I can squat two plates but I still cant see any muscle definition in my legs. Is that normal?

I can squat two plates but I still can’t see any muscle definition in my legs. Is that normal? When will I actually be able to see my quads and hamstrings?

      I’m 6’1 and 175 lbs. Fat isn’t the issue.

How long have you been training legs and at what frequency per week? Ive only trained legs seriously for 6 months and i squat 4 plates, with chunky quads.

Been training seriously for 6 months, usually do legs twice a week

Legs get big, they don't get defined like abs.

          >he thinks 225 is an impressive squat

I know it’s not impressive but I think it’s the point where you should see some kind of muscle definition.

            >see definition
Legs aren't supposed to be trained for definition though. Just keep getting stronger and they'll start to look better as you go heavier. Unironically just keep adding weight and stay consistent.

How visible are the rest of your muscles? Maybe a solid recomp is in order (not a cut)

Muscles are visible everywhere else, I think maybe I just hold most of my fat in my legs

Fat is the issue. I could squat 2 plates at 6'0 155 and could clearly see my quads.

Full ROM lmao2plaet squats WILL build your legs, especially with squat shoes which shift the load onto your quads. If you're training for hypertrophy, go past 90 degrees.

strength does not equate to muscle size volume

      Anonymous

It doesn't equate but it's pretty fricking close. People who say otherwise are morons that refuse to look at the blatant reality of muscle mass in the face. Muscular people are strong people.

When people say they squat 2 plates, that means 2 each side, right?

      Anonymous

No, they mean they put two plates directly on their back. No bar.

I use a backpack to hold the plates more easily, otherwise I find they tend to slide off

Probably bc your volume is lacking. Try sets of 185 for 20 and see if that doesn't grow your legs. It most likely will

How to get balanced leg fyziik like this? I hate the chicken drumstick look my thighs have, the outer quad being by far larger than the inner side
    Is it just genetics?

      Anonymous

i think it's genetics. my legs have always been naturally big, even untrained. now my quads are pretty big and my inner thigh is as well, but there is almost zero definition. it's just bad luck really. at least my abs look kinda good i guess.

      yes
      >your glutes touching your achilles deep
no, ankle movement and the limbs length aren't equal for everyone, if the first you can train the 2nd is a physical limitation

2pl8s is shit my dude if you want real definition you gotta double that.

Muscular definition comes from doing high reps 10-20

Upper body responds best to 10 reps

Lower body responds best to 20 reps

This is for having muscular looking body, not for strength
