      Your brain associates salt with food because processed food is full of sodium. So whenever your body is dehydrated and needing sodium, you start craving processed food because your brain has tagged that type of food as a source of source of sodium. Instead of grabbing a hot dog, just add a bit of salt to your water and the cravings will be gone.

    very good. it's a game changer for sure. How about sugar cravings? I find sugar hard to overcome during my eating window. I can fast 20 hours on average throughout the week. Yet it's hard to stay away when I can eat again. I usually want sugary drinks like lemonade or kool-aid, not foods

      I don't know. I don't have sugar cravings. Maybe adding sugar along salt to the water would help. For many decades the WHO has recommended adding sugar and salt to the water to prevent death from dehydration.

      You didn't understand what I said. I said you're craving salt, not water. Your body has built an association between processed food (like a sausage or a hamburger) with salt. So whenever you need salt, you start craving processed foods. You can break this association by adding a bit of salt to your water. This way you'll start craving water instead of processed food. Most processed foods today have added salt, which is why we're addicted to eating.

      Drinking water without salt wouldn't help. It would only make the problem worse since your body's salt to water ratio would drop, causing you to crave salt (sausages) even more.
