>at similar caloric intake and similar lifestyles.
So you think the only difference between Seventh Day Adventists and average Americans is that they don't eat meat?
You don't think the average American is more likely to drink, smoke, be overweight, be diabetic, eat poor-quality deep-fried foods, abuse prescription or narcotic drugs, consistently consume excess calories.
The average American exercises and abstains from inflammatory substances and stressful lifestyles just as much as the average Seventh Day Adventist?
>Some of the variation in the survival advantage in vegetarians may have been due to marked differences between studies in adjustment for confounders, the definition of vegetarian, measurement error, age distribution, the healthy volunteer effect
If someone chooses a vegetarian lifestyle because they believe it had health benefits, then it stands to reason they do other things to improve their health compared to the average westerner. They probably exercise more, avoid highly processed junk food, visit their doctor regularly, avoid tobacco + alcohol etc.
The people of Laos consume a virtually entirely plant-based whole food diet so why is their life expectancy so low compared to the West?
You have a study that compares vegans to meat eaters with similar rates of health-seeking behaviours don't you?
Because, given that vegan/vegetarian lifestyles are perceived as healthy, then the average person following those diets probably avoids most or all junk food, doesn't consistently eat excess calories, doesn't drink much alcohol and gets regular physical exercise.
Do you have a single study that attempts to control for these confounding factors? Or do you have studies comparing vegans/vegetarians to the average fat drunken junk-food eating westerner?
https://www.bmj.com/content/366/bmj.l4897 >vegetarians had 20% higher rates of total stroke (hazard ratio 1.20, 95% confidence interval 1.02 to 1.40) than meat eaters, equivalent to three more cases of total stroke (95% confidence interval 0.8 to 5.4 more) per 1000 population over 10 years, mostly due to a higher rate of haemorrhagic stroke. The associations for stroke did not attenuate after further adjustment of disease risk factors.

Vegans have tons of diseases from their nutritional deficiencies. Haven’t you ever seen how many pills one of them takes in the morning? Vegans are also always on some kind of mood stabilizer or antidepressant or something. Hell, they often can’t even go to sleep without pills.
I went to a vegan restaurant for the first time last night. The highlights:
- You couldn't order a normal salad. All vegetables on the menu were fried, processed, or pureed in some way.
- The "cauliflower wings" were far too spicy hot to eat- they tried to cover up the lack of flavor of the fake wings by adding stomach-churning levels of spices. Everything ordered was far too spiced or salty, come to think of it.
- The fake steak on the menu was $45. It wasn't even meat, and they were selling it for $45.
- The meal came to $50 per person, after a 20% required gratuity was added to the bill, for a few appetizers and entrees.
- Our waiter was clearly high out of their mind.
It was by far the worst dining experience of my life, bar none.

Fricking moron. Every single vegan that doesn't get to be a meme is just a slightly normal looking but still malnourished vegan. We are just posting the memes.
There isn't a vegan who isn't malnourished.
They don't. The reason vegans live longer is because they are always compared with the rest of the population. Vegans tend to have healthier habits than your average wagie (they aren’t fatfricks, care about their fricking diet and nutrients, take supplement when needed, do sport…).
If you want to prove that the lack of meat/fish/eggs is the specific reason vegans are healthier then you need to compare them with people with similar habits but also consume meat.

Vegans live longer than the average (American) person because the average person eats like shit. People who make conscious decisions about the way they eat obviously have a certain level of self control and therefore, most vegans don't eat like shit and eat relatively healthy stuff instead. Of course it's more healthy to eat a "good" vegan meal than to stuff your face with white bread, highly processed meats and seed oil based products while chugging gallons of sugar water.
But the health benefit has nothing to do with veganism itself; both not eating like shit and becoming vegan merely have the same cause: Self discipline and being conscious about what you eat.
If you compare a vegan to a meat eater with self discipline who actually cares about what he eats and therefore eats a good diet, the vegan loses by a wide margin due to B12 and creatine deficiency.
>If you compare a vegan to a meat eater with self discipline who actually cares about what he eats and therefore eats a good diet, the vegan loses by a wide margin due to B12 and creatine deficiency
Do you have a source
None of these prove your claim that vegans lose to meat eaters who are health conscious. Health conscious vegans take a b12 supplement. All this is is saying that a non-health conscious vegan would suffer b12 deficiency, and you quite clearly are talking about comparing standards.
You dont need supplements for B12. Literally just dont wash your potatoes so much, B12 comes from dirt. Supplemented in cattle too. Plus deficiency is highly overexaggerated, reqson nicokado got off the diet and look at him now
>Supplemented in cattle too
Fake news.
Cattle are only supplemented with B12 when they have been sick and required antibiotic treatment. The antibiotics nuke their gut bacteria that produce their B12.
Creatine deficiency is not a thing. Your liver makes 1-2g which is enough. What's interesting is vegos actually become more efficient at using less. So a long time vego starts supping it they get more benefits.
Veganism has become more popular and the average vegan probably isn’t as healthy as it used to be 10-15 years ago. Back then most vegans were upper mid class and very health conscious people. I’m 100% sure that the average dropped because unlike before there are many fatty vegans that eat like shit.
>every vet on the planet recommends grain free dog food >trust us bro your puppy will be great on this $200 food >dogs quickly start getting heart disease across the country >woah dogs appear to have evolved around a balanced diet >sorry about that heart disease ur puppy got bro lol >you should buy the 20$ purina everyone feeds their dogs lol
all unbalanced fad diets are nonsense. dogs going grain free and getting JUSTed is just an example that you are supposed to eat what you evolved to eat, period. and leaving out certain food groups for and aspects of nutrition for extended periods of time can have very nasty, unpredictable effects.
Okay? Not eating meat naturally wouldn't have been an issue because of the b12 in the soil, its not the same as dogs naturally not eating grains
2 years ago

lmfao. quasi-shit fake vegan science and a modern invention. no one ever got significant b12 from soil, ever, even at the pinnacle of soil quality, and any evidence to the contrary that you could produce would be lobbied. regardless, no anthropologist can identify strict veganism. veganism is a modern invention made by people with interest, just like vets who were lobbied to shill grain free diets to poor doggies, causing heart disease and other developmental issues. balance is all there is when it comes to nutritional choices, and yes I’m speaking to you too keto tards.

>dogs quickly start getting heart disease across the country
>woah dogs appear to have evolved around a balanced diet
>sorry about that heart disease ur puppy got bro lol
>you should buy the 20$ purina everyone feeds their dogs lol
>irrelevant nonsense
all unbalanced fad diets are nonsense. dogs going grain free and getting JUSTed is just an example that you are supposed to eat what you evolved to eat, period. and leaving out certain food groups for and aspects of nutrition for extended periods of time can have very nasty, unpredictable effects.
We don't live in a natural environment
neither do domesticated dogs.
Okay? Not eating meat naturally wouldn't have been an issue because of the b12 in the soil, its not the same as dogs naturally not eating grains
lmfao. quasi-shit fake vegan science and a modern invention. no one ever got significant b12 from soil, ever, even at the pinnacle of soil quality, and any evidence to the contrary that you could produce would be lobbied. regardless, no anthropologist can identify strict veganism. veganism is a modern invention made by people with interest, just like vets who were lobbied to shill grain free diets to poor doggies, causing heart disease and other developmental issues. balance is all there is when it comes to nutritional choices, and yes I’m speaking to you too keto tards.

Just another day spent damaging your brain by depriving it of animal fats
