nice trips but 10k is technically the safe upper limit but our bodies produce even more than that naturally in regular sun exposure.

          Anonymous

Yes, but the vit D produced by the body has no chance of causing overdose, unlike supps.

Yep and vitamin d produced by the body also doesn't interfere or enhance any micro absorption.

There is practically no chance to overdose on vit D and also many people have vit. D insufficiency (~90% in my region). 30 minutes in the sun produces ~10-20k units of vit D, so the 4k which is "recommended" is basically nothing. Don't be afraid to take a few of those pills or get some in larger dose of vit D. I take 10k almost daily

Why is everyone hating on this guy? He's right. Oral supplements only have a 7% absorption right under best conditions. So seven out of those a hundred times you do it it works. But with IVs it works 100 out of 100 times full absolution. Yeah it's expensive AF but he ain't wrong. Ya homies really mad you poor? Smh

                >Oral supplements only have a 7% absorption right under best conditions.
                You're full of shit.
Vitamin D3 has anywhere from 75-90% bioavailability. D2 has between 50-65% bioavailability.

So by default your argument of 7% is automatically negated.
B12 is insanely easy to absorb. The dissolving tablets under your tongue have almost 80% bioavailability.
Vitamin C is also insanely easy to absorb, below 1g a day it has 70-90% bioavailability and afterwords begins to show drastic diminishing returns.

NAC one of the hardest supplements to absorb into the body is only 10% bioavailability and that's still 3% higher than your stupid fricking number.
So let me tell you outright. You have no idea what you're talking about. We absorb supplements extremely easily into our bodies.
The problem is retaining micros dumbass.
You piss out about 90% of a general multivitamin because 1. the body can only absorb so much at one time. 2. absorption antagonism via transport mechanism or outright blocking of a micro. 3. the body reads your blood levels as too high and states it must be taken out of the body for your own safety.

Absorbing is not the fricking issue at all. it's day to day dietary factors that cause chronic micro depletion.
You are not eating enough one on thing, you are eating too much of another, you ate this in a period where you should have waited or didn't eat this with your meal.

In fact most IV supplementation would be much more expensive as rarely does anyone ever have multi-micro deficiencies. So literally paying for a fricking medical grade bag to treat what a pill that cost all of 0.01cents can fix is fricking moronic you little israelite.

          - Vitamin D3
          - Magnesium
          - Fish oil
          - Ashwagandha

Ash actually made a noticeable difference, after about 2 weeks of taking it consistently I got super horny, which I imagine is from the increase in test.

You're correct, your body only absorbs a small fraction of the supplement.

That's why you take good supplements that have like 400-6000% of your daily value in a handful of pills, depending on the supplement.

Life Extension is a good brand that recognizes this and packs their supplements

            Anonymous

But just cuz you have more in your system at one time does not mean you are going to absorb more in that one instance. Which you need to do is take those high amounts every two and a half hours throughout the day and maybe. Maybe you might get a slight benefit from it but it's still negligible compared to an IV infusion of supplements.

D is a liposoluble vitamin, your body has no efficient way to get rid of it if you take too much.
I would absolutely not use more than 2000 IU daily unless I had a severe deficiency.
For moderate deficiencies, doctors recommend 1000 IU daily.

Average person need 10k just to maintain the levels above 40 ng/ml. Everything below this level is a serious deficiency. Ideal fange wpuld be 60-80 ng/ml. If someone has any pathology like autoimune dysease or cancer, the need to be above 80

not to mention overabundance of specific micros is exactly why most people are deficient.
blasting 5k IU of anything and thinking it won't cause a chain reaction of overabundance and/or deficiencies elsewhere is absurd.
Supplements are way to plentiful, you're suppose to be taking like 25% of your daily amount from them not 2k%.

So much this. I took 50k IU of D3 and K2 daily and I became calcium deficient. Apparently all of the calcium went to my boner, making it 1" bigger. Doctor told me to start taking more calcium and to massage my boner everyday so calcium won't build up too much in it. She said she would show me advanced massaging techniques during late night sessions and offered to waive the doctor's office visiting fee.

Taking 10k for months my levels were only 52ng/dl being an inside neet. Which is not deficient, but probably a hair below ideal, and also totally nowhere near toxicity.

nice trips but 10k is technically the safe upper limit but our bodies produce even more than that naturally in regular sun exposure.

The "safe upper limit" is whatever doesn't produce toxic blood serum levels. And you can go much, much higher than 10k for extended periods without going super high. 10k is absolutely safe, but it's not some limit

      Anonymous

I'm inside all the time due to work from home and between that and winter it dropped my levels to very low (mid-to-low 20s). I was prescribed 5000 IU once daily.
10k IU is pretty unusual and usually used as a loading dose. 5k IU can be maintained almost indefinitely (though you should get blood levels checked 1-2 times a year). 10k IU is pretty close to the upper limit of tolerable. They have larger amounts in the forms of injection but it can quickly become dangerous.

calcium dumbass. you're retaining too much calcium.

when you take vitamin D you must either supplement magnesium or k2. you don't have a choice.
magnesium activates vitamin D, activated vitamin D does not raise calcium.
K2 expresses a protein that binds calcium to bones. Which lowers free floating calcium.

