some fricked up homeless looking guy keeled over in a bus stop and just frickin died eyes open on the floor. I called an ambulance and everyone was just walking past. They glanced at him and said yea he’s dead and carried on walking. Emergency services gave me instructions on the phone for pressing his chest and he popped up. He was fricked up on drugs or some shit incoherent. Ambulance arrived and hauled him onto a stretcher.
it was incredibly blackpilling. Dude could have just died and everyone would have just walked past. The ambulance people barely even gave a frick the only person who helped was some tweaked out random old guy who was either moronic or on drugs too.

when they lifted him up his pants lifted above his shins and he had sticky pads on from the hospital. I think he must have escaped from hospital or some shit

there is nothing to confirm that this guy was a drug addict except the fact that he kept fading into non responsive. He was fat not some tweaky meth head. It was really gross. By all means he could have been a junkie but it was more like a fat alcoholic

You did a good job anon, a life is a life

After it happened i was filled with guilt and shame. I saw all the people walking by and it shocked me but I understood their choice and I’ve felt burdened with guilt since for even hesitating. I didn’t want to touch him, I’ve never seen a dead person before. I saw him keel over and die. It was disgusting but I shouldn’t have acted with hesitation. I am glad for this experience as I will never act with hesitation in such a situation again. I am truly ashamed of myself for not doing better. Nonetheless me and some barely functional crackhead type guy saved his life so it’s hard to feel to bad. I am conflicted.

If he hurts somebody it's his fault, not OPs. If I work at McDonald's and I serve somebody even after they ask for a military discount am I a murderer? Hardly.

            Anonymous

murder is a legal term and providing a transaction is different than saving someone who is making a fatal mistake. You sound diagnosable moronic so I wouldn’t doubt that you really do work at McDonald’s.

Serving people is serving people whether it's required for their life or a convenience. If everyone served, there'd be no violence.

why live in your head and not reality? So what if you save a good healthy man with good morals. He lives his life and eventually goes on to become a paramedic saving crackheads all day. Have you not done significantly more damage saving the good man? It’s a pointless thought exercise. If you see someone dying in the street I think it’s generally safe to say you should attempt to stop it

Good on you man, obviously be careful, people can have all kinds of wild shit on them (used needles, doodoo, etc)

Thats largely where my hesitation came from, I was with my pregnant gf and I told her to stand off to the side. I didn’t want him to jump up in some cracked out PCP rage or some shit. I think my hesitation was fair but I still feel shame. He won’t even remember me. Weird feels

Good man. Moral character is undervalued. Most people pretend to be good natured when they're in front of people they know, but when there isnt anyone around to see them they behave as they truly feel. Not true for everyone of course since some people think stepping in will complicate things more, and they might feel theres nothing they can do anyway so they carry on.

I saw a man getting run over right in front of me 0,5 seconds before jumping out of the way of the car driving 50 km/h right at me, thus saving my own life.
He died right away but the most gruesome thing I saw that day was not the gore and all the blood and brains on the asphalt, but the tears and screams of his wife and, a short half an hour later, his 2 adult sons. I've never heard anything like this, they were almost animal-like.
This was 3 years ago and a friend suggested I should celebrate it as my 2nd birthday, but I find it offensive to celebrate something the day I saw a man's body getting absolutely rekt in front of me.

It's crazy that this thread exists and that I saw it, because I also (probably) saved someone's life yesterday. What are the odds? Dude was lying on the pavement, in his own vomit, half naked, unconscious. Called an ambulance, made sure he's breathing and prevented him from choking on his own vomit, until the paramedics finally arrived. Lots of people kept on walking and pretended that they didn't notice the guy or simply just ignored the situation. Only once I got involved a small crowd of concerned people started to form, it's really weird how these situations play out. Anyway, I just hope he's alright now and it wasn't anything serious.
