I started lifting 7 months ago

My lifts and my weight have both increased, but almost no changes on my body. Am I the only one? When I compare myself with what some people with the same practice time as me say they have achieved, I am doubtful

no way you're eating enough or progressing enough properly. i was a calisthenics gay for awhile since no gym in the area. did tons of pushups and shit, no changes. then i invested in a bench and some dumbbells and i've already seen big changes in just 3 months.
you should ideally look like you're taking a massive constipated-for-a-month shit on your last reps. really push yourself every time and the results will come.
you should look like tobey macguire in spiderman.

What weights of dumb bells did you get?

i started with 35 lb, then jumped up to 45s, but i got to seriously high reps with the 35s first because im poor. i also have some lighter baby 8 lb and 12 lb dumbbells for shoulders and what not.
i'd say check your form too and be honest with yourself. i did used to frequent a gym a couple years ago when i was living elsewhere and just starting out, but i would often cheat on benches and stuff to make myself feel strong. once i stopped doing that and really focused on doing it all right and pushing myself, the changes have started coming.
if none of that works for you at all, you may genuinely have low test and should see a doctor. i'm not trying to get jacked, just healthy and fit looking. it's working so far with just these dumbbells and a pull up bar.
i do a lot of high reps to compensate for the lack of weight selection.

    1. get your testosterone checked(this is probably the cause)
    2. ACTUALLY go to failure. you probably are mentally limiting yourself. if you dont listen to music while lifting, try that. it helps some people mentally with pushing until the failure
    3. if you're fat then eat less so you can actually see the muscle under your disgusting flobby layers of blubber
    4. if you're skeletonmode then eat more protein and calories overall

wtf is this defeatests bullshit. OP is just not eating enough or not having a single plan of how to work out/no routine. hormones is THE LAST gate youd check and never the first.

    >I am doubtful

You should be, because it is bullshit. people are like hurr 6 months and 3 inches on my arms!

It's all lies. Yes, the body takes a long time to grow. Before then you will see huge increases in strength.

To natties I say, look how much stronger you have got, despite little increase in size. But when there is an increase in size, imagine what strength will come with that.

Not only will you look better, but you'll be strong as frick, and it's all natty and will stay with you.

This, before any visible changes I noticed how much easier it was to carry water and wood vs. previous summer.

    Try higher volume
    like 5x8-12 instead of 5x5
I mostly do higher volume and I have had some pretty gnarly gains (my arms are tore up with stretch marks from the muscle I've put on in the last 9 months)
Down a scoop of protein powder in milk after every workout so you guarantee you get like 50g of protein into your system every workout day, but make sure you also eat a meaty meal that day.
If you lift 2x a week try going for 3x.

Same bro. 189cm currently 89 kg's. I've been lifting on and off this year, not great discipline.
Recently i've been going to the gym for about 2 months now and running 2-3x a week. My runs are great which is nice.
I started with SS a year ago and was deadlifting 350 and squatting 240 which were great records for me after about 7-8 weeks, but I started to get fat from GOMAD (lul) and quit.
Then I didn't go to the gym for a while, and then I got back into it with the full body 3x a week and cut.
I started at 175lbs, I did SS to 200lbs, then I cut to about 180lbs. Then I stopped cutting and the past 5 months have had about 2 months of not going to the gym but eating a regular, healthy-ish diet. The progress from the cut to a normal diet was actually really noticeable, but since then I haven't had much changes in the past month.
But, this past 2 weeks a lot of shit happened. I tried a 72 hour fast and it fricked me up and now I eat sweets like crazy and I never used to do that and it's bothering me.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, but I'm pretty sure if you keep going to the gym, change up your routine, and eat a good diet without junk food, you will see results.
I don't like eating too much cause I always feel like I'm gonna get fat.
That's probably why I'm currently DYEL
