I hate suffering from tinnitus, feeing hopeless

anbody know how to deal with this? I developed it a few months ago and it's gotten worse. Now it's 24/7.

I also have stomach issues but not sure if it's related.

Could all this be mental?

I had tinnitus as well as vertigo (floor dropping, boat swaying, jumpy vision)
I found out it was my overcrowded teeth + impacted wisdom teeth causing TMJ

interesting. so did pulling the teeth help? I always thought pulling teeth would shrink the palate

anon, get back to me on this. I'm curious about the effect of overcrowding+impacted teeth

Tinnitus here too. From what I've read prevailing theories is that it's mostly mental. You can get CBT to help deal with it (no idea how effective that is, never done it). What I'll say is the more you focus on it the louder it seems, whether the cause is mental or physical the mental element definitely plays a big role in how much you notice it, I barely notice mine unless I sit in a silent room and focus on it

ya it could be mental but I'm having so many other symptoms, I feel it's all connected to one thing. Probably my gut

Sleep headphones have been a life saver for those nights when the "Eeeeeeeeeeee..." just won't stop. Also, take some Sudafed. Sometimes, it's made worse by congestion in your head.

Come on fit share some of your esoteric knowledge. My girlfriend has this, drove her crazy at first but she’s mostly gotten over it. Almost certain it’s from loud music. Any solutions? Seems like it’s pretty much unfixable from everything I’ve read

but lots of people with hearing loss don't have tinnitus

Yeah, but it’s one of the main causes. When you’re around music that’s way too loud your ears ring for a while afterwards. It makes sense that it could cause tinnitus

for me, it seems to ring no matter what. Even when I wake up, it's kinda ringing

For anyone under the age of 40 who has tinnitus, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO TO A DOCTOR AND HAVE YOUR EARS PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED
I guarantee in 9/10 of cases your tinnitus is a result of compacted earwax
I had tinnitus for a couple years and it was driving me insane, it felt like I was half deaf and becoming more so with each week, then I finally decided to go to a doctor and they spent 10 minutes flushing a tonne of ear wax out of my ears, it was so bad that the earwax had fused to the skin in some areas and caused minor bleeding once it was removed
Like there was literally a cup full of filthy black half solid liquid from the flushing
Immediately my hearing went from 10% volume to 100%, the point where it was so loud I wanted to wear ear plugs
And my tinnitus was completely gone

    Tldr,
    >if you are over the age of 20 and have never had ears professionally cleaned before, go to a doctor and get it done

I've had mine since 4th of July 2010...was drinking margaritas and got the bright idea to shoot ak47 with no earplugs off the lake...ears haven't stopped ringing since. Alcohol seems to make it worse so I no longer booze it up.

im 18 and i have horrible hearing, i constantly have to ask people to repeat themselves. i assumed its just because i always have my earbuds/headset too loud
does that method only help with tinnitus(which i dont have) or could my shit hearing possibly get fixed by that?
also how much does it cost

I wear ear plugs to sleep and it got to the point where I was basically hearing impaired. I used debrox daily for a long time and it finally went away

You learn to live with it. I hardly notice I've got it these days. Had it for at least 15 years

I've had it come and go in my life. Usually using ear wax drops helps, but this time it is especially bad, and my drum feels muffled. Doctors say possibly an inflamed ear drum. Supposed to take sudafed for a week. Don't take it if you have heart problems, apparently. WAGMI. Listen to white noise if you can. I listen to the Diablo 2 OST while I work

I forgot to mention that a couple nurses have helped me when it is especially compacted. Some are not helpful and have sent me out with a lot of wax still in my ears, but the other ones left me feeling brand new. The good ones have a 90% chance of showing you all the wax that's come out of your ears and saying "it's a boy/girl!"
