(how to take the)Dancepill thread

Y-day's thread sunk because I went to sleep instead of spending the night on 4chinz, but this one will be different, I promise.

Anyway, to address some valid newbie questions from the last thread:
>I like dancing but I'm too scared to ask girls to dance.
That's what the class is for. You'll be paired with girls, and changing partners usually every 2-5 minutes. You'll get a lot of practice approaching women in very short order. Probably, when you're ready, your coach will give a lesson on the etiquette of that particular scene re: approaching and asking out. That can be as simple as sticking out your hand for her, or an entire separate game, like cabeceó in tango.

>I’ve taken previous dates to salsa classes and they’re fun but I wasn’t stretching as much then so my shoulders/hips were too tight back then.
Yeah, you should definitely work on your mobility if you're gonna get into dance. Even filthy casuals like me go as far as to attend separate mobility work classes, and most schools have them.

>I'd like to try bachata, if anything because of how popular it is, but I don't want to look like a neckbeard who has never held hands with a girl. Any tips?
Shave off the neck beard, maintain high standard of personal hygiene, use a bit of perfume. You can easily find a bunch of clothing styles to imitate at your first social outing. Listen to your coach, keep your hands to appropriate zones until you're sure she's into you.

    >for most women dancing is just shaking their asses like morons
True. You avoid that by deliberately getting into more complex dances. It's a kind of filter.
    > when you try a real dance like waltz or tango, all normies will look at you disgusted for making them feel inferior
Good. Let them feel inferior. Let them see how gimped they are as you glide past them in perfect motion. On a more realistic note, you can pull normie bitches at typical social gatherings just by half-competently swaying to the music with them, if you want to (you wouldn't want to once you start getting some of that dancer poon).

    >the only guy getting pussy in the latin social dancing that gets recommended is the instructor
The instructor is either gay, married or both. In my 12+ years of dancing I've met only one instructor who was known to come on to his female students, and was made fun of due to that.
    >Contemporary and hip hop is where hot girls are.
True, but capable solo dancer girls are as often as not autistic or sociopathic. The ones that aren't eventually come around to at least partake of and enjoy social dancing anyway, and they usually compete fairly successfully. Still, if that's your thing, go for it. Solo dancing is very fun and satisfying in a different way than social.

    >picrel
    >This guy is too ugly for this girl to dance with, I wonder if she's mentally ill for dancing with such an old ugly fucker
That's the joke though, she's not. That dude is a DJ and semi-successful dance photographer, in addition to being a fairly competent dancer. That makes him high-status enough to overcome little things like being old, ugly, immigrant and so on. We've got a guy that was left semi-paralyzed by car crash, he's effectively a low-grade palsy case. And even he gets bitches. This is one of those things that's about effort more than anything else.

        >if I go to a dance studio once a week, realistically how many dates am I going to get in a year?
This is not how any of this works, anon. You go to the studio to train and advance your skill. You go to the parties to actually dance socially and meet women. At the rate of 1 training session a week, I wouldn't expect you to get attractively competent in less than half a year at least, more realistically year+. You need to step up your training.
Now, when you know your way around a woman's body, you can easily get a numbercontact about every weekend until you exhaust the capacity of the scene. If you're so inclined, you could get a date or two every week out of this.
Competitive scenes have other scenarios as well.

        > no straight man would be going to dancing classes if there were no women there.
Yeah, that's the problem. Someone somewhere successfully psyoped y'all into thinking social dancing is gay and unmanly. There's nothing further from the truth.

        >Just build yourself a chick pipeline, bro. Oh, what's that? Right, I forgot how much better than everyone who reads this. Anyways, about dance for 2,000 words...
        >I hate these dumb PUA blogs. Does your "knowledge of game" really require me to read your archive of, like, 500 articles? If there was something useful to teach, why bury it with 50 hours of reading irrelevant crap?
Yeah, PUAs are as much of a cancer on the social dancing as they are on the rw communities. Shame them, cast them out, don't let them turn your art into "pussy pool".

      >Contemporary and hip hop is where hot girls are.
As someone who has many female friends who dance contemporary and hip hop, not a single one of them will date a dancer (I mean guys who do contemporary/hip hop). They say the guys are often either gay or they are weird guys with no real skills/interests outside of dance, and that’s already something they do so they find them very boring and uninteresting.

    A few words about competitions.
Competition is fun. It's an excellent way to build and test your skill. If you find you enjoy dancing and training for it, you should probably compete, even just to see what you're capable of.

If you got into a competitive kind of dance studio or class, and keep at it, you can expect to start competing after 6-12 months of training, depending on the style. You'll fail at first, probably get dropped in the first or second heat, but that's okay. Nobody sets records on their first lifting meet either.

Depending on the rules of your particular organization, you'll probably have to get some special clothes, or better, have some custom made. It's almost always a good idea to put more effort in your look, not just because it impresses on the judges that you mean business, but because it improves your mindset.

