I'm a 185 lb, 25 year old male who has been running triathlons since last year and running long distance since I was 14. My resting heart rate suddenly rose from 60 to 90 bpm in the past week, making me feel out of breath and lightheaded. I did just finish my last round of finals before graduation, but it seems to be persisting now that the stress of schoolwork is ending. What the frick is happening bros? Is cardio a meme?

Why exactly are you asking us instead of going to a doctor?

If you haven't already you should get the soonest possible doctor's appointment. No fricking shit, you can't just suddenly get lightheadedness and a racing heart from some common gymbro ailment.
Keep at least one good friend or family member who's nearby notified if possible and arrange to text them at certain times, so if SHTF and you're alone they'll notjce you haven't texted them

if you are triathalon fit and have a constant resting heartrate of 90 you need to get to a doctor however you can, go to a fricking free clinic and sit around that's emergency shit for me.

I did a tri three weeks ago, got hemorrhoids as a result and waited to heal. Went on a few bike rides and runs since. Went on a run this morning. Medium pace at 8 min/mile.

Go to a DOCTOR. It could be just psychological or overtraining syndrome, but why risk it?

what do you do when the doctor just wants to diagnose anxiety and kick you out?

By resting do you mean actual resting heart rate as in you tested it right as you woke up, or "resting" heart rate i.e. sitting down?
Because if it's the latter it's not that big of a deal but if it's the former then it is a big deal.
But the biggest deal of it all is you feeling out of breath and lightheaded. That shit is not good.

Probably just stress and not enough rest but would you really risk 10% something chance of dying because you didn't want to go to the doctor?

I usually only get up to 90 or above when I'm sitting. I haven't done a great job of testing it after I wake up.

OP's pic just reminded me of the time i worked in a slaughterhouse and sometimes there were pigs that would sit in corner like in OP's pic and be out of breath and i would have to forcefully get them inside the kill box.

You're probably ill. I recommend two aspirins a day, a multivitamin and fruit juice and broth till morale improves.

I started running two years ago. I usually run 400 meters at a slow pace then 400 meters at about twice that pace, then slow again and so on until I can't keep going. Other times, I run 3km at a moderate pace and I go home. My BPM while sitting is 50-55 and it drops as low as 39 if I'm lying in bed, completely relaxed.

Running for more than half an hour is pointlessly stressful for your heart. You fell for the cardio meme, now you're paying the price.
