I got a job offer to work in a fish processing plant in alaska from Mid June-September

I would live in a bunk room and work 5-7 days a week for 8-16 hours a day

idk if there is a town or anything nearby or even a kitchen so I assume no gym and I would be to tired anyways

How much will this destroy my gains?
Should I just starve myself and do prison workouts?

I could afford to lose some bodyfat ive been dirty bulking since December , im 5'9" and 170lbs right now around 18-20% bf I think

I got out of the Muweens last year and have been working as an EMT for 13/hour and am sick of being poor they offer 18/hour and 27/hour after 40 hours so I could bank some cash and figure shit out after I guess

Why the actual frick would you choose to live like a prisoner and get paid some garbage-ass barely-above-minimum wage? Use that GI bill, dude. Even if it's just for an associate's degree. Manual labor should be a "last resort" career path, it destroys your body, your job can likely be automated in the future, and you usually work with pretty weird people. You can go anywhere and do anything at your age assuming no debt. If you want to see Alaska, backpack in the summertime or something, but working a shit job in the winter? You might start playing with suicidal thoughts.

Alaska is a paradise for hunting and fishing.

      That's a good backup plan.

Tons of pro hunters and fishers out there.

It's like the last frontier, a lot of people working honest jobs.

Some of us are not soft and don't mind doing hard labor to get by.

Actual alaskan anon here, dont listen to these officer-worker homosexuals. Go do it, its physical work but it makes good money (idk your qualifications)

There’s a reason why Alaska has high alcoholism/drug use and sexual assault/murder cases. A lot of people work these “honest jobs” with the natives then succumb to bad habits and shitty living conditions. There are pockets of decent native communities but a lot of have taken over these jobs and communities which causes crime to skyrocket because they’re paid shit for long hours and shitty times. Alaska is not glitz and glory

    >Brother Eddie is only 2 years older than me.
    >Me and Eddie are best friends. Hang out at our pop's bar and listen to awesome stories about The Great War. Hunt and fish for whatever we want, whenever we want. LoL what is a 'season'? What are 'bag limits'? Just get a bigger bag and hunt some more.
    >Pop dies, mom can't earn enough to support the family.
    >At 18 Eddie heads to Alaska to work in a fish cannery. I don't finish high school, start working odd jobs to help the family.
    >6 months later I get a letter from Eddie. I'm so happy I can barely read it through my tears.
    >"Hey, buddy. I miss you and the family a lot. Give my love to Mom. You gotta come up here, Alaska is amazing. The work is hard and the days are long, but the pay is great (he included a fat stack of cash for Mom), we go to town every weekend and see a movie, there's always a dance with lots of local girls. We get fed and a bed so the only thing to spend money on is having fun. You should come up here, you'll love it.
    >I stay around Portland and help Mom.
    >Another 6 months later, another letter from Eddie. Same as the first. Cash for Mom, lots of fun, good pay. "There's too many girls for all us working men. We can't get any rest on our days off. You'll love it up here."
    >Tell Mom I'm going North to work with Eddie. She's sad, but happy that some of her boys will be back together and that more money will be coming to the family.
    >Get to Alaska.
    >Frick Eddie.
    >Alaska is cold as shit. Alaska is dark as shit. The work is insane, and insanely dangerous. There are no women, there are no dances.

I love living in Australia. The wages are high and you don't need to be smart or have a degree to get good paying jobs here. When I read about Americans making half the money (currency adjusted) for twice the work in America it makes me baffled how "first world" countries like that actually exist.

Bro this is a terrible idea. Slave wages for harder work. My brother and I joined the Navy. He signed for 4, I signed for 6. He just got out last year. He was an EN, engineman. He got a bunch of technical certifications while he was still in to work on big ship diesel engines. Now he's a civilian making $35 an hour plus healthcare. GO USE YOUR GI BILL and get a technical degree. My brother in law was also Navy, now he's a welder making $30. My cousin owns an HVAC company and makes 6 figures. You can still have a manual labor job where you don't completely destroy yourself and make a good wage on an honest day's work.

I don't understand why you're catching all this flak You'd be coming away after 3 months with a decent chunk of change and some unique life experience. I feel like you've got the right idea with going on a cut. Working long hours can be a good distraction when you're eating less

agreed tbh, half the anons itt are acting like he's gonna do this for the rest of his life
(side note, I was in the white-collar world for a while, hated it, went to woods work and haven't looked back. I do have decent benefits and off-ramps to less-physical jobs in the industry, but frick office work in a big city.).
Anyway, OP, it's 3 months, I wouldn't get too invested in any particular training plan. Have fun, use the tools you have (including e.g. trails if you're in SE AK), always leave something in the tank.

Just got back from a three month job clearing waterways and tributaries of logjams. We moved around rural areas constantly enough that getting a new gym membership wasn’t really feasible. 10-12 hour days often with long commutes, only enough time outside of work to shit, eat, shower and sleep. The only physical labor being wading around in a swamp with a chainsaw, manning winch lines, and moving waterlogged wood by hand half the time.

Maybe you’ll fare better than I did but I definitely lost some progress. I’m on my first week back in the gym and I feel like I’ve melted. My advice would be to at least try to keep your diet in check and squeeze in what maintenance you can with what you have.

Alaska's great. I'd look at this as an opportunity to get the lay of the land, so to speak, and bank cash to maybe buy property in state or at least find more permanent employment.

Alaska will test you, but you will know you're alive every day.
