How long would it take to go from a 225lb bench to 315lb bench?

Provided you attained the 225lbs bench from linear progression and are running a good program for strength such as 5/3/1?

Add 2.5lbs per workout and you'll find out

    It's genetic.
Same diet, same training, same recovery, but genetics determine how fast you progress.

I’ve been lifting for about 3 years and benching consistently and currently max out at 295lbs. The progress from 1pl8 to 2pl8s was dramatically faster than the progress from 2pl8s to 3pl8s in my experience. If you had perfect training and diet you could probably get to 3pl8s in under 3 years to be honest.

did you bulk throughout for the 2pl8 to 3pl8?

This but also heavily depends on your bodyweight and how big you are willing to get

if only skinny twinks or roiders count, then 90% of people should just accept that they will NEVER reach 3pl8

Kek, not everyone has to be a fat piece of shit to bench 315, it's not even a lot.

IMO you won't get there doing linear any time soon.

I did 3x5 until I hit 275 and could not get over it. Started Hard/Medium/Light rotation and now I am adding reps every day.

To many of you frickers neglect forearm strength. After increasing my forearm strength I was able to make the jump from 275 to 3pl8 in a month after being stuck at 275 forever.

It took me 5 six week bench program cycles. Although some of these cycles were spread out and there was time in between when I was only doing OHP since I didn't had access to bench. Then I started going to gym with bench and then covid started (this was when i was benching around 300lb and at the end of that cycle I should have hit 315lb). So all in all it was spread across 1 and a half years or 2 years.
I was doing 6 week HLM program. Monday - Heavy day, wednesday - light day, Friday - medium day
slight caloric surplus and mediocre sleeping pattern.
hit triceps like crazy since I bench with closer grip.
1st cycle: 220lb to 270lb (100 to 120kg) first try of this program bench exploded
2st cycle: 270lb to 285lb (120 to 130kg) didnt do a lot of benching between 1st and 2nd cycle, but did a lot of OHP
3rd cycle: 285lb to 300lb (130to 135kg) managed to get a bench and bench press every training
    4th cycle: 300lb to 310lb (135 to 137.5kg)
    5th cycle: 310lb to 315lb (137.5 to 140kg)
6th cycle sometime later: 140kg to 145kg, after that hardest plateau off my life.

Observation: I hit plateau because my chest completely atrophied. My bench is completely done with tricep and a little bit of chest and I didn't do any kind of DB press, dips or chest flies. Thus Im weak of chest.

Google HLM bench program or I can post it if anyone wants, its great for going from beginner to intermediate.

If you gain 1lb of bodyweight a day, you should be able to make that progress in a few months

The secret is to get to like a 365bench while getting fat, then cut so you still have a lmao3pl8 bench and a nice physique
Then you do the same exact thing to get to lmao4pl8

My bro sent me a video of him benching 275 for 17 reps. He doesn't know how strong he is. He just like to push.
