He did lift, but he did a frickton of bodyweight workouts too. Cus D'Amato incorporated literally every type of training possible into his regime since he was like 13, pretty sure Mike talks about Cus taking him to hypnotist sessions where they told him "You're an animal, you exist to fight, you exist to kill, you exist to maul, you exist to maim" type shit. Truly inspiring.

Vicious cope. Everything Mike achieved was because he spent his entire life training.

How do I get the authority to pick up 13 year olds from boys shelters and turn them into super soldiers?

Genetics and hardwork aren't mutually exclusive, I know a lot of morons say genetics as a cope to justify their lazyness but it still holds some truth.
You need some type of genetic advantage and a lot of hardwork to become a pro fighter, even more to be a fighter but Mike wasn't only that he is one of the best boxers in history.
So he was a genetic freak and worked extremely hard.
You and I could work harder and smarter than Tyson ever did, we could roid and do everything to absolute perfection and we would still not be on Tyson level.

It's called lying. I don't know why, but black sportspeople are particularly susceptible to making up bullshit about their training routines.

Mike Tyson could bench 3pl8s as a teenager, you simply haven’t done enough research

Define teenager. 3pl8 at 17 isn't that impressive. 3pl8 at 14 is impressive.

He focused mostly on super high rep calisthenics at the behest of Cus D'amato. Like 10 sets of 100 sit-ups and push ups. Most of the crazy muscle was a mix of peak genetics and steroids. Cus literally picked Mike out from a school for delinquents at 13 years old and knew he would make a world class athlete because his physique was borderline supernatural.
