I was at a bar in LA on halloween weekend and this guy started trying to shove me because I guess he didn't like that I was so close to him (the bar was fucking crowded idk what he expected). I could have easily escalated to a fight but instead I just got my drink and went to a different part of the bar. didn't see him after that and chatted up random thots all night.
it's just not worth it. turn the other cheek, the only time you can nig out is when you're actually being threatened. you don't know how far strangers are willing to take things, and you don't know what they have in their pockets or who is with them. even saying something to "stand up for yourself" could set them off.
A lot of people start shit because they have a knife/gun and are literally just looking for an excuse to stab/shoot someone, its what gives them the confidence to randomly start shit with you in the first place lol

that's exactly what it is m8, no way around it. backing down will always be seen as the pussy move. maybe it's "smart", but smart will never be seen as manly in that regard. some may prefer to lose a fight than to back down from one (especially in public, and especially when attractive women are around), and I can understand that. but it's dangerous. no use trying to get everyone to think of you as tough if you end up bleeding out from a knife wound in front of those same people you were trying to save face in front of.
I actually instigate fights at crowded bars and then play the victim to bouncers so the other guy gets thrown out. Gives me and everyone else that isn't a hot head more elbow room.

My dad forced me to do boxing as a kid, I hated it and got out of it as soon as I could but I did learn to throw a proper punch and that shit saved me later in life.
