    What's your typical 1000kcals?

      Anonymous

Well I drink coffee at 6am. Probably about 200 calories after sugar and cream

Then at 10am I have 1 cup rice and chicken and a 200cal protein bar so I'm guessing maybe 400 calories at the most.
At 1pm I have a half cup of rice and chicken and 80 calories yogurt so 180

And at 4pm I'll have a very tiny snack. Typically just a couple folds of lunch meat 100 calories at most

So 200+400+180+100 that's only 880. And I'm kind of high balling it. If my numbers are off that still can't be more than 1100

          >guessing
          Weigh your food

How far off could I be. It's rice and chicken mixed together so it's not 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of chicken. It's 1 cup of rice and chicken mixed and it's like 80% rice and 20% chicken

I bet it's much more than that. Liquid calories can especially hide a lot, don't underestimate it. Could as well be excess water as someone mentioned , so be patient with plateaus. Consider that if you cut too aggressively you WILL lose muscle.

Weigh and measure everything, you'll be surprised how terrible our internal estimation is. When I started, I just guestimated what I was doing and what I registered as a 1,500 calorie day was actually a 2,400 calorie day, just because I had a bad sense of scale on these things.

Ironically, diligently measuring will improve your estimation in the long run, as you'll become more accustom to what actually is a cup of X, 300 grams of Y, etc.

That rice and chicken is probably FAR more than a cup, the yogurt is likely the same, and luncheon meats are a lot more calorie dense than you'd think, and its easy to eat a few hundred grams and think nothing of it.

          Anonymous

The rice I literally take a cup and measure it till it says 1 cup. Yogurt the package says its 80 calories and I only eat what equates to 100 calories of meat. I'm pretty accurate with my numbers and there's no way I'm off by anything more than 200 calories. I'll look into my coffee because I do eyeball the cream and sugar. Still. There's no way I'm eating anything over 1500 even if I'm way off the ballpark

Why don't you measure it before you cook it and find out?

          Because my wife cooks it

I still lose weight. But I'm expecting to see consistent loss everyday with such low calorie intake when really it's like -.2, -.3, -0, +.1, then it will be -.8 and back to me regular -.2

It's rice and chicken. Literally how much can it be. 1 cup of rice and chicken cannot be more than 500 calories

Why the frick are you asking for advice but not taking the actual advice that will make you be SURE (because you are nowhere near sure) of how many calories you are eating in a day. Just keep eating how you are and don’t lose weight fricking homosexual

                Anonymous

I never said I wasn't going to take his advice. I was just making a comment that 1 cup of mixed rice and chicken cannot be more than 500 calories. It's less than a cup of rice and less than a cup of chicken pit together

A full cup of rice is 200 calories from Google
A full cup of chicken is 330 calories from google

So 1 full cup of rice/chicken mix is 200 to 330 calories so 500 is a very generous overshoot

Your body does a lot of wonky shit in how it stores water, glycogen, how much shit is in your system etc. Don't worry about it.
If you want the real rate of weight loss, you need to plot all the points over lets say 2-3 weeks, fit a linear function to it and look at the derivative/delta.

So with my original formula plus the real calories in my rice I'm looking at

        200+680+320+100=1300

Omg I'm fat... guess I have to drop that half cup of rice

        That will be 1060...

Eat even less. If you're burning more calories than you take in it is not possible to maintain weight. Either your 1000 calories is incorrect, you're not burning 1000 calories, or you're defying physics.

Here's a serious answer, OP. It's mostly your body's water retention and to a lesser extent digestion/waste cycles. The scale doesn't measure body fat or body fat percentage, only total weight. You are burning fat constantly but your body contains such a high amount of water that just the noise in your water content is enough to bounce around your weight. This happens with everybody, you should just take a weekly average and stop worrying about it.

      Anonymous

I guess that makes sense. Should i aim to drink the same amount of water everyday? Is there like a CICO for water intake?

My body fat looks good. I'm starting to get more definition, smaller love handles and more V taper

I like to weigh myself everyday. I dont think ill ever change that. I like to track my weight daily and adjust my day based on what the change is

        >Smaller love handles
        >Eating a full cup of rice daily
Ngmi, 1/2 cup of white rice is already 120 calories and you won't even say the exact amount of chicken you're eating when you're probably preparing it with oil/butter which adds EVEN MORE calories and you low-ball guess 80 calories combined? Use a calorie tracker dum-dum

          Anonymous

So I use the knorr creamy chicken. They said it's 270 calories a cup. Then I use cream of chicken to cook it. That's 120 calories over 7 days. Then I buy 1.5lb of chicken thigh split across 7 days so .2lbs of chicken a day.
Idk if my wife uses butter but let's say she does so +80/7 and some cheese 100/7

          So yes.
It's 270 for a full cup of rice (it's not a full cup though)
17 for the cream of chicken
170 for the 1.5lb/7 of chicken thigh
10 for some butter or oil added
          Another 15 for cheese
Total that's only 482 at most and I'm still over estimating for the sake of error

        Anonymous

No, drink when you're thirsty, simple as.

The signal here is your weekly average weight. Keep weighing yourself daily but understand that the daily number is noisy and not the signal.

          >starvation diet
I can handle it. I just really want a 6 pack. But I'm not autistic enough to plot all my weight points into a function and chart it. I just know I usually lose about 1.5lbs a week and about .2lbs a day. Sometimes it's -0 or +.1 and then I'll piss like a race horse one morning and then I'll be down .8. Was wondering why it fluctuates sometimes like that. Guess that's just how the body works

When losing weight it is normal to experience fluctuations on a day to day basis due to the changing amount of waste and water in your body. Don't be so worried if you weigh the same as yesterday or even gain weight since yesterday because it could very well be that you just drank some water/haven't taken a shit. Measure your progress on a weekly basis, and if you are genuinely eating at a 1000 calorie a day level. You should expect steady progress. I would recommend getting on the treadmill and going for a 20-30 minute run each day to give yourself a bit more leeway on your diet so you don't feel so hungry and start removing sugar and cream from your coffee as they are don't fill you up at all.

there is no way it's just 10 calories of oil or 15 calories for cheese those are fricking CALORIE DENSE like you are. a teaspoon of olive oil is 40 calories, butter is 34. unless you're using barely any cheese (or your wife whatever your story is) I doubt its 15 calories.
