If you cannot find confidence from within yourself and cultivate it, then you will forever continue to shatter and break everytime someone criticizes you. The physical is just one part of the whole, focus upon the spiritual as well.

If you took the MRNA vax, then disregard my advice and just have a nice day. Your soul would already be destroyed.

Faustina the Younger (130–175) was a daughter of Emperor Antoninus Pius (ruled 138–161). She was also a cousin and wife of Pius’s successor, Emperor Marcus Aurelius (ruled 161–180).

The Roman gossipers claimed Faustina cheated on her husband all the time. Supposedly, she had affairs with senators, soldiers, sailors, and gladiators.

In Roman times, the gladiators were sex symbols. The Romans believed the sweat and blood of the gladiators were an aphrodisiac. The rich and influential Roman women hired the gladiators as their ‘bodyguards’. Of course, they desired for their bodies to be ‘closely guarded’ by these slave-warriors.

Faustina was so infatuated with the particular gladiator that she actually fell ill. She admitted the affair to her loving husband, Marcus Aurelius. Aurelius consulted soothsayers, who proposed the most unusual solution.

Aurelius summoned Faustina and the gladiator in his room and asked them to have sex. While they were having sex, Aurelius’s soldiers executed the poor guy. Faustina had to bathe in the gladiator’s blood. After the gladiator was dead, Aurelius and Faustina had sex.

Something I learned is that fitness is “step 1” to self improvement. No one was really that proud of me or nice to me for getting IST, and fitness has diminishing returns.

My ideology now is that you basically want to achieve well roundedness and attack from every angle. The 6-pack tren steroid guy gets mogged by the natty 225 bencher with a decent job and a good social network.

Keep exercising, keep improving, but limit it to two hours a day max. Use the rest of the time to learn a job skill and move out.

This is definitely true. When I was 100kg (-20kg) my mom began telling me I was getting too skinny.
Now at 80kg after strength training for ~8 months she tells me I'm getting too big and to stop training.
I really should stop sharing my perceived accomplishments to my family and friends, just keep it on here.

It's hard to live with someone who doesn't respect you. It sounds like your mother could be going under stress, or has something against you, but try not to take it personally. She doesn't know how to do better, unfortunately.

Sometimes people don't change and we have to space ourselves from them. Lots of people would be happy to congratulate you on your accomplishment. Learn why she is like that and you can grow from her mistake. I'm proud of you, anon.

Not OP but I needed to hear this. Living with parents that are dysfunctional and unable to cope with their own stress. It's really tough to not let their bullshit get to me.

      >Sometimes people don't change and we have to space ourselves from them
i stopped talking to my parents because they were never supportive of my goals and i lost many of my years working a shitty job and getting meme degrees just to please them
after stopping talking to them i'm free and i'm doing the dream job i always wanted (plus freelancing) and i live my life how i want
it sucks but if your parents are not supportive you should drop them ASAP

After the affair with the gladiator, Faustina continued cheating on her husband.

Aurelius’s advisors told him all the details of her raunchy affairs. They hoped Aurelius would kill her or at least request the divorce. But Aurelius stoically responded:

“If I send away my wife, I must also repudiate her dowry.”

Since Faustina was the daughter of Aurelius’s predecessor Emperor Antoninus Pius, her dowry was the Roman Empire. So Aurelius did nothing about his wife’s transgressions. He even elevated Faustina’s lovers to powerful positions within his government.

Good job breaking the cycle but now that you're stepping into the realm of proper gains you've got to realize that years of consistent training is baseline for fit people
Which means that you need to enjoy doing it to stop this "on and off" thing that I also did for 3 years
I recommend trying out different sports to find one you love, keep in mind that the better/fitter you are for a sport the more enjoyable it is so do not stop after a week/month

Here are your long term goals, if you do not achieve one of them within 3 years and all of them within 6 you die so you better get to work :
    >40min 10km
    >1 arm pullup
    >1/2/3/4 for 5 reps @70kg bw (have those lifts scale proportionally to your bw)
    >full splits, pancake, a fat bridge etc... basically the full flexibility package
    >be one of the most proficient dude in your sport in your local club

      Anonymous

Motivating goals. I'll try to reach them.

I have lifted consistently for 8 months and doubled most of my starting weights in almost all exercises so I think I'll be able to continue with lifting indefinitely.

I also like running so I'll probably hit 40min 10km if I focus on it for enough time.

I really hate flexibility so idk about that tbh, same with 1 arm pullup, losing weight is hard as shit and I've platued at 80kg for a decent while (my lifts grow but not my weight so its fine atm)

        Anonymous

        >I'll try to reach them
I mean you better reach them buddy because otherwise you'll die

For pulling exercises the key imo is adaptative loading within a set (peg board or one arm only being used as assistance with a towel while the other pulls most of the load feels much better to reach failure on than weighted pullups)

Flexibility can be harder than a lifting session with Tom Platz or it can be so easy that you do something else at the same time depending on the exercices you choose so I'm sure you'll find a routine that suits you
Exploring a broad range of motion and strengthening yourself in those positions allows you to reinforce tissues in ways that lifting does not do which are imo crucial to stay injury free, a lesson I wish someone taught me early on
Don't rush into it and learn which pains are good or bad tho, you may have undiagnosed anatomy issues such as FAI

Honestly great fricking job man! I know its hard. But thats why we keep pushing. Its worth it because it is hard. Its 11pm here and I just finished my back day and I really didnt feel like doing a cardio but now Im on the bike doing one. It is the moments where we dont relent where we make progress. I know it sucks to not get the support you think you need. When I pulled 4pl8 I told my parents and they literally said "...is that a lot?". Dont be mad at your mum. She will come around to mire you and think more highly of you because you changed yourself. Keep at it. Im proud of you. I never had it as hard as you did starting at 120 and man, Im mirin.

You did great anon. Good job brother. My parents are the same way and it's honestly hard to want to accomplish something when the people you're closest to don't seem to care about your accomplishments. What matters the most even if you don't get the praise right now is that you're on the path to big accomplishments in the future. You're going to look back on where you are now compared to what you became and feel a sense of pride that can't be matched by praise from anyone
