I've seen that image of phil a million times, but I cannot believe he actually posed like that. That pic had to have been taken before he exhaled to do the vacuum pose because even with his hgh gut you cant look like that without purposefully trying to
because u don't do planks - abs ARE your diet, your calorie budget in the sense that u'll quickly lose them if u'll get fat, BUT there is no reason to not train abs per se, NEVER do crunches, useless garbage, do planks, u should easily burn upper abs going from elbows to hands and back and alternating sides, u can even lift ur knee to chest holding on hands and one leg/toe obiously ( saying hello to your psoas) and then go to alternatiing up and down hands elbows
stretching, breathe - it hurts, but it works, everyone should do pec stretch, face flat and double 90 deg arm and twist your body on it, only way it works, push shoulder down
if u don't target abs specifically u'll get noobie gains, always irregardles of age, even hormones - u might be gypoganadal, doesn't matter, u're gonna get new visible to a degree muscle if u START to train it provided u're lean enough to matter, and even if u're fat ( not obese ) getting muscles will tone your physique, that's what people mean, u're toned, u're 20% BF
calves- same shit, there's no genetics, just universal hate for doing calves, stretching calves
remeber that stretching increases your muscle tissue span, effortlessly, but somewhat painfully, life is pain, breathe, ease out a little and breathe, the muscle's longer, and it lies nicely on frame
so planks are super nice because it's static and all encompassing useful way to train abs in stretched position, so that u're not walking with your tail tucked because your abs are weak if u stand straight, i aways do bridges, on shoulders on hands afterwards, and see how far i can get 😀

that's what i was about to say:

remeber the gains u got when u started working out X? >yeah
u gonna get abs u're capable of finally - if u dare to work em that is >o...h...
yeah 😀

Puzzlemaster has good photography/cinematography, honestly
I wonder what kind of camera he uses, his videos are aesthetically pleasing aside from his physique.

When people say “abs are made in the kitchen” they’re just referring to the fact that even if you have well-developed abs, you won’t see them unless you’re lean. That said, training the abs for hypertrophy, will absolutely make them more pronounced and defined just like any other muscle. I train my abs harder than anyone I’ve ever seen, by far and I do not believe it is a coincidence that I have better abs than anyone I’ve ever seen. When I see people who are lean, but don’t train their abs directly, I can tell. They might have definition, but there just isn’t any three-dimensional development.
Now almost doesn’t do train abs, most train them terribly. For whatever reason people think that you’re supposed to do high rep sets for your abs as fast as possible. Would you train any other muscle that way? Not unless you’re an idiot. Train your abs, slow and controlled in hypertrophy rep range with a focus on generating as much tension as possible, and make sure that you overload them progressively just like any other exercise. Crushing crunches? Switch to decline crunch. Too easy? Start adding weight.
This shit isn’t rocket science.
Why do you think, OP?
Couldn't tell you.
Personally I think its bullshit that abs are made in the kitchen.

>abs are made in the kitchen
Applies only to people who already lift.
it means that you need a proper diet to make them well visible.
Working out is a requirement.

That's not phil dude thats kai and some random guy who probably retired in the early 2010s
Has anyone ever seen Scooby and Jeff Cavaliere in the same room? Cuz I sure as fuck haven't...
Are you implying they had gay sex?
Scooby is Jeff's wife. They have multiple children.
I learned how to do pullups from this video
scooby digitally molested me into posting on IST
lets be real, thats how gay people reproduce - they molest you when you are young and you turn gay as well
Same
I met him in Germany last year and I told him that I did my first 10 pull ups thanks to that video
When people say this, what they really mean is you gotta do crunches while you're waiting for stuff to boil or fry.
>why can't I get them if I just stop eating?
i can. i had an 8 pack from just not eating food in high school.
It's because abs are made in the gym, but SHOWN IN THE KITCHEN.
Like you know.... ALL THE OTHER MUSCLES.
Abs are made in the squat rack.
You are supposed to eat the abs
look
weighted crunches and planks with a good diet is ALL you need
