Probably with less reps until you get stronger.
The assisted pull up/dip machine is kinda different so you will need a session or two to get used to doing them unassisted.
Dips don't make sense. I'm 82 kg, I can dip with +20 for 8-10 reps, but someone equally as strong as me on many other exercises weighing 90kg can struggle massively
I just suck at them. Haven't done enough of them and it feels like shit. 105 kg right now.
I think if I got used to doing them early in my program they would go up fast.
Either your ROM is kinda shit or you're just strong in dips bro. I am the same, disproportionally strong in weighted dips vs mediocre at benching. I think there's a carryover if you are used to other BW movements, I am also really good at weighted pullups compared to everything else. Stabilizing your own BW is a skill in itself, if the body detects instability it won't allow optimal force production to protect itself.
It's funny because I can add on moderate amount of weight, but my reps don't increase doing them unweighted that much. I could probably get 15 reps unweighted fresh, vs 10 reps at +20 fresh.
Most I did was 30 with BW, only because I didn't have a gym membership at the time and just went to a calisthenics park.
After 10-12+ it becomes a different sort of strength vs 3-8 reps. Those rep ranges correlate well with each other, while 10-12+ doesn't until you start lifting in that range specifically to get better at it, vice versa going from 15 to 20 with BW might not carry over very well to low rep weighted.
Because a big bench and ohp don't translate into a big weighted dip. It does go the other way though. Because dips require a lot more deep muscles n stabilizers
put the weight inbetween your legs. there's a few ways to do it and i find it way easier to hold it there if its a kettlebell instead of a plate/dumbell
>tie plates around yourself to perform body weight movement >literally too strong for your own body >this is gay
it's a privilege and pleasure when I do weighted pullups next to some poor noob struggling with assistance bands
No. Losing weight almost always means losing strength (unless you are DYEL or hamplanet)
I'm about 115kg and i estimate to be about 25% fat from the bodies i see online.
I can do 5 sets of 10 reps with 18kg assisted setting. I was just wondering when I can finally do it without the help.
height?
I bet you're closer to 35% than 25
t. fatasfatass
He's a hamplanet if he has 18kg of fat to lose

Can I do weighted dips without buying a gay belt? I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard in the gym
Use. Put a dumbbell between your balls and hold it with your thighs. Right up next to ur balls. Dont hold with feet.

Ngmi
Just get dip belt. I do weighted dips at my gym and no one cares about it.
