I can't squat the bar

I genuinely tried my best but couldn't do more than 2 reps and had to go put it back

You now have a baseline for improvement. Don't quit now, just aim to be better next time.

Then do dumbbell squats and work your way up?

it doesn't matter how many you did today. what matters is that you do at least 1 more next time

ahaha 2 is good anon! Especially in the beginning it's a really weird and scary feeling to squat. You'll get used to it and more stable, you'll do more before you know it.

You’re me but I’m 127 lbs. Also when I posted this, IST tested me an butthole and made fun of me

I started with shit knees and body weight squats. I squatted the 100 pound dumbell two days ago. Keep going, frien. Do 3 reps next time. Do 2 and then a set of bodyweight if you can't get three.

    Just do bodyweight.
If you can do sets of 30 then you should be fine to do the barbell.
Or go to the fixed barbell section and grab a 20lb one. Oly bars tend to be 45lbs.

op when I started I struggled with the bar too

    now my PB is 112kg

some can lift much heavier than this. some much less.

    it doesn't matter.

you're only in competition with yourself.

    next time you do 3.

I started with 40kg 3-4 months ago, now I am repping 100kg. High bar ATG. I intentionally started very low because I wanted a lot of technical practice. Not trying to talk shit here but I find it inconceivable that a male that has gone through puberty is having trouble SQUATTING the fricking bar. I can see someone who is super skelly having trouble OHP'ing a bar on the first day, but squatting?. How do you function in day to day life being this frail?
Just sit back up and down while keeping balance and staying tight and braced, it isn't hard lol.

probably a combo of poor setup + bad upper body mobility. personally I was overweight when I started which also made it harder.

This blessed thread has already covered the essentials, but I'll add something.

Watch some Tom Platz videos on youtube before leg day:

Might be a bit cringe, but I lift 25% more with tom hyping me up.

I can do 5pl8 on leg press and 60 lb db split squats and can’t squat more than 1pl8 at all. My back is fricked beyond belief.

That's nothing, I can't even get the bar into position because of poor shoulder mobility.

face on the floor arm perpendicular to body forearm 90 deg - somwhere there it ain't precise, u'll know where it should be when u feel it - now roll your body onto the extended and bent arm pushing away with other arm, u won't go far, stay there for a while, switch arms

u may thank me for curing ur tight pecs from your moronic habit of benching, in few months u might be able to scratch your back where it itches xD
