If bro science is aristotelean because of the ''if it works it works'' ideology

If bro science is aristotelean because of the ''if it works it works'' ideology

Then what is platonistic lifting? Just trusting your gut? Intuition?

Platonistic lifting is doing "functional" lifts only, sports specific lifting you do it because its #1 fun and applicable #2 beneficial to your body and mind #3 will help you beat others in the sports you play.

Diogenic would've been doing no lifts just cooming and running at most.

Yes. Frank Yang did this when he did an entire complex routine strictly min/maxed for sprinting and vertical leap, ostensibly just to make a training compilation full of screaming and violin playing and his HOW TO RUN LIKE TOM CRUISE video.

I don't read but I'm whatever uses logic to figure out what to do. Scientists observe a bunch of average people, already a bad start, and then misinterpret the data because they can't logic. Broscientists observe strong people, good start, and copy them. Broscience is obviously better but I'm smart enough to figure shit out so I do that.

Learning about science in university is what convinced me to drop out and pick up a trade. The current state of science is an absolute joke and there's no realistic way to fix it.
Every time I see a study posted anywhere I assume it's wrong and that the people behind it are hacks with an agenda who faked their data. Bro science isn't fantastic but I'd rather the 75% chance of common sense and knowledge being correct over the coin flip that is anything that comes from academia.

Platonic lifting would be identifying the fundamental forms of lifting and replicating that as best as possible. figure out what is essential to each movement and do that. I think the squat, deadlift, press and pull up are probably good examples. The turkish get up is very much off limits. I think the snatch is fine but the C&J is a bastard that combines two forms imperfectly.

Anon doing an unironic PhD in philosophy here. Knowledge in Plato's philosophy is the generation of new forms. So bro science is actually in line with Plato.
t.does bro splits based on a mix of research and personal experience.

    >read about something working for someone online
    >decide if it’s worth trying
    >try it out
    >if I feel like it works, I keep doing it. Otherwise, I stop
    >do this for 10 years and look better than 95%+ of men
Am I ready to compete at the highest possible level? No, and I don’t put enough time or energy into it to get to that point anyway because I don’t care to. Trying new things is fun. Finding something that feels good is exciting. It’s like playing a video game for fun vs learning the speed running strats. The search for optimal freezes most people in their tracks anyway
