I cant cope with the fact that im nearly 30

any oldcels here? how do you cope with getting older, not just gymwise, but in whole life aspect

How the fuck did that happen? It's so fucking funny and sad at the same time. We used to be young, and now we are old men. I always used to be the young dude who would hit on MILFs and GILFs, and suddenly I'm 30..fuck this gay life, i cant fucking cope

      Bulking rn because I keep getting bullied by my 15yo brother (inb4 underaged, I'm 30 ; ;).

40 year old reporting in. Time is running out. I value my routine and habits. Every night I put a CD in my stereo and go through a simple exercise routine. I'm becoming more of a minimalist. I pack away things I don't or won't use and make lists of how I want to spend my time. I put one foot in front of the other to keep suicide away. It's ironic that I work more on self-improvement than happy non-suicidal people do, but that's just the way it is.

Had a woman guess that I was in my twenties and that was before I shaved.

Your 30’s are the best decade of life, lots of money, lots of free time, good health, no responsibilities, can go after women of any age since you are still in peak physical condition and they all have daddy issues. 40 is when it’s going downhill fast.

mid 20s here but similar feel. Obviously there's no stopping or reversing time, you'll die eventually, but the best compromise I can come up with is unrelentingly pursuing novelty or goals. After all, isn't that what youth is? Besides the physical aspects? It's looking at the world through the lens of 'the world is my oyster'.

tl:dr. Get some long term goals and new hobbies.

This isn't like a "man up" type of post but you genuinely sound like a woman anon. Use the fear of getting nearer to death perhaps but if you're ageing poorly or sad that your twink days are over that's on you and the culture you maintain. I like being better skilled, better status and etc and richer than I used to be. Am doing fasting and yoga regularly on top of my programming, eat well and aside from being less explosive than like my early 20's I can't tell much difference physically. That's probably genetic too but w/e. Life is good even in these times. If you're living hard, wagecucking too hard (idiot) etc that's something that is going to JUST you in your 30's long term, even late 20's and maybe irreversibly.

39 here. If you want to have children, do it within the next 2-3 years max. Or it will no shit be too late. If I had a kid tomorrow I would be 58 when they graduate high school. In my sixties when they finish college. I’d never live to see grandkids probably.

Having kids and building a family is a critical part of life. Don’t take it lying down. If you can land a decent woman who you can see building a family with - go with it. Don’t be afraid.

    Also

    >don’t injure your back. Lift with your legs, never help Boomers lift things because they will flake/bail/get distracted/stroke out leaving you to get hurt.

    >don’t eat crap or at least not often
    >find a kind of exercise that you like and do it as often as practical
    >family matters. The most precious thing in this world is people who love you and care about. The other 99.99999999% of humanity does not give the slightest fuck about you. So those few loved ones matter. And you can make more of them, by being a good friend, neighbour and pillar of your community. As well as being a good, patient and loving parent to many children. You can also lose loved ones through carelessness. So take care.

    >have fun. You are here to witness Creation. So witness it and enjoy the experience for its own sake.

    Getting older sucks.

I turned 30 this year. My life is good on paper. "Good Looking", make over 100K a year, my fiance earns triple what I make, we own our home, etc.

But it just feels like I'm going through the motions. My corporate job is just boring and meaningless - I'm not inspired at all. My life is the worst routine where Monday - Thursday are just work and trying to not think about work. I'm jealous of my friends who are NEETs who spend all day working out and having a stress free life.

All I think about is having enough money to not have to work ever again, quitting my job, and taking a year to get insanely fit / "find what my purpose is".

Realistically though, I need to reinvent my routine. Go to bed earlier, set strict working hours, incorporate daily exercise. Also need to be more purposeful with what I want to achieve - physically, mentally, etc. Life is short, I'm still pissed COVID robbed me of my late 20s.

Life is pretty bad unless you have the knowledge and strength to live it right. I feel so clueless. I am 22 yo and I barely know myself. I keep having to make choices and I just don't know which ones I should make. I keep letting myself down and repeating the past no matter how hard I try. This overwhelming sadness weights on my shoulders and eyes every day. I feel completely lost. I feel like I am just spinning in circles until one day I die like every other human being. Now I just remembered about a childhood friend who died last year. He was murdered with knives and stones. He is gone and so will be all of us soon. I wish that in the mean time I knew what I am doing. All these feelings are trapped within me and I have no one to share them with or to take them away from me. I keep lifting, but I don't even know why. I am just a bunch of meat and bones. I really don't know the meaning of things.

