Fats aren't real people, so no, they cannot be trusted.

How can you tell he's fat from that picture? Just from the facial fat? It's not like you can see his belly. Anyway.. Geordi follows the school of thought that losing large amounts of body fat quickly is usually a bad thing because it will liberate PUFAs into the bloodstream. He used to do keto and claims he damaged his metabolism with it and got fat. He also is careful about exercise, I think he only does concentric exercises, if that. Anyway obviously his priority is not being lean, which doesn't mean he's unhealthy. But if you want to you can be lean and still be Peaty. Especially if you aren't overweight to begin with. Or you can be selective in what you follow.

I think he's traumatized from Keto, and keeps the calories up very high in order to keep stress down as much as possible (he lost his hair quickly and started developing multiple sclerosis before discovering ray peat). He should lose weight if only to increase his credibility, but I don't care

what kind of keto did he follow? the "keto" people do today isn't even keto as they don't restrict protein and that's probably why modern ketards last longer. the true keto when you restrict protein is absolutely dogshit when you get over the euphoric effect of ketones and adrenaline, terrible sleep, having to eat 15 grams of salt just to not get a headache, cravings and so on, this was what got most of them into peat afaik

i'm a IST tourist but what's this boards opinion on ray peat?

i got pretty into that whole thing a while ago but he has some goofy advice, like putting progesterone under your tongue (can't remember his reasoning) and taking an aspirin every day.

the only peat thing i still do is drink orange juice first thing in the morning to get blood sugar up

The things you're calling goofy are very basic.
      >progesterone under tongue
Do you not know about sublingual digestion? I knew about this in elementary school.
      >aspirin every day
Salicylic acid is pro-metabolic. It's part of what made the ECA stack work. People go insane over aspirin when Reye's syndrome has never been observed in anything but babies taking 10+ grams of aspirin at once.

        >sublingual digestion
I forgot why he recommended progesterone itself, not why he put it under the tongue.

Read his articles on it, but the main thing I have found helpful is it's aldosterone antagonism, anti fibrotic effects, general stabilizing of structure. Someone who took the vax and has chest pains would benefit greatly from antagonizing aldosterone, since the spike protein acts on the RAS.

the progesterone thing is necessary if you have some kind of an accident that damages your brain and he always warned men to be careful if they want to take DHEA, pregno or progest (microdosing them can be beneficial but don't go overboard with it). Aspirin can help reduce lactic acid buildup, very useful if you lift, can also help with cancer, just make sure to increase your sugar intake because aspirin can make you hypoglycemic

His articles state that pregnenolone is safe because unlike DHEA, if you take too much of preg it just doesn't get used.

        >sublingual digestion
I forgot why he recommended progesterone itself, not why he put it under the tongue.

Your body needs more than just testosterone. If your body need progesterone then you take progesterone. He likes progesterone because it's like "good" estrogen. Raises fertility and ect with no drawbacks. There's even one rat study where an oral progesterone supplement gave castrated rats erections.

Ray Peat had many interesting ideas and a very holistic approach to health. His ideas all fit together very well. However, many of them aren't proven and could turn out to be wrong. Even what he's most famous for, his war on PUFAs, isn't a settled question. Human data doesn't show any significant difference between people who eat more and those who eat less PUFAs. I think the biggest problem with nutritional science is that it tries to make the same rules for everyone, and doesn't take into account that there are different types of humans (this is connected with popular liberal "blank slate" view of humanity). Ray Peat was somewhat aware of this, but not nearly enough. In one of his articles he wrote:
      >In this newer view, high serotonin production causes behavioral inhibition and harm avoidance, which are traits of the authoritarian personality, while anti-authorians tend to have "novelty seeking" personalities, with high dopamine and low serotonin functions.
Imo, ideas like this should be the basis for everything.

My old track coach was like 60 and somewhat overweight so you think that no one should listen to the knowledge he obtained over time? You’re fricking stupid if you think because someone isn’t in great shape that they don’t know anything.

basic prejudice cmon man you should have learned that by now on here.
if someone meets a certain profile based on outwardly evidenct characteristics then you can safely assume that they match that based on your previous experience and stereotypes.
but give a little room for them to disprove it on a case by case basis, that way you'll seldom be caught off guard "never relax" and instead pleasantly surprised when there's a deviance from the norm

I do not trust nor respect any man who doesn't take care of his body, doesn't lift nor is above 15% bodyfat.

There are a lot of fit Peaters who have posted fizeek on Twitter. Even though the most prominent figures are not especially muscular, just use common sense, it's a diet that encourages getting 2 quarts or more of milk a day, cheese, gelatinous cuts of meat, eggs, shrimp, etc. Also encourages a lot of protein relative to SAD and you can go higher if you are a bodybuilder. Also Peat did not encourage a lot of white sugar except maybe in emergencies temporarily. So on what planet is this not a diet that could result in a lot of muscle growth? That's not a focus of the most prominent people because they try to minimize stress but there's no reason you can't use some of the principles and still get fit based on your own priorities.
