I have something to say

Never trust a dermatologist. I’ve went to one for hyperhydrosis and finasteride and have been told by the doctor both times that these things would be covered by insurance. Despite their lies they are not. If you have an issue fix it at home or use an online doctor for exactly what you need. Fin out of pocket from a doctors office? $125 for 3 months. Fin online from Keeps? $75. The insurance not covering hyperhydrosis like he said they would eventually cost me thousands because lol Botox. Never trust a word. Never let them do a procedure before you know how much it costs and before you’ve spoken to your insurance rep. They are perfectly willing to try and ruin your life. Thanks for reading.

I just learned about rx coupons. Is that what you do? I’m not interested in an underground lab with fake chemicals.

Can you please explain to a moron why I have to find an online coupon to make medicine somewhat affordable? Or why these coupons exist and where they come from?

Or maybe why a doctor or pharmacist wouldn’t tell you this info before you pay 1000% of the cost of a medication? I hate this world so much. I hope nuclear war is tomorrow.

Because pharmaceutical companies up charge the shit out of pills and other medicines. It's why IV bags cost around $2 to make, but hospitals bill you $300 for them.

I'm up to my third urologist next month becuse they are particularly stupid c**ts, even for doctors (unable to communicate with insurance, not testing for estradiol even though they prescribed me an AI, etc). I'm actually going to try a woman nurse practioner in the hopes she just does what I tell her.

I’m telling you that you can’t leave communicating to your insurance to your doctor. You have to do it. Ask for all the paperwork. Your doctor does not give a frick about dealing with your insurance. As people around here like to say “not my problem.” good luck trying to dispute anything an insurance company says though. You have no power there even with a hand written appeal.

I work in dermatology as an MA.

All I gotta say is you're mostly moronic in this case. Do you really think, using common sense, that insurance would cover hairloss? It's a cosmetic issue, they don't give a frick if you're ugly. They just care that you're getting medication for actual issues. If you weren't incompetent, you'd google "how to get cheaper medication" and actually find out GoodRx can get you fin for like 9$. Keeps you pay for convenience, it's dogshit, use a regular pharmacy with GoodRx.

I'm personally suffering from hairloss but I started early before any big issues so I can vouch for finasteride/dutasteride working, but it won't regrow hair. Minoxidil can work for that a little bit.

Botox for hyperhydrosis works for about half a year at most. There's also glyccopyrolate, a pill which dries you up and helps prevent sweating, as well as a medicated wipe that you can use before going out, however these you'd have to use daily. Hyperhydrosis is another one of those issues that isn't quite "life threatening" you just sweating a lot, so insurance once again doesn't care. There is however a radiation type of treatment that will close off your sweat glands under the armpit or some shit that you can try which last for many years, maybe forever. But if you're sweating in regions other than the armpits you're shit out of luck for that solution.

Only thing I agree with here is that you should ask insurance before doing anything in office that you're not sure is covered. However, doctors can't fricking know the dozens of insurances and what they cover off the top of their head. That's your job, it's YOUR insurance. General rule is that medicaid/medicare don't cover much.

TL;DR OP is a moronic homosexual that does not have common sense and cannot use google.

First of all they told me preemptively without my asking that insurance covers it. I went in there fully expecting to pay out of pocket. The first one I got was cheap and I assumed insurance covered it. Now I know she probably applied a coupon. None of this was communicated to me.

Second same situation with Botox. They assured me it was covered and then I did the procedure. Had to pay $3700 out of pocket even after 3 treatments even though I think they had to end up paying for one. I electrocute myself nightly instead which works.

Thirdly why the frick would I know about a fricking coupon for medicine? Are you fricking kidding me? No one has ever mentioned that shit like it’s a secret.

Also I have BCBS which they told me also would definitely cover it. They can’t just mislead people like that. Could I sue?

You can't really sue, it would be dismissed. It is your responsibility to know what covers what via talking with insurance. BCBS usually covers a lot, so they may have been under the impression that stuff was covered.
