how to be better at 30

Im 29 now, have money and I go to the gym 5 to 6 times a week. my 20's sucked, just working and watching everyone around me live a happier life. I want my 30's to be better, what are the ways to make my future look bright?
>thinking of fixing my teeth, getting invisalign
>invest more
>might get a pilots license
>have money set aside for a hair transplant for the future if i need it.
>still go to the gym
I was never satisfied with myself, what are ways you guys are going to improve yourselves on?

Same situation. I'm 28, just finished my first year of residency, and realized that I spent my 20s grinding.
Game plan is to move to the burbs with my wife, find a gucci job with good work life balance, get myself a steam sauna, become a lazy suburban dad who works out, reads, travels a few times a year, and saunas all the time.
It's not the politically and culturally impactful future I wanted for myself a few years ago but the older I get, the more I just want to raise some kids, go on some trips, and keep my head down. I used to revile the burbs and now I aspire to that type of quiet life.
If I could get some of my bros to move to the same neighborhood or area as me it would be all the better.

good luck to you, Im thinking of moving somewhere like miami, wherever they have big booty latinas. Im not sure if 30 is too old to hit on latinas there.

You're never too old to hit on latinas bro.
Don't discount the southwest. There's some real bougie mexico city girls who come up to Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso to visit their absentee fathers in the winter who would like nothing more than a buff fun guero. Mexican guys are such babies literally any level of independence and self efficacy will blow a mexican chicks' mind.

What kind of advice do you want? The people around you probably aren't as happy as you think.
You seem obsessed with your looks, can't find a gf?

So you're a married doctor and your big problem is not being a political influencer? You're basically living the dream, have as many children as you can and don't frick it up.

Very much seems to be true. 20s really are a time for fricking around and not taking things seriously (within reason)

I'm 29, and joining the reserves for job training and free college while I'm not at drill. On one hand it's a lower class way out, if you come from a well adjusted and relatively well off family chances are you don't to resort to the military to dig yourself out of your hometown. Maybe something to consider if you're just an upgraded neet by the time you're 30. But yeah, going to school for mechanical engineering and getting job training in structural airframe maintenance or cyber systems. Besides that I'm just trying to get my credit in better shape and stay in good physical condition.

My credit is good, I have some money in Both Roth and standard IRA’s, not too much credit card debt. I was working as a chef for my twenties, lived all over the country made a ton of friends and memories and partied my ass off.

Working 60 hours a week in top restaurants in various cities, managing people and running the day to day operations of the restaurants was so much fun until Covid. It was my passion and then I hated it and decided frick this I’m not wasting any more time doing something I hate so here I am. Next chapter.

Chad, I got sober last year after wasting nearly all my 20s. Now turning 27, starting everything required to get into Uni and into compsci.

      What are you studying?

        Anonymous

Definitely. It that. My friend is studying that and the later courses are literally all pajeets. The professors are all pajeets, the YouTube videos explaining things are all pajeets. He can’t understand everything and it’s legitimately a struggle.

I’m going to study chemistry. Chemical engineering if I’m not too moronic; I mean I know I’m mentally capable I just rack disciprine. Sobriety is imperative for success.

Lol 100% all poointheloos. 95% of C tutorials are in Hindi it's fricked. I'm in Australia so hopefully Uni here isn't too bad.

Frick yeah, what are you going to do with that? Heisenberg shit.
          >Sobriety is imperative for success
Unless you're a musician or some shit. Drugs and alcohol made me a babbling fricking moron, took me like a year and a half to get my wits back lol

            Anonymous

I think musicians are good in spite of substance abuse. It’s not conducive to any form of success, especially not longterm. You can’t burn the candle at both ends forever.. for me I was always depressed and legitimate ADD so school was terrible. Found drugs and alcohol and REALLY liked them, it was fun. Found my way into restaurant work and started my first fine dining job in Cinci and was really good at it. Moved to Seattle and got lucky hired as CDC under a great exec and helped open a restaurant that’s still kicking ass today and that was in 2015.. The ADD is actually like a superpower when harnessed properly and I am good at doing five or six things at once without fricking anything up so the kitchen was a perfect fit.

how did you maintain a good social life as a chef?
i got a friend in the same field and he's always working long hours with zero time to party or relax

Mostly through work, but tinder was like shooting fish in a barrel as a chef at a trendy restaurant. I made some of my best friends in the industry and met my gf who I live with and will marry at my last job.. You go out after work, stay out late, rinse repeat. Work party sleep all day on your day off. I was such a total machine at my job that I worked three 12 hour shifts, so 36 hours at work over three days without sleeping and banged a tinder hoe after work the last day and slept for like 16 hours.

Honestly if you're still comparing your life to others at your age you're never going to make it and need to seriously just grow up. Yes, it's good to strive for self improvement but if you compare yourself to others you'll never be happy because people will always be richer, hotter, be banging more hoes etc... You need to learn to be happy with what you have first, you're living in a first world country, you have disposable income, you have the freedom to go work out at a gym (highly taken for granted by most) you're living a good fricking life. So just enjoy that shit and live your life, this whole oh I need to do this, I need to do this, I need to do this attitude that you have is terrible and very (hate using this term) but beta. Just get some hobbies and enjoy them while continuing to save up money and work towards being happy with yourself because comparing yourself to others is never going to lead to anything.

I'm 35 and I've realized the whole "ohh nooo my 20s!" thing is a meme. I feel and look basically the same but I'm more confident in myself and what I've got. Don't stop going to the gym and make getting a good nights sleep every night your top priority, shitty sleep fricks with everything. Also like the other anon said, wear sunscreen often (at least on your face).

I panicked a lot in my 20s over where my life was and what I wanted to be doing, now I just don't care and am gearing up to go to medical school at 40. I'll retire 10 years later than everybody else boo hoo.

    >have money set aside for a hair transplant for the future if i need it.

If your hair is starting to go look into finnasteride now, if you get a transplant, odds are you have to take finnasteride afterwards anyway.
There, now I just saved you some money.

fin fricks your sex drive though, i know people who got a transplant, and people who started fin.
Transplant people take fin for the hairs that didnt fall out yet. but fin does frick your drive.

30 now, I recently realized I wasted my 20s, I went to college for a meme degree that I didn't even finish, and now I'm just going around from dead-end job to another. If you are in your early-mid 20s, don't waste your time, frens, you will feel like a failure and empty when you are 30.

More or less what happened to me. Let myself waste all of my 20s with no career, no skills gained, basically every day was just wasting time until I got to sleep again. When I hit 30 a year ago suddenly it all hit me how worthless and pathetic I now am. Daily panic attacks, constant desire to kill myself, don't see a point in living anymore given how incomprehensibly far behind I am in life.

      I hope people don't waste their teens-early 20s.

Just don't stop. My 20's sucked too, but I started running in the 7th grade, ran track in high school, started working part time at a job where I threw concrete around all day, dropped out and joined the Coast Guard, and started lifting about halfway through and still am. 31 now.
