I am tired of all the nonsense. Just give it to me straight?

I am tired of all the nonsense. Just give it to me straight IST. I don't care about its bulking properties here obviously nobody would bulk eating this. All I want to know is if oatmeal is good for you. Most info I see about it indicates it is good but I want to get a IST approved analysis here.

Oatmeal is something I never even used to care for until suddenly I ate it and learned that I love it. Its a lot better than cereal.

Oatmeal is good for you. Good balance of fiber, carbs, and protein. People frick up by thinking it always has to be prepared to be sweat. Steel cut oats and wheat berries go fine with savory meals. Add spices, cumin, pepper, maybe some eggs and cheese.

It has stanols and fibers that are good for heart health too. I either make it savory for lunch if with casein powder and fruit.

You don't get all the nutrients from any food. I'm not really sure what this is supposed to mean. I've eaten a ton of oats on bulks and bulked fine, clearly I'm getting the calories.

Oats are bad on account of the anti-nutrients they contain, however its not that big of a deal if you really love oatmeal, if you arent symptomatic of deficiency.

I'd rate them 3/10, plus side is they give you carbs, but there are much better sources and most people dont need any more carbs.

oatmeal is fine. you’re going to see attacks from two camps:
    >paleo homosexual moron SCUM
they’re going to b***h about oatmeal having phytic acid and shit. nonsense. is phytic acid an “antinutrient?” sure, it slows iron and calcium absorption (arguably.) know what oatmeal is a good source of when prepared? calcium and iron. know what phytic acid is? an antioxidant. if you’re literally deficient in a mineral, then be cautious, but if you’re not a paleo gay or a vegan you’re 90% likely to have no deficiency. they’re also going to argue that FIBER of all things is bad. LMFAO. if you’re american you’re probably not eating enough fiber. why do you think metamucil is clinically proven to reduce digestive cancers? because it literally gets americans to baseline. oatmeal is easy calories, easy carbs, and nutritious. if I’m going out to chop wood for hours, if I’m going on a long hunt (tracking longhorn, moose, elk over days) or hike, oatmeal is my breakfast for energy, simple as.
    >next camp is ANTI GLYPHOSATE HIPPIES
these gays may be onto something. simply buy organic rolled oats with low glyphosate. done.

Fasting without meat is just church tradition it's not in the bible except for Daniel's fast afaik. I did Orthodox fasts a few years ago. I think it can be a good practice that builds discipline but you still need to get your protein and amino acids unless you want to lose gains so you gotta do it the right way. Maybe whole milk and protein powder while fasting to help keep a good profile. I'd ask your priest about it I'm sure he'd understand. IMO it's about giving up something you like for the discipline I mentioned as well as observance of the saint or holiday, but you still don't want to lose essential nutrients. You need more while working out.

                >I'd ask your priest about it I'm sure he'd understand.
I asked him, but even if the priest is against the will of Christ you don't have to obey him. Let's say for example he says:
                >It's ok to wear a mask inside the Church because of the new measures of the goverement.
You will simply not obey him because that's not what Christ wants.

Anyway you have to live with the will of God and not with yours, im not here to preach because i don't really fast and sin most days, it's good to have a plan b for the days that it's required for you to fast. I made it 40 days in Christmas and i didn't really lose any gains.

                >Christian Orthodox
                >thinking abstaining from meats is in the bible

fasting in general sure, but abstaining from meats is dumb and anti-biblical

I'd argue God endorses a highly animal based diet in Genesis with Cain and Abel

                >abstaining from meats is dumb and anti-biblical
                Not true lol

Bread was enjoyed by kings and peasants alike. Kings just ate whit bread while peasants ate whole wheat. Don’t be moronic

The peasantry ate FAR more grains than those who had choice in what to eat, but yes the pharaohs also got the degenerative diseases associated with agriculture due to grain consumption

Lol what, bread was part of their daily lives. Kings and peasants easily ate a loaf of bread a day and drank a liter of beer.

