I am autistically researching every aspect of my workout: Optimal supplementation, optimal rest between sets (and setting a timer), optimal maximum reps, what to do before lifting, what do after, how much calories i should eat pre-workout and post-workout, if it's okay to drink creatine and whey before or after, running schedule, if it's interfering with gains, how many 10K runs are optimal per week and when it's getting detrimental etc. And i am autistically keeping my schedule like a hardcore disciplined pro-athlete preparing for the olympics.

What the frick is wrong with me?

Nothing. That's pretty awesome anon. If more people were as rigorously disciplined as you this world wouldn't be going to shit

There are worse things to be obsessive over

Nothing wrong with that. There are far worse things to obsess over. Hell, get super jacked and make $50-$200 an hour as a high tier personal trainer

I actually had that idea in mind...but i am a boomer...so...i dunno how feasible it would be. I actually developed a running plan for an unfit mate of mine, and we ran together a few times. But alas, he gave up eventually. As for now i just enjoy the ride on my own.

Nobody gives a frick about your age, especially if you have an amazing physique to show them as proof of your methods. People will pay your exorbitant amounts of money to look like you.

That's good to know. Im going to keep improoooving and see where the journey leads me. Maybe personal training is really an option because it's fricking fun to challenge myself daily.

I do. It gives me a sense of purpose and progress after years of depression. I just don't it to slip into an unhealthy obsession.

That is a good thing to an extent. Just don’t get “paralysis by analysis” and don’t be afraid to try something new if it seems interesting. Like if you find a certain approach that seems cool, there’s no harm in trying it for a bit

Start by not using buzzwords, they kill gains.

As long as you're doing this alongside actually training you are golden.

don't focus on what coaches tell you, that's a guideline. in the end you'll have to develop your own training around how you respond to different stimuli

I actually realized that I enjoy tracking cutting/bulking/lifting etc. I don't know if it comes from my background of playing Runescape and grinding for over 40 000 hours or just that I'm austistic but it feels like I'm playing a minigame.

I get this little sense of achievement everyday when I hit my macros, stay under calorie goal, have a good workout and do 1 more rep than last week etc. And on the larger scale I see my body "leveling up". I didn't train and ate completely free for all during my summer vacation and I'm so excited to start again. I'm genuinely excited to start eating autistically again and reap the benefits in the gym.

That's exactly how i see it too: like a game of some sort. Like you i was a heavy hardcore gamer until i "woke up" and realized that i am wasting precious RL time. Time that i could spend way better...like getting ripped and fit instead of sitting on my ass all day.

Just be sure to actually work out even if it's not perfect. The most important thing is to do it and be consistent

If you lifted more than you researched you would realize that it all just comes down to lift, eat, sleep, repeat and you are fine tuning things that make up like 5% of your potential gains.

Awful approach. You're gonna burn out in a few weeks and stop. Just do pic related for 2-3 years.
