Did you bulk because you needed to or because some homosexual told you to?

i was told body recomp was bad for building muscle

        Anonymous

That's because it is unless you're a dyel still in the beginner gains phase. Gotta gain weight to gain muscle, but some of that weight is inevitably fat. You then cut down afterwards, rinse and repeat until you reach your natty limit.

          Anonymous

how do you prevent losing muscles when cutting?

            Anonymous

You will lose muscle no matter what (unless you roid) but less than you gained from the bulk leading to net progress. The trick is to not go too fast. Stick with 1lb a week, maintain protein intake, do not slack on your lifts even as they go down.

    Bulk more

bulking/cutting does make more gains than recomp, but if you're a beginner usually better to just recomp. you're supposed to bulk with a very very slight calorie surplus anyways

      Anonymous

this tbh. You can't gain more than about 1kg of muscle a month without roids no matter how much you eat, gaining anything more you're just putting on fat unnecessarily

it's literally a fact, people who go on big bulks are just gaining a ton of fat that makes them look bigger until they have to cut again.

        what about sarms

          Anonymous

SARMs are like roids but shittier. They have all the same side effects but with less muscle growth. The only reason they get shilled so much is because the law hasn't caught up to banning them yet so every other zoomer at the gym is taking them. Even my normie sister knows the term SARMs goblin because of how widespread it is in her school.

    >JUST RECOMP BRO
Fricking morons, you realize every single DYEL who looks the same year round is already doing that, right?

Yes, all those guys you see at the gym that look the same as they did last year? Yeah, they're eating @ maintenance, because they didn't make any changes upwards or downwards in total bodyweight, hence they're eating @ maintenance, and look what eating maintenance calories does for them..... NOTHING, and what do you think recomp means? Recomp means eating at MAINTENANCE CALORIES in same delusional belief you can use energy from stored fat as a "calorie surplus" to gain muscle so long as you're eating a lot of protein within your maintenance calorie intake.

THATS NOT HOW THE HUMAN BODY WORKS YOU FRICKING moronic c**tS

No, most DYELs bulk and gain muscle/fat then cut and lose muscle/fat and look the same.

      Anonymous

Fat people can gain muscle while on an energy deficit and losing fat. This proves that you don't need an energy surplus to gain muscle. The process of protein synthesis is separate from fat loss or gain. Two completely different systems and genes.

Do extra's. Add more volume. Whether it's sets of 4 x 10, going heavier and just doing less reps or my favourite way of doing volume is starting at the heaviest weight you can for 10, going down the next with no rest for another 10 and incrementally decreasing the weight until you're doing 1 kgx 10.

                Anonymous

What do you mean by good enough? You can do them if you really like them but you don't really lose anything but mixing up your curls. Zottman's, concentration, barbell drags, single arm cables, double arm cables. All perfectly fine to mix up as you like.

Not him but I damn near go to failure on my curls. I do alternating regular DB curls, then later on I do hammer curls on the preacher bench.

You might find out ez bar curls are better, or some other variation.

1lb a week is excruciatingly slow. That's usually over half a year before you get anywhere, not counting the weeks you frick up in. I say just wing it with a low calorie diet and as long as he's losing less than 3lbs a week he should be fine. If he does 1lb a week by the time he reached his desired weight he could have cut twice as fast then put any extra muscle lost back on afterwards again.

You will always lose muscle on a cut. That is why powershitter competitions are full of bloatlords. Look at this chart for deadlifting - so if you're a novice but you weigh 250lbs you can expect to beat an ELITE deadlifter that weighs 110lbs. And if you're a complete beginner at 250lbs, beginner dyel barely picked up a weight before - you can expect to perform better than an advanced powerlifter that's 110lbs - LOL. If you're novice at 310lbs, you'll still be able to outlift an ELITE at 140lbs, and 140lbs is not some freakish low weight.

So you will always lose muscle when cutting, it's not fair.

Having to do a whole nother bulk and cut cycle because you wasted away all your muscle cutting 2.5lbs a week is even slower, unless you're a beginner with no muscle to lose in which case you should take advantage of recomp still working for you.

    now you... lose weight!?!?!?!
I know, how could I come up with this, you may ask. Well, when one gets fat, the only natural course of action to take is to either get fatter or fitter
