Americans need to eat less. Not even better, put that on hold for now, just less. So far, we have hit massive resistance every time we advocate for this.

Americans apparently ate less across the board just a few decades ago. Why did we start eating so much more all of the sudden and how do we revert to regular fricking human amounts of food?

People underestimate the "people did more" part of the equation.
I have a manual labour job now, it's not very intense and my Fitbit doesn't even pick me up as being in an exercise zone during it normally but walking around and carrying stuff for 8 hours a day gets me from ~2k calories burned in a normal day of light activity to over 3k.
It's so easy to lose weight right now and I'm having to go out of my way to eat more or I'll get deficit fatigue the next day.
Picrel is calories burned. Only worked Thursday and Friday this week cause I was getting over the flu.

The problem isn't carbs/sugar Americans eat WAY too much oil. Most of them eat multiple servings of fried items every day.

      Anonymous

      It's actually all three.

There isn't a strong correlation between either of those and obesity, but there is a strong correlation between processed food consumption and obesity, and processed food contains lots of fat sugar and refined carbs.

        Anonymous

Yeah I did a research paper on this and there are several factors at play. It could be simplified as people historically not knowing how to eat properly, but being limited by their environment, and now in a modern day and age people are resorting to base instinct (convenience and taste) and need to learn how to eat healthy.

Anon *they* destroyed the one income economy in order to create a superior consumer. Feminism and the career woman meant that every family would need to consume food products instead of food, two automobiles instead of one, childcare services outside of mandatory state indoctrination facilities. Better yet, destabilize marriage through social engineering and push a culture of individuals consuming outside of family support systems and you have double the housing consumption by the would be nuclear family alone as well as senior care so that no home has a single home economic contributing adult. Nobody could hem pants at home or patch anything, nobody has time to home scho, nobody has time to food prep healthier but slower to cook food items, nobody has time to garden, cleaning outsourced to mexican immigrants, and an hoa dictated lawn that provides absolutely nothing but requires lawn care equipment or services, everybody has to drive to work and schooling, all on a housing plot of land as small as possible with a particle board house as large as possible that will rot in 50 years and need to be replaced or renovated entirely. All funded by fake fiat currency lended to banks at 0.5% intrest funded by stealing from the consumer via taxation and inflation (also taxation via debt based spending).

Government is by definition a corperation. All statism is corporatism so attempting to make that distinction is redundant. Any and all taxation and fiat currency is socialism.

Only the lucky ones gain much weight from it. Rice or potatoes, grease gravy, cornbread, and fried meat two or three times a day and it don't do shit. Non-bean vegetables are kept to a minimum and always cooked with butter or grease. Not to mention chugging sweet tea with a whole cup of sugar per gallon all day. Weight gain is just as painfully slow as with any other diet, even Asian or Italian with lots of rice, pasta, and meat.

It's not the corn's fault. Hfcs behaves the same as cane sugar gram for gram, but is actually sweeter. Hence you theoretically use less and have better health outcomes vs sweetening with sugar.

It's a combination of many problems. Notice the epicenter has always been middle America, particularly the South AKA the Bible Belt. If you ever drive through middle America what you'll find is that it's practically a food desert. You have to drive well out of your way to find a grocery store and more often than not they're hard to find at all in small areas, whereas fast food is fricking everywhere.

Other factors are the sedentary post-industrial nature of our economy, a slow degradation of the quality of education, the increase of sedentary hobbies (IE: internet, television, & streaming services, instead of anything outdoors), and notably the lack of food regulation.

For that last point, I lived in Japan for years. Portion sizes were obviously smaller, but even when you went and found something like Doritos or Cheetos, they tasted way fricking different because sensible countries have sensible laws about the quantity and variety of fricking poison you can falsely label as "food".

I was raised by European immigrants in America and ended up skinny. I hardly ever ate out, dinner was always what mom and dad cooked. I still cannot see where my countrymen find the time and meals to be fat. Besides always having a bag of chips on hand to munch, I can imagine it happening if you were to eat fast food for every meal, but there's no way anybody actually does that. Right?

You seed oil gays are on the right track but fail to understand that increase in seed oil consumption = increase in calories. Or stragiht up ignore it and keep sperging about something else. Usually just ignoring it because I´'ve noticed you spergs and keto scene does that hand in hand, so it's beneficial to downplay role of increased oil/fat consumption in causing obesity because keto shills tell people to eat more fat. You morons are useful idiots for them.

Yeah the seed oils is just a filler purposely inserted in order to make cheap and calorie dense foods.
