I have bad hearts that run in my family, and going on a vegetarian diet is good for that. So i have been, but i recently discovered fake meat made of onions and I really like it. I've eaten onions twice this week and I could see it becoming a staple in my diet. I am aware of the memes, I don't have gyno. In fact I am going bald. With all that said, would onions becoming a part of diet mess me up in the long run? I should mention tofu has a very high protein content compared to other beans.

    Anything fake (such as that “meat” you talk about) will frick you over in the long run.

      I went vegetarian for few weeks before christmas, and definitely plan on doing it full time after new year. Benefits were so good, the only thing that I'm concerned is how I'm going to look after few months and general performance at the gym.

      That depends on how hard you go and what you eat. You can't outrun a bad diet, though you can keep ill health at bay the way sumo fighters do, though it's tough as frick to do so.

    Then don't eat the onions anon. What's the big deal? Those fake meat products and substitutes are only on the market for stupid women and fat morons. There's zero reason to eat a fake meat burger when you can eat a delicious rice and black bean patty that you made yourself. Your goal shouldn't be to make fake things that look like meat products. I mean do you try to make sure your meat looks like roadkill before you eat it too?

    I think this is really a discussion you should be having with your doctor, since they'll have a better understanding of your medical history than we do.

    That said, no s-o-y shouldn't mess you up in the long term. Tofu is very healthy, and roast edamame is an excellent snack food.
