I travel 200nights a year for work. Im tired of basic pushups and squats so I'm putting together a hotel room excersise kit.

Currently;
Resistance bands for rows and heavier squats.
2 yoga blocks for deeper pushups.

Any other ideas? Must be light and take up little space.

I travel about 150 days a year for work and frick carrying a kettlebell around. That is insanity.

To answer OPs question, a lot of hotels have small gyms now.
You’re fricked at motels, but if staying in larger cities scout the hotels with small recreational rooms and use whatever dumbbells they have.

Also, give up on very structured routines like PPL.
You have do whatever you can, when you can.

1 hotel gyms are usually complete shit.
2 I try not to stay at terrible chain hotels, the type that must buy a weight stack and a treadmill to tick the "gym" requirement on the booking website.
      3. Even if there is a gym, and it's half decent I don't want to waste time finding it.

      Picture is phoenix.

dude looks like hes traveling european countries plz understand

      >looks like hes traveling european countries
Yes Europe is less likely to have gyms, asia is even less likely, MENA almost never, Mexico and south very rare, Australia NZ rarely. Us and Canada usually does if you stay at corporate chains but they're almost always terrible, hotel and gym.

        >terrible chain hotels
In what world are marriott, Hyatt, and hilton terrible? The hotels arent going to be set up with all your powerlifting equipment, but they always had a couple benches, dumbbells, some machines and cardio equipment. You can get fit off of that

          >In what world are marriott, Hyatt, and hilton terrible?
In a world where there is any other option. Why chose the soulless corporate shithole that's exactly like the one from last night if you don't have to?

But it's a bit beside the point. I need to carry some gear for places that don't have a gym so why get hung up on the few places that do have a shitty gym.

I like concrete, if that's what it is. Has a clean modern look. Hardwood is such a pain in the ass, it's hardly less upkeep than carpet. Unfortunately carpet has the best acoustic properties and nothing else comes close.

Ive thought about squeezing one of those door frame pull-up bars in my bag. But a lot of hotels don't have door frames, just roller doors to the bathroom.

But pull-ups aren't better than pushups and squats. They are better than resistance band rows

How do you eat healthy on the road? I'm traveling for business and the only place that isn't solely deep frier based is a bakery. Been eating deli meats and smoked fish but that's hardly much better.

          >How do you eat healthy on the road?
Easy in western countries, just go to restaurants and order actual meals. Dont get sucked into the fast food, airport sandwich, roadside slop. Asia is harder with the massive carb focus. But you dont actually have to eat all the rice/noodles. You can just eat the stuff on top and order another. Proper shitholes theres not much choice. Eat whats available.

But eating healthy is over rated. Just dont eat too much and do some exercise and youll be fine. Although if youre a fat frick to start with youll keep being a fat frick only now with more excuses.

get yourself a pull up bar you can stick in a door frame
          bring it everywhere with you

          >pull up bar you can stick in a door frame
I think Ive got to try this. I assume they flat pack for postage so it should travel pretty well.

Grab some sand/water filled kettlebells or a water-filled power bag/bulgarian bag. They won't get crazy heavy, but its another 30-70lbs to add to your basic moves and can make for good cardio if you're in a shithole where you can't run outside.
Also ditch the band rows (or do them as finishers) for bw horizontal rows under a table/desk. The height of your feet and the angle of your body will determine the resistance. You can also probably MacGuyver some way to do resistance band pullovers even if its just anchoring then bands to one corner of the bed. Do those for a vertical pull.
So a proper 'routine' would be something like
          >pushup progression
          >horizontal row progression
          >pike pushup progression
          >banded pullover
          >band curls
          >band tricep extensions
          >band lateral raises
And every other day you would do 20-30m of bag or kettlebell work

          >pushup progression
          done
          >horizontal row progression
          ill look into it
          >>pike pushup progression
          done
          pullover
          >>band curls
          >>band tricep extensions
          >>band lateral raises
          maybe for fun

      >you don't even want to make this work, it's obvious in your post about how no part of the world has decent gyms
The best way to make an excersise routine work is to make it routine. That mean the same thing every single week. Very hard to do if you're constantly having to find new gyms with variable equipment each time. Very easy if it's 2min set up out of your own equipment. That's why Ive spent the last year doing various bodyweight progressions, that's why I want to carry my own gear and not be dictated to by where I am.

If there is a nice gym to hand I'm happy to use it. If there's no gym and I've actually got time to search for one nearby then I'll probably use that time to go for a run instead. But none of that is an excersise routine. You don't see progress if you only wait for the right circumstances.

Try yoga, its pretty good for relaxing, you don't always have to do vigorous exercise if you walk a lot.

If you're on a layover just relax, take it easy. you don't have to run every single day. Eat breakfast, have coffee, play some vidya if you have a gaming laptop or something.

If you mean maintaining and building muscle use the hotel gym.

you can also do rows by tying knots in a sheet and wedging it at the top of a closed doorframe. the best part is that you're only going to frick up the hotel's sheets, not yours. you can also do pull-ups with a modification of this technique.

Make sure you have Bulgarian split squats on the menu - keep your shin vertical without moving your knee forward, keep your back as upright as possible and drop as deep as you can. If you're strict with that form they'll be punishing without any resistance.

If you're American check with your health insurance to see if they offer a free/cheap (it's $25/mo for me) Active&Fit subscription. It acts like a nationwide gym membership that lets you go to a ton of different gyms around the US without signing up for that specific gym. You just bring your membership number up to the front desk of the gym and they input it and give you a membership card.

The Active&Fit website also has a bunch of different workout videos and stuff for at home workouts, but I've never tried any of them.
