>If you don't do powerlifting, it's the better deadlift variant in every way
The point of a deadlift is that it's a hinge movement. If you take that away you might as well just do squat variations.
True, but sumo isn't a deadlift either. Whole point of a deadlift is that it's a hip hinge into a standing position, if you're doing the autism splits after lockout it isn't a deadlift.
Trap bars are still suboptimal for a hinge movement though because getting your shoulders in line with the centreline of the bar requires more knee flexion.
hinge/squat is a continuum and the trap bar lets you pick where you want to be on it. this is particularly useful if you're basically doing one big lower body lift, for example if you're working on running and don't want to allocate enough recovery budget to both squat and deadlift.
I mean you can, but it's a more awkward movement than just bending over and picking a barbell up like a non-retarded person

Lanklet here
Squats are painful and don't work with my anatomy, I was thinking of just doing a bullshit amount of hexbar deadlifts instead since it works the same muscles and I can get grip gainz.
Besides hernia maxxing, does it sound like a bad idea? Trying to do hack squats but I'm noticing hip and adductor instability
high bar DLs are the perfect DL variation for bros. Easy on the back, more weight to overload the trips and forearm. What more would an upper body bro want?

Good for you. If you don't do powerlifting, it's the better deadlift variant in every way

Fucking retard, you can use a trap bar for hinge, but if you're to stupid to do it, well, fuck yourself!!

Trap bar DL is far closer to conventional than sumo.

also, trap bar carries are pretty based.
So just ass down for squat variation and ass up for hinge?
yeah you got it
also here's a nice piece from Greg Nuckols https://www.strongerbyscience.com/trap-bar-deadlifts/
>for example if you're working on running and don't want to allocate enough recovery budget to both squat and deadlift.
That is exactly what I'm looking for. Sold.
Powershitters, cry about it.
Trap bar is more of a deadlift than sumo.
more like brap bar
The lowest bar squat
that's a hex bar sweaty

Trap bars are dangerous because they swing
Also they're just squats
Not even squats, leg presses with an isometric shrug
Do real barbell lifts
your mother swings and she's alright
More like gay bar
If i see anyone using trap bar i automatically think theyre pussies, mentally weak, s0 y, covid vaxd, and other gay things