Yes, bread was in their diet, but at a lower proportion since it wasnt a high class food

and we know they ate bread because they got degenerative grain diseases, just like modern people who eat grains

You don’t have any clue what your talking about. White bread was high class food and was enjoyed by nobility and seen as a status symbol along with baked goods. The nobles literally ate worse diets than peasants. They had shitty glutinous foods high in simple carbs cause they were rich. The warriors through time have always subsisted off of grains since it was a shelf stable light caloric dense food that could be easily transported. The meme that warriors and nobles ate meat is completely bogus and spouted by historylets

                >The nobles literally ate worse diets than peasants
maybe late medieval or early moderns, but since the time of the pharaohs kings enjoyed more meat and animal products than peasantry

Yes kings have always enjoyed more wild big game and chicken(funny enough), but peasants still had a consistent diet of fish and small game. This does change the fact that bread was the backbone of their diet and enjoyed with almost every meal.

The biggest metaanalysis on plant vs animal protein found that if you hold macros and key micros constant, and look only at men who train regularly, muscle mass is statistically identical for full vegans as it is for people who eat meat. Meat eaters had a statistically significant lower amount of body fat, but the effect was miniscule, less than half a percent of body fat difference.

This has been looked at a lot. For example: https://www.health.com/nutrition/vegetarian-protein-animal-protein-build-muscle

                https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/523682

I haven't noticed a difference. Having cut for sports I do to 145 I bulked back to 180 while on an almost entirely vegan diet. It was the quickest I've put on that much mass, but I think that owes to me having been heavier (while lean) before. I don't think plant diets are better, you have to be very careful to do a full vegan diet like and supplement some things, but I also see little evidence it makes much of a difference at all. Consistency of training, eating clean, hitting your macros, and avoiding injury and layoffs are all more important.

you cant trick people with 'studies' when anyone with eyes or a brain can observe vegans in the real world and draw the conclusions you fear so much. Also, confirmed you're a vegan shill.

You have to eat a shit load of plants to meet your daily essential amino acid levels. Yes you can do it, but it's why most vegans look like unhealthy freaks. They all talk of how healthy it is but don't eat the amounts required of the specific plants they need. They have to eat like 3-5 different plants just to get what's in a tiny ass steak. If you don't do it right you are also putting strain on your heart. Don't try to talk average people into vegan, you have to pay WAY more attention to everything you eat for zero benefit.

Try actually reading on the subject. This is an asspull hypothesis. The mechanism of action for the connection to farming is that better organized, more complex societies allow for less fit individuals to reproduce, and so the diet isn't a direct causal factor on brain size, but how agriculture changes fitness odds.

But even here this hypothesis has been shot to shit because descendants of people who were recently hunter gatherers don't have bigger brains and brain size begins dropping off in areas long before agriculture is established.

So what gives? Humans had larger brains before in part because they were larger. Height is just now reaching pre-ice age levels in northern Europe. Average weight for human males fell from 176-186lbs down to 130-150 in many places. Brain size drops around the same time.

This seems to reflect a dramatic drop in calories due to climate change. If agriculture was the main culprit then HGs that survived to the 20th century should have larger brains. They don't.

Places that developed agriculture later should have later declines.

Second, bigger isn't necessarily better. Toddler brains have way more neurons and synapses. You get functionality by pruning tons of these in the same way you have more marble in a block, and chisel away to make a sculpture.

Human weight in fat countries only recently passed archaic human weight, but obviously way more of that is fat. It took vaccines and modern nutrition to get height back to where it was. The ice age dramatically effected human evolution.

However, only after it do we see modern human behaviors and civilization. So instead of crying about our lost Chadom, it may very well be that the culling and harsh conditions of the ice age actually acted as a selection filter for more efficient metabolism and better reasoning capabilities, resulting in a species that could rise up to space travel, etc.

Not that youre wrong but keep in mind some of the "recent hunter gatherers" they mention are joggers so take what they say about that specific part with a grain of salt. IMO they can't be used to study anything about our ancestors because they didn't ever do, invent, or discover anything.