Just gotta live it, buddy. More opportunities will pop up for you as you hit a more respectable age and build up experience. I was an alcoholic burnout for most of my 20s, but the one thing I did well was just put time into my field, and at age 29 and a net worth of -$4,000 I finally got a decently high-paying job, bought a house, started making it mine and found a love for landscaping and gardening with a net worth of like $20,000. Future's honestly looking pretty bright at this point. Just keep putting in the work.
I will say that it's getting harder to meet women, and I don't pull as much as I did in my early 20s (not always at bars--not enough free time), but at this point I'm looking to settle down. You've gotta adjust your life a little bit, but it's nothing to hate or be afraid of. Learn to find a love for the change.
You're gonna be all right. Take care of yourself, young blood. After you break past 30 you'll realize that nothing really changes. It's been a slow evolution since you were born, and the digits don't mean dick.

Jesus go on and start a mission to save us exactly at 30 years old of age. Why do you think is that? Because that's where your age is the "Prime" age for a man where you have truly mature body & mind.
30 is a peak Top condition for a man. So go do what you must do and live to the fullest fellow bro in Christ.

Me myself have reach 40 this month. While my condition is not the same like in my 30 its not much different. Just need more rest but it still manageable as long as you keep your body fit and in healthy weight. If youre worried about getting older, then you're not accomplishing your goals in life. Getting older should mean more money, more social connections, more network connections, more events to attend, more opportunities to meet girls. If you're not at this point yet, you should be shooting to get their quicker.

Your body replaces cells as they mutate or die. However, much like a photocopy of a photocopy, the replacements are a little less perfect each time. Around the age of 28, you are no longer replacing cells effectively.

What that means is after the age of 28, approximately, you are actively in the process of dying because your cells are being destroyed faster than they can be replaced and the replacements are more and more imperfect each time.

it seems like when most men turn 30 their life becomes just work until you die. No more goals or aspirations, just wageslavery. If you have a regular job that doesn't really allow for expansion or promotion you probably should have a family so you at least have something to get up for, you if you hate your job, for the love of god get a different job

So many 30s go "Its over for me." Ok, understand this. If you live to 80, you still have 50 years of life left. If you retire at 70, you still have 70 years of work left. You will work for FOUR MORE DECADES. And you think its "over" for you?

A lot more yet to live but its all garbage because everyone is older, uglier, busier. At 20 it's easier to make friends, to find love, everyone is beautiful. It's the opposite when you are older. Late bloomers are better of killing themselves.

I used to live with several anxiety and depression all throughout my 20's, am 33 now. Don't have that shit anymore but still look back sometimes and realise what i missed. But then I realise that you're still a child in your 20s and not the adult you think you are. Your 30's are awesome! You don't give a shit about societal norms anymore and you're mentally a step ahead. I frequently fart in front of people at the gym now, don't feel ashamed at all, I need to fart so I fart. Fuck those small 20's fuckbois. Sometimes I moan like a woman fucking I porn while lifting too, just because its fun. Sometimes I fart and moan like a woman at the same time. A couple of days ago a guy was reracking his plates wrong and I know that he does it because he doesn't care. So I went up to him and started to rack them right in front of him while holding eye contact and singing WAP.

I turned 30 in July. I still feel like I'm 20something, probably because I did nothing with my life throughout my 20s and feel like I missed out.

I broke up with my ex in 2015, became depressive, quit studying, quit working and did nothing with my life until last year. These 7 years have gone by in a flash and I still feel like we broke up last week, even though I have never seen or contacted her again. From time to time I start to wonder if she too thinks about me and wonders what I'm doing with my life.

Im 32 and loving it. 20s was slightly chaotic. Im now married, got more money saved up and more disposable income to spend on hobbies etc. Friends have come and gone but mostly have stuck around. Perhaps most importantly i just feel so relaxed. I do agree with the guy who's pissed that covid took away our time and freedom but fuck it its in the past..for now, anyway. I recently started doing some martial arts on top of lifting and stuff and rather then thinking 'i wish i started earlier' i think 'im glad i didnt start later'. Basically im really excited for what the future holds. My advice for ppl in thier 20s is: you will never regret not skipping the gym. Identify your values and live them. Plans might not work out but planning is essential.