Training for competitions is also how you get attention from high-quality females. It's totally appropriate to ask a girl of ~same competitive ranking out for a 1-on-1 training session. In some dances, you're expected to form a long-term competitive pair and train together for months, sometimes years. A goal-driven long-term relationship isn't something that's terribly abundant in society nowadays, and you'll get as much training in dealing with female behavior as in dance itself.

If your dance of choice only has casual, improvised, Jack&Jill style of competitions, it's still pretty beneficial to have a few steady training partners to practice with. Eventually, your entire training will consist of personal lessons from your coach(es), 1-on-1 self-training sessions with your partners of choice and, sometimes, mixer events where you dance with multiple partners of your level while working on your own training goals. When you get to this level, you'll see girls asking YOU out for a gym date - there's dearth of leaders, of men in every social and competitive dancing scene I know.

I'm sorry if your local salsa class looks like this, but it IS a possibility. As I've said, PUAs are cancer.

In that case, I'd try and power through to the advanced class, where the incels have been filtered out and you can actually engage meaningfully with both material being taught and women around you. As the pasta says, women hate ugly men in their spaces, and in social dancing, "ugly" is a kinesthetic qualifier dependent on skill.

Or just go look for another dance that hasn't been invaded by low-effort crowd, but in that case, take care not to actually be that low-effort crowd.

Anyway, the social scene, especially if it has a competitive side to it, quickly sorts the wheat from the chaff and the ugly incels looking for cheap thrills are left high and dry.

Webm related. This is what a typical dance weekend in Moscow looks like.

Yeah. I agree. I joined a local suburban dance class here in Chicago. We don't have Moscow level talent like shown in the vid, but its pretty decent.

A lot of bored but fit housewives, young girls looking for fun exercise / social and pretty cool guys. The ratio is 20% male / 80% female usually.

To your point, most of the loser sociopaths quit pretty cool when they realize that even desperate middle aged women are not attracted to loser, basement incelsl.

Its a great exercise event, and a great test boosting situation. Being in close physical contact with random women really does make you more assertive emotionally in the real world.

I highly recommend it. My favorite dances are traditional ballroom due to my fantasy one day of being at a James Bond like embassy dance.

By the way, I'm happily married with 4 kids and don't go there to get laid. My wife comes occassionally but is totally cool with me dancing with women because I don't cheat (I work a pretty high level job at a mass marketed energy beverage company where I am around sexy women daily). Maybe its why I like the dance class so much, I actually enjoy embracing fit women who are good at dancing but I have no actual intent of fucking them ever.

I would like to try dancing, but I'm not really interested in salsa. I don't know too much about contemporary dancing, and although I find hip hop style really cool I just hate the music. What are my options? I would just like to be less tense with my body and learn to relax more/less thinking
(also not doing this to meet girls I'm already married)

Do contemp then. It's pretty fun and engaging, if you find the right coach. I do it to increase my choreo range and mobility.

I feel that this is correct. Especially with all the gayry on the instagram dance scene right now, with dudes dancing in high heels and whatnot.

      Wow nice effort post.

Good to hear dance classes in the eastern block are full of chucklefucks desperately trying to get laid. At least they're trying.

Dancing is fun, anon. It's enjoyable cardio, can get you laid, and builds confidence. Give it a shot.

After all, what's a kiss less nuclear dragged like you really got to lose?

Good plan. Spain is known for its dance culture, you can get into all kinds of fun stuff there.

do you happen to know where I can learn solo dance moves for techno music that go beyond uncontrolled spastic movements?

Youtube, I guess. You can always invent your own moves for any music you hear, but this requires a large vocabulary of movement patterns in your brain.

You watch too many fem movies mf

Yeah, swing is cool. The scene I'm in - Russian Discofox - has a lot of overlap with European West Coast Swing scene, especially at the top end, so we're all passingly familiar with WCS. Quite a few people I know compete in both. WCS is fairly popular across Europe.

That's not consistent with my experience.
Maybe in USA, where every social space that's even remotely accessible and aesthetic will be overrun with progs as soon as they learn of it. European swing scene is fairly based and chill, if not outright trad. Definitely less gay than combat arms units, I tell you hwat.

That's weird. I'd assume that a Latino-heavy place like Cali would have way more people in the salsa crowd. Maybe you're just not invited to the cool parties? But hey, what do I know?

That's about the usual makeup of a dance class I've seen around here. Bored housewives are probably the most fun part.

That got weirdly specific, but yes: jealousy wrecks relationships really fast, and dancing with a bunch of strange women can accelerate that. On the other hand, women who themselves dance are chill and understanding about that sort of thing, and less prone to grinding your brain in general. Just keep it in your pants.

Yet again - that's what the dance school is for. You get to learn what's proper and appropriate in class, you learn how to gauge the girl's reaction in practice, and you learn if she likes you or not at the party, and if not - no skin off your back, move on.
Just don't try to speedrun this, it's better to be subtle and make her show you some signs of attention than to come on too strong when there's no chemistry.
And yeah, the women around here... the feels I get just walking around in the summer, not to mention on the dancefloor...

Live in the sticks, there are no dance classes here.
