I need dire help

I need dire help quitting kratom. I started taking it 3 years ago and to me its a miracle drug.
Its the only thing that makes me feel tangibly good.
And everytime I quit, Im just a hollow zombie with an insatiable craving for it since its the only thing that I can really feel. Its like having an itch or being completely empty and kratom is the only thing that fills the void in my soul.
Its bad.
But I think I need to stop. I just cant fricking fathom how.

I’ve been super addicted to it in the past. Was a huge pain to quit, but you’ve just gotta b***h up and do it.
Ideally you can taper off by lowering your dose every week for a few months.
If you’re like me that’s not possible because you’ll just take more of its around.
Cold Turkey sucks but it won’t kill you.
Take a couple weeks off work and go on vacation somewhere without it, keep yourself busy and entertained and in public places without kratom. Don’t get bored and you’ll forget about it and just feel like you have a bad cold.

Ive actually quit a few times for a couple weeks at a time, and I'll go workout and do all the stuff Im supposed to do.
And then I lay down in bed to chill and thats when it fricking hits me.
Its this intense emptiness, like I cant feel anything. I always end up turning to copius amounts of alcohol trying to get that feeling of tangible relief. But nothing ever works.
I dont know how tf to get past that feeling.

Does anyone have that kratom meme? It's a dystopian image of a hideous creature crouching and the text says something along the lines of "when you're trying to get the kratom out of the carpet".

lol. Welcome to opiate addiction. Time to move on to oxy or heroin. :^)

The only way i got off opiates was cold turkey, and it was forced on me because my supply ran out. It was a fricking nightmare. Have fun and next time you choose a drug don't be a fricking idiot by choosing an opiate.

How tf do you permanently quit opiates? Seriously fricking how.
Its this feeling in your mind and body of warmth and comfort that youve spent your whole life searching for.
How tf am I supposed to leave that behind? Knowing that I'll never feel good again?

        >How tf am I supposed to leave that behind? Knowing that I'll never feel good again?
Withdrawal was so fricking bad I wanted to die. I spent a week sweating the worst smelling sweat and couldn't get out of bed except to get booze which actually made the withdrawal worse. It was a month of mental frickery. I kept imaginging how happy I was as a kid and the world looked like it had the glow of sunlight coming through a window, but the world I lived in seemed grey and dead. I stopped talking to everyone.
Then one day I felt a little better. Every day it was a little bit better and I thought about junk less. The glow did come back to my world. I've been off opiates for over a year now and honestly it feels good. You can get out of that hole, anon. It is going to be rough but you can do it.
I never got into AA/NA because I think those people trade one addiction for another and you're with a bunch of people who most are going to relapse at some point. Do it for yourself and you'll be a happier person for it. I fricking promise the pain ends.

I dont know anon. Opioids are literally THE drug. I dont know how one could give up that warmth, euphoria and comfort forever. I have gone on extended breaks before but only with the knowledge that I can indulge after with reduced tolerance

Coming off isnt bad at all. Just make it easy on yourself and taper off very slowly over the course of a month or even more

I dont have the discipline to taper

maybe you are just depressed and kratom is your antidepressant. did you ever take prescribed antidepressants?

Its all in your head, you’ve decided that its going to be really hard. Its not that bad at all

Huh I was on kratom for like 2 years and I quit once my supply ran out no issues. I just used it for social gains cuz it turned me in a chatterbox. Why do people struggle to quit, its easy.

Im definitely depressed but feeling a tangible sense of physical relief has always been my weakness.
I could get on SSRI's and be happier, but everyday I'll have that moment where I realize the overbearing presence of numbdness and emptiness, that void that cannot be filled. Which is why kratom is so hard to quit for me.
Is there anything else other than opiates which can suffice in place of it? There must be something.
          Maybe marijuana?

I felt the same depression so that got me heavily researching dopamine, addiction etc.

I found that it was massively helpful for me to know the reasons I was feeling like shit. That it was withdrawal affecting my brain-chemistry and body etc, it's not that my brain was "broken" or "bad". I just had been bruising it badly with substance abuse due to my own choices and actions, knowing what it did to me. And now I'm paying the price.

    Kratom is comfort on demand.

It prevents you from growing as a person.

Every time you take kratom, you miss a chance - the chance to fix the root causes of your problems.

    You will make it, king.

Btw, it gets much easier after the first few weeks but if you find you can't do it then as a last resort perhaps you could try what my friend did - book a 3 month trip to some South American or Asian country where you don't speak the language and kratom is highly illegal. You will be in problem solving mode for the first weeks so kratom won't even enter your mind. Literally load up on your last kratom right before the plane and just go.

Funnily enough, I had to go Korea for a year where kratom is illegal.
A few months went by and I remember my portfolio was fricking mooning (first time ever hitting 6 figures) and I just laid there in bed thinking that if I had kratom, I could celebrate.
But without it.. I felt nothing.
I ended up finding a way to get some shipped to me.

I'm gonna hit you with some bro-psychology here and say it sounds like you're on the fence about really quitting.

        Even in the OP:
        >But I think I need to stop"

Doesn't really sound like a strong decision has been made that you NEED to stop.

For me personally, I realized that I was getting older and still nowhere near where I want to be in life and as long a I was doing kratom, I will not level up in life.

My dopamine reward systems had gotten so messed up, I couldn't enjoy anything without it and whenever I thought about starting a project or trying something new etc, the thoughts didn't excite me at all and why would they, when I have this nice "red button to push" in the form of kratom, that just fills me with the feeling that I don't need anything else in life and have "arrived" already.

I'm sure there are professionals who can help with this, worth looking into psychologists who specialize in addictions etc (NOT psychiatrists who put you on some other pills) and tackle this in therapy. But at the end of the day the decision to help yourself has to come from you.

I'm hooked on kratom simply because it's a god tier pre workout. I feel no pain and can workout for 2-3 hours + and don't even get me started on how good it is for long cardio sessions. I feel like I'm in heaven once that runner's high kicks in. Working out without kratom feels kinda underwhelming now, and that's why I need to quit.

I'm not familiar with this addiction anon, but I know the feeling of being addicted to something. I'd say check plebbit, I think there's literally a subreddit for kratom recovering addicts. I'm sure they have a path to recovery.

    >m just a hollow zombie with an insatiable craving for it since its the only thing that I can really feel.

My guess is that the only way out of this hell is feeling like this way for a while until you body adjusts so don't fight it. You put yourself in this situation and there are consequences, so do your time and dont ever touch this shit again.
