>I have a severe mental disability
based
i just got to 130 lb for 1, can't imagine 5
I started incredibly weak, like struggling to bench the bar weak. I also started late at 26, it's taken me a year to hit 1pl8 OHP 1rm
It was the first thing I hit because before I started lifting the only thing I really trained were shoulders. The first months of lifting my OHP was almost the same as my bench.
5 months and 1 week
In that case, I did it in 5 months and 6 days
I've been lifting for years and still haven't hit 135 for 5. My 1rm is 140. I'm not sure if it's a form issue or something else.

>no mention of bodyweight
See ya in the fph.
I can barely manage 90 for 5. Tfw OHPlet...
Keep at it and you'll get there soon. More than any other lift, I find OHP helps from doing lower weights at high reps to help improve my 5RM
It took me around 3 months. I fricking hate bench press now.
im not there yet but i've been lifting for 9 weeks and im at 110 for 8
>9 weeks of lifting
>110 for 8
Frick off
im not even bullshitting
although i do alot of carpentry during summer
lmao cope weakling I did 135x6 in 6 weeks
pathetic, I did it in 4 weeks and for 7 reps
>1pl8 OHP in 9 weeks
yeah alright buddy
most of the time these homosexuals are push pressing with atrocious form and claiming it as OHP
Still ridiculously high for 9 weeks of lifting
You'd be surprised how much easier push pressing is than OHP. Bear in mind you're using your whole body including legs
idk, I've been able to do 1pl8 OHPs since high school
Like 6 months with a 2 month break in-between because I wasn't serious yet about being consistent.
My current OHP is 165 for 5 reps bc for some reason that's my best lift. My deadlift is only 3pl8 though so idfk.
First time I went to the gym I did 1pl8 OHP 5x3
>First time I went to the gym I did 1pl8 OHP 5x3

I was ohp 135 on my first day although it's not fair since I did haying which is pretty much throwing 100lb haybales around all day
>tfw can ohp 190 for 5 reps
Okay, that's a big boy.

Bout a month.
There's a disgusting amount of larping in this thread. I know you homosexuals aren't OHPing 1pl8 in <6 months.

thats a man
I'm a bonelet manlet marathon runner. That would be bodyweight x 5 for me. Most I've done is 125 lb x 1
