I didn't find it on the FAQ so I'm going to ask here: Is there any concern about unintentionally getting bigger than you wanted from building muscle? Like I get that you have to eat a ton to build muscle mass, and I understand bulking as a concept, but what if I'm fine with the size my body is and the way it looks, but just want to have more muscle in the same volume?

Like I don't even know if it's physically possible to frick that up. I know muscle weights more than fat, so while I'm aware I'd end up heavier than I am now, how do I manage to do that without needing to go up in clothing sizes?

If you gain muscle and weight then the muscle will get bigger. You can't pack more muscle into a given space expecting it not to get bigger. That's a losing battle because you're asking for the impossible. If you like how you look then maintain it and chase a different goal. Maybe something athletic like getting a better mile time or being stronger at your bodyweight would be a better goal for you

I understand that muscle will have volume, but if I'm losing the same amount as fat mass, wouldn't I stay the same size?

If muscular volume is less than fat (but higher density/weight) then you would need to gain more muscle to find an equilibrium in volume and stay the same size as you were if you were particularly fat.

I'm not particularly fat, but that's precisely what I'm trying to achieve. Remaining the same size and fitting into the same clothes, but with a body consistency that's less fat and more muscle, but in the same size.

How do I get more density and weight without getting bigger as well?

            >without getting bigger as well
Isolations. If you don't want larger shoulders, don't train shoulders so hard.
Any way you cut it, you will be going for fat loss to minimise that one.

What parts are you trying to maintain?

I have no idea, actually. I'd just prefer my tailoring measures to remain the same, while being more fit and having more energy.

Considering you need a tailored approach to your tailored clothes problem..

                So you are 60kg?
                Height?
                Dimensions?

                Very lithe.
Reckon you ought to check with your tailor about how they brought in those seams.
Have you done a bf% estimate?

I know exactly what I'm trying to ask but I genuinely don't know how to explain it more clearly. Like if we assumed that muscle weights twice as much as fat (I know it's not an exact rate but it's close enough), and I lost 3 kg of fat and gained 6 kg in muscle to make up for it, I'd be 3 kg heavier but at the exact same size.

    How would I achieve this?

i've had to go a size up because my chest, back and upper arms are bigger
my stomach size has decreased though
      i've gone from 107kg to 95kg

I'm 60 kg and have had to get most of my clothes tailored to fit my size because I am an absolute manlet. I'd like to figure out how to get more fit and be in better shape without having to get my entire wardrobe altered all over again.

my actual moron friend, nobody on this planet has ever accidentally got too big. Have you seen how desperately hard people try to get bigger to absolutely no avail? You couldn't accidentally get too big if you blasted gear. It is a tremendous task to get "too big" and is always, always intentional. Unless of course you mean skinny 4ft zoomoid roider with the traps of a 45 year old farmer

I know what you mean, sort of. I was a fat ass two years ago, over 300+ lbs. But at 6'5 I thought "I carry it well". Yea, no i didn't. I started counting calories, swimming, working out, lifting. Now I do 2 hard workouts a week, plus swimming 2 miles at least a session. I'm down to 186 lbs and my wife says I look way to skinny now. I'm still setting PRs in my workouts and can do body weight dips 5x10, pushups 4x25, bench is 190 lbs 5x5 right now. That was a great feeling when I could bench more than my weight.

I too want to get "bigger" like more muscle-y but to do that I need to eat more, but I just don't want to eat that much anymore. It's like when I try to eat more chicken i get so full I just don't want to eat. It's weird, there were times I would put away I don't know how huge a meal, now my portions are so much smaller and I have to force myself to eat more and on top of that I don't want to gain weight, if anything I want to get to 180 lbs, that was my weight in HS at my current height.

I specifically do not want to get bigger. I would accept the opposite, but I do not want to get bigger.

Have you done a bf% estimate?

The machine at the gym said 10,5% but those aren't ever right, are they?

      32 cm or so?

I don't believe I'm fat, just out of shape.

Those dimensions put you at 5% bodyfat. Quit bullshitting.

Where are you getting your numbers from? The body consistency thing scale in the gym said 10,5% and I am definitely not an athlete.

Jackson & Pollard Ideal weight @ 10.5% for someone of that height and dimensions. So no, not the one you have. At the Navy method for measurement, someone with those dimensions is about 5.5%

You are either a skeletor or a bullshitter.

Well if I'm skeletor then I'm fine with the dimensions I have, I just want to have more muscle and less fat weight on it.
