You definitely can if you set your mind to it, even if it's only one rep.
I am a sleepless alcoholic binge drinker and I hit 2pl8 by just grinding it (it's a fun lift).
Might take years, might take months. Just grind it out and experiment with different rep ranges and training methods.
It's not worth getting fat for though.
And a friendly reminder to never listen to people who claim that you should be able to lift x amount of weight in y amount of time as they are more often than not beginners with no understanding of how lifting or the body work.
I've been autistically tracking my macros every day, lifting 5 days a week starting off on 3x5 bench to 5/3/1. After 6 months I'm only at 90kg 1rm after starting at 50kg. I've also benched 100kg when I was younger so I have muscle memory.
How the fuck is everyone on IST hitting 100kg after 3 months?
They don't or they are incredibly gifted in the department of having good leverages for bench.
Same goes for reddit.
There is not a single rule that says you should be able to lift any amount of weight in a given time frame, that is pure bullshit peddled by irrelevant fitness influencers and trolls online.
Stop caring about powerlifting memes. 2pl8 isn't hard but constantly progressing in strength means you have to do 3h sessions at the gym and when doing bodybuilding you can just go for 45m 3-4 times/wk and have a lot of spare time for other activities
None of those. I've been lifting for 5 years now and switched to bodybuilding abpiy about a year ago and haven't looked back. So many hours wasted on powerlifting. I used to do 2 DL sessions per week and those alone took like 1h each and then I'd do accessories afterwards.
I thought I wasn't gonna get there anytime soon, then I accidentally benched 92.5kg for three reps (although the third rep was understandably pretty sloppy) the other night when I put the wrong plates on the bar (I was only supposed to put 82.5kg on). I've only been going back to the gym for 3 months now after a well over five year hiatus. You just gotta be consistent.
>muh numbers
literally who cares, as long as you look good

Just keep on benching?
I was benching that 3 months after I got started, maybe you're a literal GDE
It doesn't count if it's half your body weight

I wonder if Saudi Princes use midgets instead of clay pigeons whe the shoot skeet?
That's what I would do
I started going to the gym in october and i hit 1,5 on the bench for reps yesterday after struggling with 1,25 for weeks. Life's good. 176lbs btw.

I am 178lbs and can bench 2 plates for reps, you have to believe in yourself man and train incline bench first always

You gonna be too tired to lift that shit afterwards
Yes you will.
