If you plan it correctly, you should be able to eat a lot. With 1500 calories you can eat 6 tilapia fillets, 6 eggs, and a lot of veggies.

1500 kcal for a non-sedentery fattie could easily be 1000kcal below maintenance. That’sa recipe for crashing, relapsing and overeating. Up calories to 1850 please.

Actually before i tell you to eat more let me ask a couple other questions

      1. How long have you been cutting for?
      2. Any resistance training or just cardio?
      3. Are you tracking scale weight daily? What’s the movement on the scale?
      4. Height, weight and age?

Doin a panic button and decreasing your calories WAY lower than what your intake should be will only put your body in a desperate state where you’ll start cumsooming ur muscles. Happened to me when I dropped 20lbs even while lifting, started looking hella disgusting. Just spent the last year getting my weight up again so that I can drop down slowly and make sure my muscles don’t get affected

        >1. How long have you been cutting for?
Not long around a month or so. Ive only lost around 5kg so far. I started out at a higher caloric intake but then i wasn't seeing results so i lowered it.
        >2. Any resistance training or just cardio?
Ive been gyming for around 4 years. I try to go to the fym as well as do my cardio but it's hard to do both. For me. I still manage to go to the gym maybe 2 times a week. While doing at least 5km walking a day and most days alsp a 3km run. I get bouts of intense hunger every so often. I usually eat a chicken breats to satisfy the craving. I was very surprised by how little calories you actually lose by cardio.
        >3. Are you tracking scale weight daily? What’s the movement on the scale?
Only once or twice a week. Lost around 5kg which is really really slow imo. Id like for it to be much faster
        >4. Height, weight and age?
        180cm, 97kg, 24
        5ft11, 85lb, 24

Ok. So your maintenance cals are approx 2700 with light exercise. You’re doing at minimum a 1000kcal deficit, possibly more.

1kg a month is good sustainable progress, it’s a rate of weight loss that means you are more likely to be losing fat than fat free mass, and and it’s a rate that you’re less likely to see stretch marks at. At your height weight age and training experience, you have a metabolic profile that is more suited to sustainable weight loss. Give yourself 6 months to meet your goal and eat a little bit more. Or else your enemy isn’t going to be physiological factors, it will be psychological factors, like giving up, and regaining all your weight and fat (plus a little extra).

Up calories by 300-400 for two weeks and see how you feel, and if you continue to lose weight at your current rate in that time.

One other reccomendation, weigh yourself daily under the same conditions - just after waking up and pissing. You’ll get a clearer picture of your progress this way

I appreciate the advice anon. But im pretty impatient and i only gained the weight during lockdown. I can tell that my body isn't use to the fat it has on it. And 1kg per month? That's extremely slow according to what ive heard/read. Ive heard that 1kg(1% of your mass) per week is a fair rate even for muscle retention and that it should be more if you're over the average bfp which i am at 27% bf.
I also find that i gain weight when i try to "control" my diet even after putting everything into myfitnesspal and counting calories. I think my metabolism is just extremely , extremely low. Maybe below 1500. Im not sure but it's definitely not what it says it should be from the caloric expediture calculators

And i think i have enough muscle on me so that i wont look like i don't lift. Im pretty confident id be able to gain the muscle back if any is lost relatively easily. Isn't that what bodybuilders do anyway after a bad bulk?

Typo - 1kg per week is what I meant to say.

I can assure you your maintenance cals are well above 1500 and eating a little bit more will help you stay on track. But if you think your current rate of weight loss is sustainable, do what you have to do. Little unsure why you made the thread in that case

1kg per week is only for mega fatties and most of that loss is water. 1lb per week is closer to the absolute max that is sustainable for a normal person especially if you are also working out.

LMAO, you're cutting way too hard. Your hormones will get all fricked up and one day you'll get so hungry that you binge eat 5000+ calories in one go.
