How to fight?

I want to be able to win a fight if I'm out and some guy grabs my girlfriends ass or something. The fact that I can OHP 1 plate means nothing to me if I can't use the strength I've trained for to defend the ones I love if shit ever hits the fan.
What martial art do I need to take to basically ensure that I can win a quick street fight? I'm thinking boxing just to learn footwork, blocking, and striking which seems like all you'd really need.

Not really. In fact it's fairly likely that if you fight on concrete, someone is going to hit their head. Go on /gif/ and notice the multitudes of concussions and fencing responses in the rekt threads.

    >What martial art do I need to take to basically ensure that I can win a quick street fight?
one that lets you semi regularly spar close to full contact with other people, doesn't rely on a kid shit scoring system like McDojo karate, and isn't so dangerous that it consistantly leads to major injuries.
you want to see what I mean by mc dojo? MMA1, which had sumo wrestlers and all sorts of weird shit, people who focused on striking and grappling beat them all. That chinese mma guy who fought and beat so many "Traditional" martial artists that the governments support as culturally vital that he has one of the lowest social credit scores possible is good reason to avoid mysitc stuff. And there's that fight where an American or British kickboxer broke his leg fighting a Muay Thai fighter that wasn't allowed to use most of his moves.
A guns best though, just keep in mind the 21 foot rule.

Learn to throw a punch. Start with a jab, work up to uppercut combos. Plenty of beginner lessons on tik tok. Get proficient with heavy bag and you’ll be better than 95% of population

striking has very few moves, but is extremely fast paced and nuanced, but at the same time easy to understand. it requires a very keen eye, ie a coach. it is best learned via classes, and instructionals are supplementary.
grappling has very many moves and positions, a bjj black belt probably knows thousands of moves (what a "move" is is ambiguous), and it is very hard to understand, and in reality anyone who gets good learns most of the material via instructionals or from their peers, rather than from a coach.

proper boxing is detailed and nuanced and not well serviced by tiktok or instagram's ultra short video format.

I want to get into Muay Thai, but of the two people I've met who tried it, both got injured and had to wear a cast on their arms. I need my arms to work, I can't allow myself to become disabled for weeks.

you'll only break your shin or your forearm or ribs in striking from hard sparring or comp. otherwise you'll break at most small bones in your hand or foot, and rarely. grappling however is a different animal

    In order of importance:

Gun (or knife if you live in cucked countries) > Striking > Ground

Don't listen to guntards that tell you all you need is a gun: threatening to shoot some drunk moron will only escalate the situation unnecessarily, to the point where things can turn out much much worse than they need to be. Guns should only be relied upon in situations where your life is in danger, never for threatening or escalating. Unless you live in some Black person-infested shithole that'll rarely be the case, but it's one you need to be prepared for nonetheless.

Learning something like boxing kickboxing or muay thai is going to serve you well in 99% of confrontations, 1. because you'll be more confident in your own abilities and consequently more capable of de-escalating without violence and 2. you'll be able to neutralize most threats granted you've trained long enough. If you can't learn a striking martial art for whatever reason, wrestling or BJJ aren't bad alternatives, but are slightly less versatile in situations where you can't afford to stay on the ground in a vulnerable position. Again, learning both something for striking and something for the ground/grappling is ideal.

Injury is somewhat inevitable if your goal is to be competent in a fight.

Sparring is optional at most fight gyms, but if all you do is pad and bag work, you'll never actually be prepared to use your techniques in a real fight. Pads and bags don't hit back or use footwork.

If you want to feel competent and comfortable in a real fight, you need to acclimate via hard sparring, The only thing that prepares you for taking hits and throwing hits is actually taking hits and throwing hits. Injury isn't necessarily inevitable, but the longer you train for, the less likely it is that you'll never sustain an injury.

That being said, I've never seen someone break a bone even at the more intense gyms I've trained at. Either they're escalating it like crazy or they have an incredibly negligent instructor. Or they sustained those injuries in actual bouts.

Good to know. I'm willing to go through intense pain in order to acquire experience, as long as my arms remain functional so I don't lose my job. I'll ask around local gyms to see what they say.

If you're in a fighting situation where one person is a trained fighter, and the other person is a dude with a gun, then the fighter is significantly more likely to win if the distance between both people is less than 8 feet and the dude hasn't drawn yet. You can easily get smoked across the jaw in the time that it takes you to pull out your gun and toggle the safety, especially since your face will be completely unguarded. Most fights start at close range to begin with, and trying to pull out a gun and take aim while another guy is wailing on your face isn't exactly easy.

If the fight is starting with more than 8 feet between combatants though, then the fighter is fricked.

If you've never tested yourself in a fistfight why do you think you'll be amazingly competent in a gunfight?

cardio so you don't gas out
sparring because you need to feel the sensation of getting punched or kicked
do lots of burpees because you need to learn to sprawl, this can be a lifesaver from getting suplexed in the concrete
either way just pull your fricking gf out of the way from the homosexual if someone does that shit unless you're sure you have full control of the environment, who knows this homosexual brought a friend with a knife who will shank your stupid ass

Do you have irl friends? If so, spar with them. That's what men have been doing for hundreds of years from boyhood up. Learn the basics and practice regularly and you will be better than almost anyone you find out in the world.
If you don't have friends, just roid so you look to intimidating to frick with.
