I mentioned that I go to the gym at night to avoid everyone else and someone said that it doesn't matter because everyone is there for the same purpose.

I really don't see how that matters? What difference does it make what other people are doing that I'll want to have them around? They could be playing Jenga for all I cared.

This some people got to socialize and like having others around them. I'm with you bro its extra and gets annoying when too many people are at the gym. Maybe they thought you didn't like seeing people because they thought you were self-conscious about your body? That's a common trend is people not wanting to gym because they are DYEL or fat.

I went to Revesby Anytime Fitness in wetsern sydney during peak hour earlier this year and there was only 2 showers available and when I finally got into one I took my shoes off and walked through a pool of blood. God I hate peak hours.

You probably shouldn't be fully alone if you're going for PRs otherwise you might literally die.
Having a lifting partner can also be good to keep you on pace and stop you from fricking around too much between sets

    Besides that it doesn't matter

Thus far, I've been pretty good at avoiding death on my own. Regardless, I don't do exercises with the lifty bars that go over my throat. Seems kind of a dumb way to exercise anyway.

No dumber than doing heavy weight squats, which might paralyse you if you go too heavy outside of a squat rack

Bench presses and skullcrushers are really good exercises for your chest and triceps and if you have a spotter the risk is basically 0. You don't have to do them but they're definitely worth trying out at least

The absolute risk of fricking yourself up is extremely low unless you're doing something stupid. You probably do more dangerous shit daily like crossing the road

I used to get up at 5 to have an empty gym, then the entire 5am club thing became popular and people started showing up.

Now I go just after lunch because I have more power them, I just listen to music and ignore everyone.

I probably come off as super arrogant but I really don't care, just don't want to socialize or pickup women.

he saw through your self-delusion (which you needed to type out and post on IST in an effort to convince yourself it's true).
he knows the reason you go when no one else is there is that you're DYEL or fat and embarassed. he tried to ease your anxiety, by telling you that it's ok that you're fat and DYEL, everyone else is at the gym to better themselves too. that's what they're for.

They assumed you go at night to avoid meeting other people. They were trying to encourage you because they thought you were shy/maybe have anxiety which is a problem a lot of people have that prevents them from hitting the gym. Don't hate.

I don't think they need to assume that I go to the gym at night to avoid everyone else, because I told them outright that I go to the gym at night to avoid everyone else.

It was my opening statement. I'm starting to understand though, so this has been helpful. Gym people just aren't very intelligent so what I say has little relevance.
