A few. A couple 500. I've seen a 1000 pound squat and a few 900 pound squats. I've seen a teenage girl still in high school squat 600. Serious powerlifters put up big numbers.

I’m one of them (425 pr) and the post is true
The only people that will visibly care and ask you for advice and that are people are who actively lifting and into ISTness themselves
Cardio bunnies and people who are in the gym to “try and slim down” either wont care at all, or as stated in the post, think you’re on every steroid in existence and think you’re just a huge meathead
Heard it when I was in my campus gym, 3 paki/jeet guys were watching me press from the machine next to the bench, and I heard one of them chuckle and say something about how I’m on steroids to his buddies
    Made me feel kinda bad

Dont feel bad. Those jeets were just coping and jealous bro. If anything you made them feel bad and you should feel proud.

Dude at my gym who just competed at the Arnold completed a personal best at the low/mid 400s. He's in a heavier weight class. He placed high.

A 405lbs bench is elite. Until you see someone actually do the lift, don't believe them.

Saw some roidgorilla rep 450. But only once in 10 years. Otherwise 350 or so was the most I’ve seen on the bar if it was some experienced lifter, and when I’m doing 290 ppl already tell me it’s “impressive”.

    Once but the guy
    >had sleeves and elastics
    >had a chest block
So not a true bench press. He was still strong as frick and repping out 365 normally, if he had a spotter he could probably do it and probably has done it in the past

I've been lifting for about 3 months now.
The biggest bench I've seen from the most jacked guy I've seen in my commercial gym was 3pl8 for 6.
2pl8 bench is very rare, I've seen like <10 guys lift that or slightly above for reps. One of the gym trainers is hitting 120kg for 8.
Never, not once I've seen anyone go above 3pl8, only time I saw a guy stack 4pl8 bench was when he just lifted it off and held it in neutral for like 10 seconds while his friend was spotting him and then he just racked it back.

I’ve seen a couple of guys do it. They were openly on gear, would talk about their tren cycles and shit. There are very few lifetime natty lifters who can bench 405, and those few tend to be pretty overweight.

      > There are very few lifetime natty lifters who can bench 405, and those few tend to be pretty overweight.
I spotted my dad bench 405x2 at the age of 53, lifetime natty but he's 5'9 and was ~260lbs at the time so the bloat was def a factor.

That fricker literally just did it to mog me and no other reason he even admitted it later when he decided to lose weight "I benched more than you ever will I don't need to be this fat anymore" ffs...

        Anonymous

That’s impressive regardless but yea 5’9” 260 is pretty stout. In my experience 3 plate bench is in the area of the limit for most lean natties. And if we’re being honest, most dudes don’t even break 2 plates. Except IST where everyone reps 365 pure natty bro.

Zoomers won't have seen it because nobody lifts heavy in commercial gyms anymore, It was pretty normal a decade ago to see guys throw up 315 for some low reps, 405 was much more rare but most gyms would have one or two big freaky dudes who would occasionally do it. I've seen maybe a dozen guys bench 405 in person since I've been lifting but none in the past 5 years.

405lb bench is very easy for anyone >180lbs who actually does competition form correctly.

Most lifters don't bother with bench technique and only work on their diddlies and squats.

Saw it a couple times when I was in college, or at least a couple people capable of it based on the weight they were benching for reps. One of them I know for a fact was juicing. The other I believe may have just been a complete genetic freak, he wasn't even very old, like 19 or 20.

This isn't fricking fair. The internet told me that you only tear your pec if you're a roider, I know maxing every week is moronic but I didn't think this could even happen to me.
