The trick is having a gym partner you enjoy being around, which makes cardio enjoyable since you can pass time talking.
Do you hate cardio itself or do you hate running? If the latter then you can do circuits with weights using moderate weight, doing high reps as fast as you can and no rest inbetween exercises until you complete the circuit.
Long steady state cardio is boring but is not the only way to do cardio.

Jump rope is fun and require 15-20 minutes at most. Do that 3-4 times a week and you're good to go.
I sometimes thinking about doing jump ropes. But there are already some calluses formed on my feet from running. I wonder if it won't make it worse.
Second this. Put on rhythmically appropriate music like DnB and your mind easily gets lost in the zone because you're essentially dancing. Just be patient while you git gud and push through because you definitely do look like a moron trying to nail the footwork the first few times.

the trick to cardio is just do jump in and do enough hard cardio for like 3 months until your baseline cardio is good enough that you can do zone 2 cardio for an hour at a time at a decent pace. problem most people have with cardio is that the stimulus to fatigue ratio is insanely high when you are out of shape which makes your zone 2 cardio ridiculously slow and boring.
If you can get to the point where your zone 2 cardio is reasonable then you are in the clear and cardio becomes GOD
