Maybe try doing some weighted pullups so that way when you swap back another day the unweighted are easier after and you can do more?

try doing eccentric pullups - go up, hold the position at the top for 10-20 seconds and go down SLOWLY
repeat as many times as you can for a month or so

You can try a number of different strategies, the first thing I’d do is add variation:

    >different grip
    >L-sit wide pull up
    >go for one max effort day and one more ballistic during the week
    >try neutral grips
    >do some one arm pull ups with a band on the other hand for assistance and shoot for 3-5 reps for 3 sets
    >do heavy rows
    >do lighter rows
    >practice a ballistic exercise like the muscle up, just the first portion, don’t bother doing the dip portion (it’s fatiguing and doesn’t fit your goal)
    >experiment with archer pull ups, type writer pull ups, one arm negatives, one arm static holds at the top, etc

There’s a million things you can do to increase max pull ups, and I never even mentioned weighted pull ups (which are fine). Just add some more variation, and don’t make your entire training day revolve around one single pulling variation

Thanks. The real art is putting that into a logical program that isn’t overkill
