I refuse to benchpress because of danger

There is absolutely no reason to ever do a bench press. It is an extremely dangerous exercise. You are literally putting yourself in an extremely vulnerable position. You are lying down and holding a heavy bar right above your body/neck. It’s stupid, it also has no use for functional strength. When the duck are you ever going to lie down and push something up? So moronic and dangerous lmao. Just do push ups

The fact that you do not know what safety bars are tells me that you never entered a gym or benched anything in your life.

Your opinion on the matter has no value, Black person.

Yeah, just like the guy in the picture, he doesn't know what safeties are, and he never benched in his life, that's why he attempted 220kg+.

Germanon here, someone killed himself in a gym next town over last week. Apparently he had loaded a bar with 300KG they diddnt state which exercise tho. The other gym goer diddnt even notice the accident and found him already injured and he died on the spot before the emergency heli came.

the superior alternative is ring pushups, but having a ring set up is uncommon.

Just use lighter weight. Unless you're gonna compete for prize money, lifting heavy is not worth it. In terms of health and aesthetics powerlifting loses to bodybuilding

This kinda shit is exactly why power rack safety bars exist. But we still have dumbasses killing themselves. Natural selection.

I believe nothing especially bad happens to them, hematoma or a few broken ribs best case.

safety bars prevent almost every dangerous barbell incident in lifting
bench, squat, OHP, are all enhanced in terms of safety if you use safety bars
    >oh no i dropped the bar
    >*safeties catch it*

    just use safeties, silly goose

Same with squats, you are literally putting a heavy weight balanced right at the top of your delicate spine.
Craziness. I'm lucky I didn't frick my back up after years of ego squatting before I came to my senses.

There is NO reason to not be morbidly obese. Being fat provides a layer you can sit things on if you need to lift heavy... if you try to lift heavy without being obese, you'll damage your spine.
