Raccoons are based and I love them. They’re my furry little friends

I do too but I think they’re eating my garden but I’m not cold hearted enough to airgun or trap them
I need to outsmart them but they are pretty clever and will outthink you in interesting ways

You can live trap them but be careful releasing them they aren't as cute when they're mad.

Yea you risk them fricking you or them up in the process considering they are scared of instakill, trapping always has an element of risk

saw a bear once running on a logging road. didn't get a picture unfortunately. was decently far too.

wow those are very well behaved. I'm pretty sure each one got one hot dog before anyone got two

      Anonymous

Anon, how would you describe the character of possums? And if you see a race reflected in them what would that race be?

        Anonymous

Not him but possums remind me of this old hobo I met back in 2006. At first you look at him and he looks like a scary frick that'll stab you, and then you talk with him and he's a really nice and friendly guy that just never found his niche in society. He had three cats that followed him everywhere and he just lived by digging through trash. I couldn't tell if he was white or latino, he was like a mass of burnt wrinkled leather dressed in rags and his voice was all fricked up so his accent could have been from literally anywhere. Every time I see possums I think of that guy, and the little babies trailing behind as his cats.

I once went on a safari trip in Tanzania. Some zebra ran through our camp while we were doing some yoga stretches on out porch.

I always get a smile when I see a friendly dog look up at me.

One time I kicked an opossum in the head at night running on accident and thought it was a cat so I reached down and touched it with my bare hand to see if it was okay and about lost my shit.

      Anonymous

They’re harmless and are as dangerous to touch as any wild animal
You wash your hands you’re ok
They can’t get your scent off and this can cause them to die by ostracism or predation
So touching them is worse for them
They will cross a road slowly as well so if you run them over you’re a powerless loser
      They don’t cary disease
      That’s hick fairytales

        Anonymous

Yeah it was more the shock of putting my hands on a wild animal that can be unpredictable, it's rare that possums bite but they can and the wounds can be nasty.

        Anonymous

Don't possums also eat ticks? And one reviews bad movies on YouTube too, he's a blast.

        *invades you*

I've seen a few of those fricks in my backyard. Cute, but they eat your lawn and shit in it, which can get annoying. But on the other hand, it's funny to watch a bunny just slump over and lazily eat your grass.

On my normal running route there's a barn owl. He's usually sitting on a branch above 5 feet away from the trail. A few nights ago there was a frog on the path and it swooped less than 2 feet in front of me to grab it. Shocking how unafraid of people it is, but a privilege to see him on my run!

It’s pretty smart considering a lot of predators notice changes in movement and don’t see in the same spectrum as humans
People are also like this they notice changes in movement in an environment before changes of color for example
Both depends on the rate of the change
A quick color change that clashes with the background is noticeable
But a slower change and slower movement is not

groundhogs, rabbits, bats, geese, skunks, not too many racoons I live out more in the suburbs they have more of them in the city they're called trash pandas.

I also just like to listen to birds and crickets and the sounds of summer, I run with music but then I walk back listening to nature (and cars and lawnmowers)

My sister had a friend, growing up, who had a pet raccoon. Wickedly clever, used to steal cigarettes and drink from soda bottles. It was adorable. Until it learned how to use his step-dad's lighter and burned half their living room down.

I nearly ran into a rotting armadillo. Frickers are always getting run over in my neck of the woods.
I've also met a male ginger tabby a few times back while running. He's been given a better home as of now, but he was a friendly big boy to give neck scratches.

All you gotta do is stick to the left side of the road and get a cheap reflective worker vest. Then if you get hit, you've done everything you need to sue that fricker for everything he's worth.

One of the local nature trails in my city had one of it's entrances right next to my old apartment complex. I've had deer get within spitting distance of me and I've seen foxes and beavers before. The deer always spooked me since they would get right at the edge of the trail and they can be kinda big sometimes. The beavers were neat since they dammed up a small portion of the creek. I'll be moving away from downtown and back to the apartment complex in about a month which is neat. I especially liked walking through the woods over there during winter when it's all covered in snow.
