This is what I experienced as well. Daily use definitely has negative effects, but you shouldn't have a problem if you have the self control to limit yourself. For me, I chronically smoke as long as I have weed on me, but if I am not around it I lose the urge completely.

I have smoked almost daily (mostly evenings) for 7 years and my life has since been the best it ever was. I’ve fixed problems, changed ways, made new friends, fulfilling hobbies and the relationship with my wife has never been better in the 15 years of being together. The only problem I have is the habit of smoking weed to enjoy it.

Yes, weed made everything nicer and i was like you. Someone who could only see the upside and thought he was immune because of discipline and hard work.

Months after getting my dream job I was away on vacation with my wife for 2 weeks to Spain. Ofcourse no weed so I had some withdrawals to work through. When I got back I rolled a joint, set back and relax. That was when I noticed something weird. My heart was racing and my breath felt shallow. I felt tingling in my fingers and a panic rising. I went to my wife for a walk and it only increased. Eventually I rushed to the ER in fear of a heart attack.

This experience was 8 months ago and only now have I found the commitment to stop entirely as I was convinced I just had to slow it down.

Haziness and fog ? I dont understand this bro. Smoke sativas instead and get medicinal if you can.

wtf is with all these weak willed people? have some discipline.

No matter the strain or combination with CBD I always experience brain fog after a night of heavy smoking. This has nothing to do with discipline. Stopping takes discipline.

Cope all you want and maybe you won’t experience the same things. Just remember frying your brain every day on this stuff is not healthy for it. This much you must recognize.

Doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, sales, sourcing, managers, etc. No way they go to work high and be successful. Artists, musicians, janitors, envelope stuffers- they can get high and be successful.

Does it stunt your brain? Probably shifts how your neurons fire, but my original point was that you can smoke every day for years, stop, and still be successful. You can also never smoke a day in your life and still not make it out of hourly retail. It depends on who you are as a person.

The best longitudinal study i've seen on this topic showed chronic use lowered IQ by up to 8 points. The effect was positive with total time (ie how many years you smoke) but also with number of episodes (ie you smoked as a teen, quit, smoked again in your mid 20s, quit, smoked again in your mid 30s onwards)
8 points doesn't seem like much but it's half a SD. Whether you find that personally significant or not is your call

But I had to stop after a couple months because I was starting to experience symptoms of psychosis but I shit you not when I say that's the most gains I've ever made in my life. Last winter I would smoke a pinch every morning, then immediately stay in my freezing cold pool for ten minutes. Talk about euphoria, I would write like a maniac for hours afterwards and made great progress on my novel. I’m planning on building a freezer ice-bath before I start smoking again.

During the time I was smoking and working out, I used to take freezing cold showers early in the morning, it was the best way to freshen myself up and get ready for work.

I became mentally dependent on weed and can attest for sure it’s bad for you but not in the way you might think.

I’ve developed habits to use weed for everything. I would want to be ‘a little high’ all the time. The only reason I would want to be sober is to get more high. This made me realize I didn’t actually like BEING high, I liked GETTING high. It was all fun and games the first few years, that is true, but eventually got panic attacks and feeling less motivated. I also wasted thousands of euro’s on the stuff which could’ve been spent on better home gym equipment, taking my wife out and my hobby.

I’m sober for 4 days now and thrown away everything I had. Vapes, papers, grinders and 30 euros worth of good weed. I don’t want to look back and am already dealing with withdrawal symptoms. So now I lift, drink a lot of water, write, do creative hobbies and try to distract myself from that voice telling me it’s okay to just smoke a little. “Only on weekends” and “just 2 times a month”. But I know this obsessive compulsion of mine and have to be rigorous.

Find out why you want to use and try to deal with that. It can be fun but don’t try to make a habit from it like I did.

It's fricking terrible for you, I don't care if you smoke it, vape it, ingest it, it's all terrible for you. This is crystal clear to anyone who pays attention or does any research on the subject.

then how come since I started smoking it years ago my life, motivation, discipline, sex life and social skills have all catapulted to the skies?

You're a fricking moron taking a substance that you have no idea about the detailed effects it has. Literally nothing that was said in that post is false and none of your subjective experiences even come close to contradiciting the objective effects of cannabis in the body. You just dismissed them all simply because it makes you feel good. Alcohol makes me more social too and improves my social life but that doesn't magically counter the negative effects it has on my fricking liver just because I'm having fun at a party.
Also if you're under 25 (I'd bet money that you are) you are thinning the layer of gray matter on your thus-far undeveloped prefrontal cortex. This is seemingly irreversible btw

Weed doesn't affect people differently outside of the perceived high and obviously the high is good, but you are not magic and you are not special in that the chemical reactions going on in your brain/nervous system and body are the same as in anyone elses, and they're negative.

Irrelevant. The quality of your sleep is lessened and your recovery is suboptimal. Alcoholics can sleep 8 hours a night too and that doesn't mean alcohol isn't negatively affecting their sleep, even if they cope by telling themselves it helps them get to sleep more easily.

I have bipolar disorder and it does wonders for my social skills and anger issues. Its been something that has helped me mend friendships and get forgiveness from family members.

I think some people benefit from it and some people dont. Its something that has many strains and many different ways that it can affect you, the same strain can one day make you calm and the next give you paranoia.

You also need to take into consideration tolerance and doing it with discipline and control.

Its either a benefit or a hazzard depending on your mood and how you take it (edible, smoke, vape, etc)

So to be honest you have to experiment and see how it affects you.

    Much love.

I'm trying to quit right now. Day 6 and I had flu-like symptoms, today just headache in the background constantly.

