Their body has adapted to only be able to do things related to sedentary life so probably enough to like get up and walk around a bit and bend over but their heart capacity is way reduced and their are unlikely to be able to do much more than help lift a 50 lb object

I lived like that. My lifts were about half of what an untrained person can lift.

I'll never forget the time some dude who worked at sm Engineering company told me he loved his sedentary job. They paid him to recover. I think his exact words were "nothing like recovering on company time". Kind of a gamechanger mindset for me in regards to my email job. Once I started taking my time in the gym more seriously, I realized how right he was. Just get up and walk every now and then.

You can't do extra workouts with a physical labour job. You are dead tired every day and can only lay dead recovering on weekends. These jobs always made me muscular and ok looking (and dead-end coworkers mega jelly) but I'm a small small minority. 95% of my colleagues were fat/skinny fat/dyel or simply ugly non fit looking. Maybe shit avg genetics, maybe alcohol I dunno. I ate shit and my genetics still carried me.

Manual labour jobs are the worst base for bodybuilding. They suck all your energy and break down your body. Unhealthy as shit and stressful as you gotta work hard so the women in hr or other departments doing nothing productive will get thier wages worth produced too...

I didn't understand the concept of "hatewatching" someones' content until I ran across this guy.

Holy shit, the guy is moronic, like the worst case of arrested development. First off, he looks like he's never done anything physical in his entire life, and I really don't understand how he isn't ridiculously fat considering all he drinks is soda and junk food. Secondly, I've seen his community praise him to no end for the most basic b***h, middle of the road, common sense political takes as if he's the fricking messiah, and people calling him "based" or whatever the frick even though he banned the TriHard emote in chat because muh racism (making fun of Southern white people with KKona is A-OK though).

On top of all that, he's not even that fricking good at videogames, despite dedicating his life to them. Even his main game, WoW, he isn't impressive in. Maybe once upon a time he was hot shit, but he just farms transmog and gets carried in raids/pvp now.

I'm so fricking glad I didn't turn out to be like this weak little shit, because I so easily could have. I guess that's where my hate for him comes from, because I see a weak fricking nerd walking the same path I did, and I know he isn't going to change for the better.

You can tell they are trained to think that way because whenever you speak of someone else they atomically think you are either a fan of them or in "their group" or you are belonging to their group enemy. You can no longer criticize someone without being against them, you can no longer criticize someones critique of someone without being fan of that person they criticized or part of that person's group. That said, the guy has achieved excellence in the field that he was going for - creating content and earning money. If we compare him to you, he has way more achieved than you are. So a certain amount of respect is warranted, even if you don't agree with his life goals. The guy probably earns more in a year than you will in your entire life.

You are saying this on the wrong board. Do you not know that everyone on fit is rich? Everyone has a white collar job. Engineer, softeare, programmer, doctor, lawyer, investment banker, etc. There are fit job threads every few days and everyone is these things, and in other threads, people talk about their high salaries in the first sentence of unrelated threads.

As someone who was completely sedentary until the start of this year ( as in, not even in high school did I do physical activity )
Pretty fricking weak, no stamina. It is absolutely tragic and you won't be able to know how weak you truly are until you actually try to improve.
    My stats before improoving:
    -0 max pull up
    -0 max push up
-2 minutes of jogging would have me completely out of breath
-Not sure what my max bench was, I could bench the bar but not significantly more than that
My stats now after 9 weeks of starting:
    -2 max pull ups
-unknown max push ups, I should probably find out
-30 minute jog, recovery while still walking at a power walk pace

incredibly weak. But not in the sense that they can’t OHP a heavy box of tools onto the shelf in the garage (which, don’t get me wrong, they can’t do) - it’s more sinister than that. What I’m talking about here is core, back, and leg strength.
I went paddle boarding with some friends this weekend - a couple, both of whom are very sedentary. We were standing and paddling for 2 hours max, with a long break in the middle for drinks and rest. Towards the end of this two hours, they were basically ready to collapse. 2 hours of standing and moving was enough to ruin these people for the rest of the day.
What’s so sinister about this situation? Not the immediate fact that these two young people can’t be active for a single afternoon. No, it’s the fact that decades of this sedentary lifestyle will result in their later years being defined by immobility, reliance on outliers for basic actions, and general wretchedness as they age.

Pic highly rel. I recommend a follow.

that pic is a grim reminder of the fact that most immobile old people are just like that because they stopped doing any sort of exercise.

        Anonymous

This is largely true, barring the case of an extreme injury that prohibits them from being physically active long enough that it becomes near impossible for them to catch back up. I used to work with the elderly and the ones who would do anything to avoid moving lost whatever mobility they had fast. If you have older people in your life that you care about, encourage them to keep their weight under control and keep. them. moving. Resist the urge to do everything for them.

I lived this life up until about 30. When I started lifting I was exceptionally weak, weighing less than 120lbs at my worst. Could barely manage an empty bar OHP, couldn't even un-rack 35kg on a bench press, let alone press it. When I'd see similarly weak looking men on public transport I'd feel this irrational hatred for them, knowing I looked just like them.

It took me 6 to 12 months to get to the average strength of an untrained male. I'm about 2 years in now and just hitting novice level lifts, still dyel and probably will be for a while. Making progress every week though.

He has known the mother for 2 decades, and shes kinda hot fo someone in her late mid to late 40's not going to lie.
    >her son is a zoomer who he hired p/t to mix reagents and solvents and do qr logging for compounds
    >he has no work ethic
    >never changes garbages
    >mother babies him
    >i geuss she feels sorry for him because he lost out on high school experience cause of convid
    >he decides to take a year off before going to college/uni
    >doesn't work out, a few times I told him he should hit the gym
    >"But anon Muh Covid"
    >my dad tells his mom he needs to do some physical activities
    >she says it's hard to motivate when there is no father figure
    >bring him out on my brothers boat and this guy looks like he's having the worst day
    >my dad says we should just get him a hooker to boost his confidence
    >the kid just wants to stay at home play vidya

Kind of feel bad for him but he's been given tons of opportunities. Oh and when we were on the boat he was the only guy with a mask on. Some people just have no hope.

Couldn't agree more. My Dad told me he asked him to move a T tank filled with nitrogen to a corner and he tried to zercher carry it I geuss and ended up fricking up his back and is now on light duties in a lab. The tank was empty but all he had to do was roll it over.

Damn he sounds just like my friends younger brother, all around clueless zoomer. His mother is holding him back by letting him freeload on her back. I like the guy but he never tries and stops at first difficulty.

Never met such an unmotivated kid in my life. My brother in law who is a year younger than him has managed to get his license a job in construction with my brother for the summer and is going to school in the fall. And he's been lifting for rugby. I think when you dont have strong male figures in your family to help you out when you're going through life you're just destined to fail.
