It’s weird how you can still tell it’s an AI image even with the added grain. Couple more years though and I’m sure brains won’t be able to spot them anymore.
AI will never bridge the gap, the fact is we don’t understand our own perceptions of reality so it’s impossible to train a model that can replicate it without errors. It will only ever be “good enough” but our brain will always unconsciously notice the problems.

I'd like to believe that but I honestly don't know. Crazy to think that literally 2-3 years ago these kinds of images just did not exist at all and now any schlub with a computer can make his own.
If it continues progressing at that rate then I don't see why we shouldn't have fake AI images that look 100% convincing in another few years. You could argue that the last 2-3% of the likeness is what will really make the difference due to the Uncanny Valley but I genuinely don't even think the current AI images are terribly uncanny, like there's not far to go.
How this will impact Fitness, we shall see (my post is primarily about Fitness, please understand).

We have entire social media platforms fueled by political schizos and boomers unironically sharing PHOTOSHOPPED images of le bad politician man eating or fucking children, much less AI generated ones. People are much less smart as a whole then you give them credit for.
