I just started BJJ 2 days ago. Give me some tips that will put me ahead of the game bros. I will eventually transition to MMA so I try to always be on top and not frick around with the gay guard shit.

Hello, GAY department? Do you like fricking dudes or something?
Damn this board has gone to shit
Saying being on the bottom in BJJ is "gay guard shit" deserves ridicule
I didn't know any better as a beginner. I concede my previous statement. Anyway, got any tips?
Yeah it's confusing in the beginning. I still remember trying to mount people whose guard I was supposed to be in during drilling. This was my contribution though.
You'll be bad at doing shots for a while but you should show up early to class and drill them
brown belt here. you sound like an entitled and absolute butthole judging only by the way you perceive bjj and talk. still, anyone practicing bjj deserves help.
learn and practice the fundamentals: triangle, arm bar/lock, chokes, etc until you find one that lets you win rolls. it should feel natural once you get a good knowledge on how to set it up. this will be your workhorse for now on.
DO NOT focus on fancy shit. many people get discouraged bc they can't pull berimbolo or de la riva guard. this shit comes later, until atleast reached late blue and have a clue of what the frick are you doing.
try to roll with purples/browns and get humbled. hopefully you'll grow out of this butthole mindset you got now.
if you don't train guard, expect to not progress shit.
have fun and don't injure your partners.
Thanks homie. Yeah I've conceded my previous statement already regarding guards, just beginner arrogance on my part.
yeah, noticed that. it's good you are aware and willing to change.
if you keep like this, especially if you acknowledge your partners when they give you post roll advise, no doubt you'll go far anon. i believe in you.
gay but sweet <3
guard is necessary, guard pulling is gay. Never forget

brazil strikes again
Practice your side guard a lot and force your opponents into it often. It's one of the few positions where there's virtually no difference between being on top or bottom so if you're good at it then you'll always have an advantage.
Also don't fall for the "technique always beats strength" meme. Technique gives you the upperhand against strength but if you have both then you'll almost always frick up the guys who are nothing but technique.
>does BJJ
>actively tries not to work on his guard
If you're going to adopt that mindset then just quit and give up. You're insecure and disregarding a huge part of the game to appease some losers on a Tuvan Throat Singing board.
I just don't want to reinforce getting into a position for ground and pound.
That's mount.
b-b-but I gonna be da best! I don't need guard!
Unironically jumping rope and lunges. Tons of carryover to other grappling styles like wrestling and judo which a good BJJ gym is going to teach you.

Leg locks
Wrist locks
There you go.
Why is everyone who gets into this such a loser, im convinced its something effeminate men get into to try and hide how unmasculine they are.
If you want to do MMA then do MMA. Also if you hate being on bottom just pick up catch wrestling instead.
Incredibly gay of you anon, go boxibg
Brazilian JuJitsu legit looks like gay rape. It was created by a jap named Mitsuyo Maeda, who learned early-phase Judo from its founder (Jigoro Kano). However, Maeda was expelled from Japan for 2,400 acts of forced public homosexuality. So, he took his manraping skills to the jungles of Brazil, hoping to rape many exotic species in the rainforest. One day, while chasing monkeys, he found the Gracie brothers. I dont have to tell you what happened next. Rather than run away, the gracies decided to become his students, becoming proficient in the arts of homosexual rape. When their training was complete, Maeda excreted a 4-foot long turd on each of their tests, telling them it was their "brown belt." All the elder gracies still have those giant Rio steamers, in glass cases on their walls, as heirlooms to be passed on to their descendants. Truly, brazilian ju jitsu has a glorious history.
ok
Wow it's like an autistic ED user from 2007 time traveled to the present
I'm dyin!
Study tapes, and talk to some classmates about practicing moves outside of the dojo. Practice is always key.
Reminder that some autist from this very board had 0 fighting experience but became a blue belt in two months because he took notes and studied them after every lesson
>spazzy white belt
calm the frick down
How old are you?