I had to because it ruined my sleep, fricked with my memory, made me anti-social, gave me chronic dry eyes, smoker's lungs and made anxiety and depression so much worse that I don't really have them when I'm sober. Lastly, I gained 50 lbs and while I've dropped 20 already, it destroys my motivation and makes me binge eat, hurting my progression while making it more painful because it increases appetite.

I've had my fun. Time to put it aside and look out for my health.

Cannabis can harm memory and cognitive ability.

You'll never get a definitive answer because weed isn't inherently good or bad. It depends on the user and how they choose to use it. Some people only use it at the end of the day after they take care of their shit, and other people stay high all day and it fricks with their life. It's not necessarily healthy because you're breathing in smoke, but also it's less likely to cause cancer than cigarettes, but it does have some benefits with controlled use and it's impossible to OD on it.

      >You'll never get a definitive answer because weed isn't inherently good or bad.
God I hate dumb fenceshitters. Of course it's bad, this is a definitive answer. Just because dumb addicts cope by disagreeing doesn't make it any less definitive.
Look at the many explanations of why it's bad ITT. The only arguments anyone has for it not being bad is "but it makes me feel good and I can't immediately or conciously determine the negatives therefore it's good!" while completely ignoring the long term effects it has on your dopamine, testosterone and sleep quality.

Even if you ignore literally everything bad about it other than the fact that it annihilates your sleep quality it should STILL be considered bad for you because sleep is so fricking important to every aspect of your health.
Smoke it if you want but don't kid yourself by pretending it's up in the air as to whether or not it's doing you harm.

That doesn't make it "not inherently good or bad"
Opiates are great pain relief too, that doesn't mean they are harmless.
I'm glad you found relief but don't pretend like 99% of weed users aren't just potheads smoking for recreation and lying to themselves about the diminished sleep quality/hormonal damages.

Source on the claims: your ass and the anons here apparently

          OK dude lol

Do you need me to post a source proving that alcohol can damage the liver too? Or that smoke is bad for the lungs? Fire hot? I'm not spoonfeeding you you dumb homosexual.
Literally just type weed + prolactin, testosterone, dopamine or sleep quality into pubmed, youtube or any fricking search engine you piece of shit. I know you wont because you're a worthless vegetable who doesn't want to do anything, let alone something that might threaten his addiction.

Depends on what you use it for.
I use an oil after dinner/before bed. Rarely enough to get much of a buzz. I started using it in the last couple years. Great for pain relief and inflammation from exercise. Massive improvement in sleep quality. I stopped drinking entirely. So my answer is I am better rested, in a better mood, get over pain quicker, and exercise much more (and I already exercised a lot). I'd say I eat less, and definitely don't miss the booze.
I see the two girls one bong meme is posted again here - honestly, women like that are hard-wired to get fat, and if they're smoking brain damaging amounts of pot, which if you watch their videos is what they're doing, of course you'll have the impression that weed is completely bad for you. I posit that they'd have lumped out from iced cappuccinos and french fries independent of their cannabis consumption.

I use it for sleep, have been doing so for 25+ years because it's the only thing that consistently works for me.
After my teenage years being full of insomnia and my early 20s as well, it was time to fix it. Weed works, but I hate weed culture and don't want to talk about it, just hand me my bowl and let me drift off so I don't have to watch the sun rise again.

    >the highs were extremely inconsistent despite the same dosage each time, my last dose resulted in a dissociative episode that lasted 24 hours and change and was so jarring that I gave away the rest of my edibles out of fear
I'd like to give it a try again but this time with a significantly smaller dose like 2.5 to 5 mg to manage my chronic mental issues but the fear of slipping mentally and not coming back out is very prevalent.

Prob not the worse thing, in moderation (I.E once a week or even less). That’s the problem though, people who smoke rarely do it in moderation, they go through life stoned.

Yes I know stoners generally aren’t out hurting anybody but you can’t honestly tell me that having to go through life high all the time is somehow a necessity or improves your quality of life. That’s just stupid and you sound like an addict. Imagine if someone told you they need to be buzzed if not drunk everyday just to go do their job and function like a normal person. It’s literally the same thing, but stoners are in hella denial that their precious plant is addictive. I truly don’t know one successful person in my life who smokes weed on the daily. And by successful, I mean someone who truly has their shit and priories together, like has good career, a healthy stable family, good health, doesn’t party or do toxic shit in their free time, etc.

Everything in moderation, personally it’s a great appetite stimulant and pre workout for me as a hard gainer. It lets me zone out and shovel food into my mouth, that’s not good for you fatties. Being high at the gym is great, I feel like it enhances my mind muscle connection, I can sit down on bench and before I even realize it I’ve done like 12 slow controlled reps, and it just feels good. I start playing with the weight, holding it down in the stretch for a solid 5 seconds, explode up, come down nice and slow, hold it an inch off my chest for 5 seconds, lift it up slow as frick. Really just making sweet love to the barbell, it’s great. 10/10.

It’s not that “damn I’m hyped wow power energy” effect, I have anxiety so that shit ain’t my bag anyways, but it makes every workout feel like a really good workout, like damn I hit everything, squeezed out every rep, everything is sore and pumped in just the right way, like a nice afterglow.

I fricking love taking a nuclear dose of thc oil and going for a run on a forest trail (I lift sober, no fricking around), by the time I’m done running it’s starting to kick in and I’ll pick a route that will take me a couple of hours to walk out, just baked innawoods listening to music. But I’m a firefighter and work 24 hours on and 72 off so I’m basically a NEET, I can afford to go on a 30km Roman legionary march high as frick to stay shredded. If the weed is preventing you from being productive or reaching your goals you have a problem and need to cut that shit out, if you’re smoking herb like a maniac and you’re b***hing your vo2max is shit you need to cut that shit out, if you feel you NEED to get high every day you need to cut that shit out and take a tolerance break.