How's your family situation? Married? Kids? When did you get married?
At what age would you advise men to take the responsibility of a wife/kids/mortgage, if at all? I'm in my early 30s and feel like I'm not equipped enough to truly support a family but on the other hand I'm running out of time

        >How's your family situation? Married? Kids? When did you get married?
family is great. i got married at 25, had 3 children. they're all grown up now and doing their things.
        >At what age would you advise men to take the responsibility of a wife/kids/mortgage, if at all?
i don't think there's a particular age for starting a family, etc. i think there's always going to be uncertainty, so if you wait until you've got all your ducks in a row, it might be too late (eg: you might not *ever* get all your ducks in a row). so, you just have to weigh the situation and decide if the risk is worth it. also, you never know exactly *when* you're gonna meet that girl that makes the thing click in your head that makes you want/need to have children with her...you might meet her before you're ready, and then you'll have a tough decision to make. or you might get all your ducks in a row and then never meet her. :/
        >I'm in my early 30s and feel like I'm not equipped enough to truly support a family but on the other hand I'm running out of time
in all honesty, i definitely did not feel equipped to start a family when i got married, but i had confidence in myself that i would figure it out...and, luckily, i did haha (knock on wood).

I'll be more positive: Say you are in your twenties and you are afraid of becoming "older" already, you have to ask yourself, what exactly is going to get worse in the near future? Are you really already peaking in all aspects of life? If not, then you have so much more to look forward to since almost everything can (and should) still improve. If you are only clinging onto youth you're missing the bigger picture.

I'm 35. So my my 30s have been great as far as career, relationships, life goals etc are concerned.

However, I do have an ever present existential crisis lingering in my mind.

If I live to be 90 I have less than 2,900 weeks of life left and they just continue to fly by. I envy people who are religious, because the thought of not existing terrifies me. Not enough to stop me living my life. I ride a motorbike and do other arguably dangerous things that put me at greater risk of death. But late at night, usually right before I close my eyes, I often think one day I just won't exist. That shit is haunting and becomes more haunting as the weeks slowly tick away.

worrying about getting older as a man is extremely embarrassing tbh

you can get everything you like about youth at any age if you're a man, as long as you have your shit together and don't let yourself go. the only difference is that when you were young it was sort of handed to you due to circumstances and the social dynamics of school/college, and now that you have to rely on your own resources to make it happen a lot of men realize how little they actually bring to the table as individuals so they start thinking that life is over at 25. sad!

So far I’ve used this year to break up with an ex, do some real self analysis/therapy, and now I am thinking about breaking up with the current gf - I probably got sucked into this new relationship too fast. She’s tall, pretty, very sweet, and is going to med school but I just don’t feel that deep “connection”. What do bros? Do I severe ties once more or play it safe and try to make this work?

Looking at all these responses, am I the oldest one here at 47?

    >how do you cope with getting older

Not sure, but I guess I did because there is no other option. I do that with a lot of things. I make my choice/decision/what not and that's it, or if there is no other choice to be made then that's it too. Like with getting older, aging doesn't stop, you can slow it, feel young maybe but there is nothing else to do about it.

I will say that if I didn't have my wife and family, I would probably be worse off. I love being a dad. My son is on track team, and I can't express how proud I feel when he does good. Or when we get compliments from teachers or others about him and how he behaves.

Well I have OCD and exposures are only so effective especially for different kinds. How many times can I do exposures to my own heartbeat? I get obsessed about acting weird or creepy around my own family members, how many times can I "expose" myself to them? I essentially have social phobia now so I guess I could try to go do things with and in front of people more, but the thoughts and feelings got to be their worst when I actually had a job and was forced to interact with people. I think it's different in nature than normal social anxiety

I don't have all the answers or whatever, but i do think exposing your self to it so that you become so numb to it, is what is going to make it go away. And if that never goes away, then you have to learn to live with it, and to live your life fully, and if that thing wants to hang around and exist like a bad passenger in the buss, you just got to keep trucking on and not let that passenger ruin the ride. Because the choice as bad as it might sound might be to either not have the ride of your life, or having the ride of your life with that bad passenger. And having that ride sure is better then not having it.
