If it took you 1 year to notice your gains you have terrible genetics

Or maybe some kind of dysmorphia? I've gained a bit more than 30 pounds since the beginning of my fitness journey, I'm way stronger than I was before, people have commented on my physique, but to me I'm the same guy as last year.

Depends on how hard you work yourself and what classifies as noticable. The same result could take substantially different amounts of time depending on diet, exercise regime, goals, amount of free time and many other things.

Im already mid 20s,so I guess older than the typical person who has OPs question.
A fast transformation is not common(less than year for a noticeable muscular body) but more than genetics it requires lots of things, the only dude I have met irl who looked very different under a year did this
          >Was really skinny from before
          >Trained calisthenics every day
          >Active as frick, cardio every day, some days for hours
          >Bulked hard as frick with pizzas and everything he got slightly fat but way more muscular
          >Then ate normally and got abs in a few months

    Depends on genetics.

    Amazing genetics 1 month.
    Good genetics 3 months.
    Decent genetics 6 months.
Anything longer than 6 months I bad genetics.

If you are very skinny with visible abs and no bodyfat it’s more likely you will be in the good genetics category, if you are skinny fat it’s likely you will be in the bad genetics category.

      This is fat logic

Noticeable to you, pretty fast. However you should watch for more reps and not bigger muscles in the mirror.

Noob gains you'll notice changes in the first couple of months. Other people might not see these changes, depends how well you respond to lifting. If you're tall its worse, you'll probably unfortunately only notice your gains when stark naked. You'll notice that things seem to become lighter though and your posture etc will probably get better pretty quick

Depends on your genetics, how hard you train and how well you eat. But if you're actually pushing yourself in the gym, and eating properly you can start to notice gains within a month, especially if you're starting off skinny.

I'm skinny and I started to notice some clear differences (mainly chest and abs) during the third month.

Have a bf% and weight goal. Don't worry you start looking and feeling different WAY before you actually make it. Don't fret over the looks at first. Thats a surefire way to get body dismorphia early. Count your sets, reps and weights and try to improve those numbers.
Fitness isn't a countdown until you get your dream body. You just go lift and at some point you start looking progressively better.

Good for you king. Keep up the good work

When I first started, people noticed to the point they commented on it after like 2 months. At the time, I was a lifeguard and spent a lot of time with my shirt off so it was easier to notice.

Forget looks and focus on numbers - reps and weight. This is measurable and objective.
Your mind will absolutely lie to you, I still see a fat dyel in the mirror sometimes.
Focus on numbers, progressing steadily and before long the appearance will be there as a side affect.
Looking good is a secondary benefit of being fit and strong as frick.

    > 1 month
    > 1 year
Any less gains and you're ngmi

      Eh, more like
      >start to 2 weeks
      >2 weeks to two months
      > two months to six
      >six to a year
If you are skinny fat, you will get more lean. And if you already skinny, then you better be getting your protein.

The Owl House Season 2 finale is coming very soon, and I can't wait! So, when I decided to browse IST to distract myself and saw this thread, I knew that I 'had' to ask, what would be a good exercise to do in honor of the Owl House? After all, me and my friends could 'really' use a workout or two to distract us while we wait for the Season 3 specials.

For those unfamiliar with The Owl House, it takes place in the Boiling Isles, an archipelago in a realm of Demons and Witches, surrounded by a Boiling Sea and formed from the colossal corpse of a humanoid being known as the Titan, whose species once roamed the sea. Even ages after death, the Titan’s blue blood is a potent source of magic, and can cause items to slip between realms or open temporal portals. There are four glyphs, one for Light, one for Fire, an Ice one, and a Plant one, that work by tapping in the ambient magic from the Titan (usually consuming what they’re inscribed on when activated) and can be arranged in array combos for a wider variety of effects. Initially the Witches and Demons used these runes to harness magic, but Witches and Biped Demons eventually developed internal magic reserves that allow them to cast spells by drawing a circle, their bodies generating the combination on its own. Under the rule of Emperor Belos, every Witch must join a Coven, the nine major ones being Abomination (which focuses on creating and controls purple goop golems), Bard, Beastkeeping, Construction, Healing, Illusion, Oracle, Plant, and Potions. When joining a Coven, a sigil is applied that cuts off all non-Coven magic save for basic cantrips like levitating items, with only the Emperor’s own Coven allowed to use all kinds of magic, which Belos justifies by claiming that he’s been chosen by the Titan. Being a Wild Witch, who rejects the Coven system, or combining multiple kinds of magic, are highly discouraged on threat of being petrified or sent to the “Conformatorium”.

I started as a skinnyfat, for me it was 3-4 months.
Although most of the visible change was due to rapid fat loss and better posture i assume.

Make sure you eat a lot. It was only when I started eating big that I got bigger whilst also lifting too

Depends on how fricked your perception of yourself is and if you have some moronic goal body. I would say anywhere from 6 months to 2 years of lifting CORRECTLY (diet, training/sleeping consistently, etc.). You'll soon realize that being taller means it will usually take longer to reach certain strength/aesthetic goals too, in comparison to short or average height people

    >Fricked out of the gym for 3 months cause they wanted vax certs
    >When I go back I start lifting 3 days and running 3 days instead
    >Eating lots of protein but not a huge amount of calories
    >Weight starts dropping off me
    >Holy frick, my shoulders and triceps are huge

TLDR: Didn't notice my gains until I dropped some fat