What form of k2 do you take? K2mk4 and k2mk6 help helicobacter pylori. It flourishes on them. You need k2mk7. H.pylori resulta in acidic reflux that can cause chest pain.
Also d3 may aggrevate magnesium deficiency. It's needed for many functions and deficiency can cause inflamation and pain.

25 mcg of B12 is the upper limit, moron
that being said, I only take multivitamin and fish oil capsule twice a week cause I have a proper diet and too much vitamins can be detrimental as well
the only exception is D3 + K2, I do take that daily in winter 100mcg each

Water soluble ones aren't detrimental and the fat soluble ones are. There's not that many fat soluble ones. Pic real is how I know you are moronic.

the fact you eliminate the water soluble ones faster doesn't mean they can't do harm while in the body

Also yeah I'm aware you can tolerate up to several times the RDA, that doesn't mean it's good for metabolism

Tell you more, the sheer complexity of the body makes caution a necesity when taking anything that hasn't been eaten as a complex by our ancestors, like natural whole foods. If the body was code, the many chemical interactions would probably make for an illegible spaghetti code.

How’s your hairline? Too much vitamin D leads to hair loss. But also too little D leads to hair loss.

Did you have your blood tested for levels before starting to take this?

  25. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

I take 800 IU every other day but only in the winter. This is based on blood tests.

      Anonymous

and have the blood tests improved after the supps?

        Anonymous

Yes but I didn’t have far to go. I was right at the border of being too low at winter but now I’m in the normal range. During the summer I’m in the normal range by just being outside regularly. In the winter only my face is exposed to sunlight so I need the supplement.

It’s funny - the symptoms for too little D are the same for too much D. Hair loss, anemia, etc.

          Anonymous

          >It’s funny - the symptoms for too little D are the same for too much D. Hair loss, anemia, etc.
too much vitamin D == too much calcium == iron inhibitor == anemia
Please remember that just because you do blood labs have a vitamin or mineral circulating in the blood doesn't mean it's being utilized correctly.
Body science is mostly a fricking meme and 9.99/10 people that tell you to take something have no idea of the total ramifications of taking said thing.

Vitamin d binds in the intestines, calcium binds to the same vitamin d, when calcium eventually is uptaked into its transport method it blocks iron from using the same transport method. If I remember correctly it's called the enterocyte cell of the intestine which is responsible for transferring calcium/iron to blood.

So even if you take k2 you are doing nothing to prevent this blocking of iron.
Vitamin D is perfectly safe, but it should not be abused.

      Start with micro dosage vitamins.
No point jumping on literally everything when you have no idea what is ailing you and large dosage supplements actually aggravate health issues because the body does not enjoy having to sit and filter out 99% of your daily intake of a vitamin from one fricking supplement.
      I take vitamin gummies, it's 4 a day for ~~*their*~~ dosages.
I just take two a day.
it's like 25% of my daily intake across the board. absurdly into the low range.

Use supplements as intended, to supplement. Not replace.

no one supplements arginine, we've told you this for a decade now newbie.
arginine is one of the only supplements that actually doesn't do anything. When you ingest it the body absorbs it, shuts off your own l-arginine production and pisses out the rest.
      l-citrulline only.

Most important thing is to take supps with no irritating fillers like silica or iron oxides, silica accumulates in the body and causes inflammation, also to only take supps therapeutically there is no point in just taking everything, better to eat food. Definetly don't take any nitric oxide boosting stuff or fish oil. Don't take l-carnitine. Consider trying magnesium, coq10, vitamin b1, b3, b6, taurine, glycine according to whatever you are trying to solve, also don't shy away from pharmaceuticals, aspirin, thyroid, cyproheptadine can be very beneficial. Still waiting. Just took a pill and I feel amazing 🙂

homie, I take Vitamin D3 in Olive Oil, which is cut with sunflower/safflower oil because of Olive Oil Mafia. That shit gets peroxidized as well, but at least I know that the D3 in it does what I expect it to. Fish Oil stops doing what it's suppose to when it gets peroxidized.

                Not that guy.
Fish oil if proven to fresh can be beneficial.
Recent studies showed 25% of fish oil supplements currently on market were already oxidized when tested and 50% were within range to be considered oxidized within a short time period after buying them.
That's a pretty big risk factor.

We're in summer here in NZ, was taking Vit D, until a month ago, as I was getting ill, doctor sugesseged I stop and it's been fine since. Too much with beiing outside in the sun, winters the oposite for me working indoors and hardly any sun, so will start taking it again once the clocks change.

If you're white and get a lot of sun, then 4000 IU of D3 may be too much btw.
I take 1000 IU of D3 every day as part of a daily multivitamin. When I don't get a lot of sun or when it's winter and I don't see the sun for a long time I take an additional 5k IU of D3 every three days or so.
Other than that I just try to eat whole foods.
The reason I mention being white is because with less melanin it is easier for your body to make D3 from sun exposure. If you have dark skin it is more difficult and you can supplement with more.
It also depends on how fat you are. D3 is fat soluble so if you are really fat you can take more. If you're a healthy weight then you don't have much to worry about with respect to weight and vitamin D3.

Yes, but not nearly as much as black people. There is always a range and shifting values in biology.

I get what you're saying, but I spend all year round perpetually outside until sundown. Even white people can get a lot darker than people think. VitD goes down quite a bit for me by the end of summertime.
