How can you as a grown man not run a sub 6 minute mile?

      >How can you as a grown man not run a sub 6 minute mile?
Because even though a mile is trivially short to anyone with endurance training, it's well beyond the sprinting distances an untrained body is still able to naturally run using just your basic fight or flight reflexes. Yes, most grown males can run at a sub 6 minute mile PACE but they quickly peter out after about a quarter mile. That said, with even a month of training they can get to the point they can maintain that pace for the full mile.

haven't roon'd in a while tho. Wonder if I can still do 6:30 miles. Back then it was standard pace for 10km runs which I was doing three times a week. Used to love rooning.

If you're running on a treadmill you want to run at a 1.0 incline to simulate the resistance you'd normally get from the air when running normally. You ran the equivalent of a slightly downhill course. It's not much of a difference, no more than 10s, but it's disingenuous to call that a mile PR if it is your PR.

didnt know i needed to set it at an incline, thanks, next time ill try that, i do most of my running on the street though, i dont have a timer or watch so my only timed runs are on the treadmill
