How to overcome fear of failure?

>would love to lift weights
>scared that I will always look dyel
>would love to study computer engineering at university
>scared that I am too stupid
>would love to learn coding
>scared that I will always suck at it
>would love to talk to girls regularly
>scared of brutal rejection
>...
How do I overcome this? With every activity I would love to do I feel like I am not enough and don't have the genetic pre-requisites for it.

You will suck at everything you try but if you do it long enough you will stop sucking and get good. This is true of every single skill. If you immediately give up on something because you initially suck at it you will never get good at anything and you'll be posting this exact meme in 10 years except you'll be in your 30s.

Actively seek failure in all things
    >would love to lift weights
Lift weights and fail your reps. You learn how to gauge your limits and bail safely.
    >scared that I will always look dyel
You already have body dismorphia, lifting weights won't change that. You've failed there already. Embrace the failure.
    >would love to study computer engineering at university
    >scared that I am too stupid
The vast majority of people (99.99999%) aren't naturally talented at things like science and maths. They have just worked at it.
    >would love to learn coding
    >scared that I will always suck at it
Yeah, most people do suck at it. Most people also won't even know where and how you've failed - only you will.
    >would love to talk to girls regularly
    >scared of brutal rejection
Go out and get rejected. Its not that bad. There are as many girls as there are opportunities to talk to them. Who cares if they reject you. You'll never see them again.

I think this is how you end up depressed.

        Anonymous

You end up depressed because you are intellectually and emotionally paralysed by choice. Once you overcome the fear of having to make a decision depression is impossible. You do this by seeking out failure.

If you find success in all things you are underachieving, and lead a fragile life of positive confirmation. All it takes is one thing to go wrong and your entire life begins to crumble.

Geewhiz. You just summed up my life in one sentence. Saving this.

There are only three possible causes for depression.
        A) someone has died and you are feeling appropriately devastated.
        B) yo brain jeans don work sun (a fraction of a percentage of people)
        C) you are not doing the basic things you are supposed to
Anything else is just cope and a fundamental misunderstanding of what depression is. It's not an existential crisis. It's not lack of purpose or waifu. It's not the inability to meet fickle and arbitrary expectations you thought of and applied to yourself just two seconds ago.
Depression is a state that the mind and body goes into and out of when tired, when stressed, when sad. Depression as it is commonly discussed is just the 'extreme' of these states and it can be reversed, temporarily or permanently, by entering other states.

I had parents who actively tried to discourage me and infantilize me, took a lot of realization that nobody really gives a shit whether you fail or not except yourself. Some people want to see you not even try so they can control you better. If its just you who cares if you fail at least you tried it.

assuming you are the type of person I think you are, you are already a major loser/failure. You are scared of looking dumb or inept, but you are already at the bottom of the social hierarchy, Unless you get a drug addiction or end up in jail, you are already at rock bottom, you cant go any lower, you have nothing to fear, you have nothing to lose. You are afraid because of your massive ego yet you have nothing to justify your ego

      1. Lose the ego/pride. Tell yourself "I am already at rock bottom, I have nothing to lose."
      2. Remind yourself no one gives a frick about you, really, no one in public cares about you no one is paying attention to you unless you smell like shit or are deformed
      3. Start establishing habits a little bit at a time

      >nobody really gives a shit whether you fail or not except yourself
You both are wrong though. If you fail university classes then you never graduate. You will have no friends or colleagues because nobody likes a failure, you cannot help anyone and constantly need help yourself. You will get no interns and no company hires a failure long-term. Even if you manage to land a job you will get fired for failing.
Girls also absolutely despise failure. You will have no money, no friends, no gf, be homeless and no skills if you always fail.

He's not completely wrong. OP is already a loser and has no friends or degree. Probably can only get a shit job in fast food at best.

If OP is a loser then there is nothing he can do about it because why did he end up in this situation? He already failed. Failure doesn't get you out of it either.

    love to lift weights
that I will always look dyel
Go do it, lifting makes you feel better on its own.
    >to stupid for computer engineering
You're probably not. If you've got ~115IQ and are willing to put in the work, you can probably manage just about any undegraduate program, though being 130+ does make it much easier. Why computer engineering specifically, though? Is this an informed decision or just a whim?
    >learn coding
It's piss easy. Literally just write code, after a few years you'll "get it". Learning about basic data structures and algorithms is a must, but it's probably best to do after you've already picked up the basics in some language.

Funny because my IQ is exactly 115. Why computer engineering? I want to know how computers work from the ground up. I learned some higher maths, did some coding in C and even looked into compiler construction a bit but gave up once hard problems arised (Yeah, I didn't even try to solve then, basically looked at them, "Yeah, no way I am going to solve this")
Basically, what I am terribly afraid of is that if I enroll into computer engineering, pass a few classes but then completely fail after say 2 years of putting in the work.

The only solution to your problem is doing it anyway.

If you want to train beign comfortable in your own skin you need to do discomfortable stuff.

Do the first thing on your list. get a gym card and go. Get a good program and follow it religiously until you get results.

you can only fail so many times. eventually you will learn from your mistakes and improve. the key is to actually go out and fail, go out and make those mistakes.

You're already there by taking no action.
I don't want to trivialize the fear. It's real. But you should realize that there's just as much, if not more, to fear from inaction.

    Therapy.
Also, I was OPs pic until earlier this year. Getting put on antidepressants really helped. Still have a long way ahead of me though. Did not have a plan for after school, studied for like half a semester, dropped out and was a neet for 5 years, spending the last 3 years 23 hours in bed, only showering 10 times over the course of 2021. Now I'm getting help and it got so much better. So much more energy and motivation.

Who gives a shit. Failure is inevitable. Succeed in spite of it.
I dropped my shit diet over night, never dieted before, been eating chicken nuggets and chugging coke for years.
Three months later I've consistently stuck to my diet and exercise and I've dropped 20kg.
If I can do it you can do it, and most importantly, do it for yourself, because frick everyone else.
